Annddddd... this is the point.

I'm going to spell it out.

A few people in here hated that return and thought it was a letdown (which mirrors what happened in the arena with the boos at the end). But still, people think Jericho is "going to come through" and will continue to cheer. I fully expect him to do the exact same thing going forward and more and more people will slowly turn (so you are actually ahead of the curve in that regard). More people will boo as they realize Jericho isn't going to give them what they want. The mixed reactions will turn to heat. There is no way he wasn't getting cheered upon returning, so this was a brilliant way to turn him heel.

Im fully aware things take time to build....(actually, people forget this fact too often when its a wrestler they dont like)

I just think the idea that "Jericho will come through! He always does!" is the exact reason many people will try to cheer him as long as they can. But his gimmick as a real life internet troll won't let them. Hell, him tweeting about "the return" and the Taker-like promos are forms of trolling as well. I love it all.

He's basically doing whatever he wants to mess with people and it's great. For the people in here who loved how the whole thing was done, I think he already "came through". For those disappointed or confused, I don't think their payoff is coming (which will lead to the heel heat, which is SUPER impressive for a return of this magnitude). That was my point I guess.

One reason I'm pretty sure he's turning is because he himself said on his DVD that Y2J was dead and that he couldn't be the smiling jumping around face that he was 10 years ago, when he turned heel.

I'm pissed at THQ now.
But hopefully they go some where huge with this and hopefully Monday Night Raw, The WWE, Sports Entertainment, Entertainment Entertainment, the Country of the United States, the Western Hemisphere, the Planet Earth, the Heavens Above, the Galaxies, the Crab Nebula, the Universe itself.....will NEVER...eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeever....be the same....againe.


Oh and my buddy, the other Chris, said they just didn't have time left to fit him on Raw, so they are saving him and Brodus for the Royal Rumble.

He also mentioned that the only way Chris Jericho should leave the WWE is kicking and screaming, never to be heard from again. Here's to hoping that eventually pans out. This may be his final run.

This close to Wrestlemania, pretty sure we don't have to worry about a payoff not happening.

My bet: He starts to do the same thing next week and someone comes out to interrupt him.

This. One of two things are going to happen with this. Either next week, Jericho is going to come out and actually cut a promo going full heel about the fans being sheep. If it doesn't go down that way, then he's going to continue coming out doing the exact thing he did tonight. He'll play up to the crowd for a bit, make like he's going to talk and walk out. He'll do that every week until the Raw after the Rumble where Punk's mini feud with Ziggler will probably wrap up (after a title match at the Rumble) when he does it that time, he'll probably be getting booed by the fans for it and when he goes to leave, Punk will come out and have a go at him for being a douche and things'll go awesome from there.

It's funny how my house was a microcosm of what the overall mix of reactions is to Jericho. My wife went from excited to getting irritated that it took so long, while I went from groaning about his hideous jacket to laughing and calling him a genius (receiving confused looks form my wife in the process).

I actually started off worried when he was smiling so big and eating it up...I was relieved when he started really milking it, as I knew it was just plain trolling. I know it's not going to sit well with everyone (for various reasons) and I can get why, but for me it was a perfect return in that it was all just so...Jericho. I guess I'm just happy that they are at least attempting to strive for longer termed development. Between that and Punk/Dolph (I'd like to see them have a clean match in this little feud though), I can't wait for next week.
