    Re: WWE Off-Topic

No surprise, LA Knight talking about how Vince had a specific vision for him (Max Dupri), then just stopped caring about him. He probably would've been fired soon too if not for the repackage. What else is new.

Imagine if Vince gave up on Austin after ringmaster or Cena actually got fired before he was rapper Cena.

I fully believe they would've gone all Paul Burchill on LA Knight with the weirdness of him and his "sister" together running a modelling agency.

There's just so many things making me so glad guys like Vince, Laurinaitis, Dunn aren't around anymore. The obvious stories from Vince, and some stories I've heard about Laurinaitis just regarding AJ Lee alone, and Dunn regarding Becky, it's ridiculous.

      WWE already found Dunn's replacement.

Hiring Lee Fitting to take over Dunn's old role. I see this as a bigger win than people might think it is. They easily could've just "promoted from within" and whoever takes over for Dunn is just someone who worked closely with him and has similar habits and styles as how he does things.

Getting a fresh new face in charge will hopefully help out. Lee was one of the people in charge of that side of things when it came to MNF and College Football coverage on ESPN.

Funny you mention it just found it yesterday and started following. Really interesting stuff.

Tried buying the SD/Backlash Combo tickets this morning... those prices were crazy. I know it's 2 shows but damn, by the time I got in the cheapest tickets 700 euros and 900 euros were sold out. Insane.

R-Truth has new Judgment Day Merchandise... Truth is officially the Sami Zayn to the Judgment Day's Bloodline. Wait, does this make Miz the Kevin Owens to his Sami Zayn?

Saw this video pop up online

It's already been 12 years! I loved the late FCW/early NXT days. It'd crazy looking back and at the time Cena was about to go into WM against The Rock in the biggest WM match ever. And all the talent in this video were nothing more than developmental talent hoping to make a name for themselves in WWE one day.

Big E Langston, Woods, Rollins, Reigns, all future hall of famers.

Impact Wrestling changes name to TNA

Today....WWE changes their community initiative name from WWE Community to WWE Impact.

I thought it was a joke at first but it's true.

                      Re: WWE Off-Topic

A new report from The Athletic reveals that ESPN had been inserting fake names in Emmy entries taking the awards won by some of those imaginary individuals, and having them re-engraved before giving them to on-air personalities. This tactic allowed for those working on College GameDay to be recognized. The hosts were not eligible for inclusion in a credit list until 2023.

ESPN changed the names of several of the hosts and labeled them as affiliated producers, according to The Athletic, with Kirk Herbstreit being referred to as "Kirk Henry" and Lee Corso as "Lee Clark," among other made-up names.

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences contacted ESPN to verify names in 2022, and ESPN admitted to using fictitious names.

Now, Lee Fitting has been deemed ineligible for future Emmy participation as part of the punishment handed out for the scheme.
That's the guy who took over for Dunn.

Of all the things to get in trouble for, this is far down the list in terms of bad things. If anything it sounds funny.

I want this to be a WWE story somehow. Some backstage worker wins some Slammy award or something and we find out its not even a real person and a superstar just takes the slammy and puts their name on it. It's no "Owen won two slammys all by himself", but would still be funny.

Gotta be honest, this sounds like an idea that would absolutely bomb with everyone except Vince. He’d love it.

                          Almost RTWM season!

I'm not sure how much impact Dunn had on the video packages WWE did, but hopefully the new guy feels the same way about putting together great video packages for matches.

Rewatching the Cody/Lesnar one, can't wait to see what kinds of packages we could get with the amount of story behind some of the possible feuds like Cody/Reigns, Rollins/Punk, Uso/Uso among others.

Don't know how involved he was with the ESPN college GameDay videos, but ones like this would be cool

Bad news, Kevin Patrick seems to be on the hot seat and possibly gone altogether?

Good news, SD getting a new commentator.

Kevin is a good host/backstage guy, but he wasn't fit for commentary. I hope he does stay on as a studio host like what Kayla and Jackie do. Though with MLS starting up in a few months, maybe they just let him go fully on board with MLS coverage? Don't think he'll be a Scott Stanford who is still with the company while doing other stuff too.

Easy solution is move Vic to SD. Who else do they even have? It's either Vic or Booker with Graves unless they throw a curveball and someone we never thought about suddenly becomes a commentator (I'd love Big E on commentary since he's probably not wrestling again but has one of the most entertaining voices out there).

Don't know who needs to step in, HHH or HBK, but for all the developing NXT does, why not go big on developing the next big voices for WWE. We don't need a fixed commentary team on NXT. I'm fine with a revolving door to see who's good.

I don't envy anyone trying to do that job. Only a cyborg like Michael Cole can really do what they ask of them. People who actually seem life-like can't keep up with that grind.
