Saw this on Reddit... an old Vince McMahon interview from 1992 getting asked about harassment in WWF.

Re: WWE Off-Topic
Bella's comment on all this too. Still seems like a weird post given their stepdad is one the main guys involved (and the Bella's better than most would probably understand the treatment of women backstage)

Re: WWE Off-Topic
Even before any allegations the last 2 years, people always had a feeling Laurinaitis wasn't a good person. Same with McMahon, but McMahon was way more in the public eye. Seems rare to even hear people talk fondly about Laurinaitis at all (or people might just mention someone bad/controversial without naming them, but you could pieces together and know he matched the description)Last edited by Majingir; 01-29-2024, 07:17 PM.Comment

Re: WWE Off-Topic
Maven has a video explaining how the Rumble match works. Obviously things might be different now a days compared to when he was in WWE but it is still a very interesting video.

Re: WWE Off-Topic
Laurinaitis lawyer speaks out and says his client is a victim much like the woman who is making the accusations....
“Mr. Laurinaitis denies the allegations in the misguided complaint and will be vigorously defending these charges in Court, not the media. Like the Plaintiff, Mr. Laurinaitis is a victim in this case, not a predator. The truth will come out.”
Even before these allegations, Laurinaitis wasn't the most popular guy backstage at all during his time in WWE. Divas didn't seem to want anything to do with him either (don't forget, he's the same guy who'd just look through magazines "for research" and pick out women he thinks would make a good diva)Last edited by Majingir; 02-01-2024, 05:34 PM.Comment

Re: WWE Off-Topic
People's interpretation makes it basically sound like a "Vince made me do it" type of thing. Though it also sounds like a confirmation that it did actually happen.Comment

Re: WWE Off-Topic
We'll see what happens if/when more names are named.
Because right now the corporate pr thing seems to just be like "It was all Vince".
Even the Netflix head said it too. Basically like "This news doesn't impact our deal because that was about Vince, and Vince isn't part of this anymore."
People keep suggesting Vince is gonna get the Benoit treatment. I don't see that at all, but I do see them scrubbing the network of any moments with him and divas (lots of stuff with him and Trish, Sable, among others).
You're not just gonna ignore 80% of Austin's career because it involved Vince. But you should expect them to ignore him booking himself into romance storylines with many women younger than his own daughter. Definitely gonna erase the segment with Stephanie and Vince where she flat out even says she "secured" business deals for Vince (as a teenager if I remember correctly).Last edited by Majingir; 02-02-2024, 02:02 PM.Comment

Re: WWE Off-Topic
I don't know if they'd outright release Lesnar or just let his deal run out. He hasn't been proven guilty so would they want to release him (unless they want to make a PR statement). Letting his deal run out is the easiest thing, especially if it's up by WM.Comment
