Instead of giving us babyface Rock, they are giving us in a way the new and improved Corporate Champion gimmick since well, he is now a board member on TKO. Also please.... please WWE if let Cody bring Stone Cold out or have Austin be a surprise pop at some point and give us another Rock/Austin showdown.
I was gonna say that a while ago but felt it would've got buried in all the freaking out.

It felt like a lose lose at the time. If they go with Rock vs Reigns, fans would hate it. If they go with Cody vs Reigns (vs Rock?) people would claim "it's only because fans hated Rock vs Reigns", but how do we know? What if that's their plan all along? If you're basing your "facts" on what dirtsheet reporters say, you're not believing something that's fact, you're believing opinions as facts.

I'm glad we're getting this match and if we do get Austin involved somehow, that would be cool too. Rock being the corporate champ type character since he's literally on the corporate side now too, we have to see everyone involved.

Maybe we get Jimmy vs Jey and Rikishi as ref, so the Bloodline story continues there. Solo comes in for the main event but Rock stops him from doing anything, but Austin comes in and costs The Rock while Cody beats Reigns?

Who knows a thing or two about standing up to the boss than Stone Cold? Rock is now the corporate guy Austin goes against.

I think Rock joining with Reigns by the end of the press conference kinda kills that idea for now, no? Someone insulting the family overrules a family disagreement.

Cody vs Rock Night 1, Cody vs Reigns Night 2?

        Re: WWE Off-Topic

It has to be something like Rock vs Cody at EC, or Rock/Reigns vs Cody/Rollins where if Rock/Reigns wins, Cody's out of their match, if Cody/Rollins wins, Cody's in the triple threat.

Don't know how that'd work with Rollins involved. Though, Rollins wanted Cody to face him and that's what led to Cody changing his mind and choosing Rollins. But now Rollins is on board Cody's side and wants Cody vs Reigns, so perhaps he wants Cody to go after Reigns and will help him get there even if it means sacrificing his own WM main event?

And if so, where does that leave Rollins? McIntyre? Priest? Someone else?

Or is it some big swerve and Rock vs Rollins happens instead if Cody vs Roman happens? Rock vs Rollins ending with Priest cashing in (and pinning Rock)?

True. Maybe like others said they do a tag match, with Roman and Rock having issues that cost them the match, then they can have a match. Idk.

So is it gonna be Rock vs Rollins then?!

Rock told HHH to fix it, HHH immediately tweets out Cody vs Roman.

Rock is on Romans side now, maybe a bit of intertwining stories happening between these two matches?

That settles it. You can't post something like that and then change it later, unless u want to overbook things and make a mockery of it all. Pretty definitive.

To be fair, all he did was tweet out the official match that Cody decided. Rock/Roman vs Cody/Seth at Elimination Chamber? My guess is Drew McIntyre will win the Men's Chamber to face Rollins at Mania.

                    I'd love if that happened.

Priest cashes in on Rollins too and that furthers his story with Drew while Rollins goes away for a while.

Priest becomes a face when being ousted from the Judgment Day while McIntyre (maybe replacing him) snaps and goes full heel.

A tag match is best scenario for sure because Rollins and Rock won't have to compete as much and this is probably the biggest match you can do at that show.

Barring some insane momentum shift, Priest should lose his cash-in. Just try to imagine him with those guys on stage tonight - he doesn’t fit. Not that it’s his fault because he’s not writing the shows, but they’ve had him stuck for the last few months and it really hurt what he had going.

Literally the only reason to have Seth anywhere near that stage was to set up a tag match at Elimination Chamber. Winner of the Chamber (Drew or Gunther are my guess) attack Seth during or after the match to set up that Title Match. Then Roman spears Rock or something to create the animosity between them. Triple Threat Match. In a triple threat Roman and Cody can work most of the match plus no DQ means Rock can brawl more which also protects him.

                        This is the way.

Clunky - that feels like the best word to describe the last week thru tonight. And that’s not really a word that I’d associate with WWE booking since Triple H has been controlling creative.

I’m not mad at Cody apparently facing Roman. It’s the right call, but it also simultaneously suggests they called an audible. And even after tonight, there still feels like there is an air of uncertainty if that’s the final match.

All told, while Vince is out of the picture, this feels like a recipe for troll booking at Mania. IF the fans forced their hand to put Cody back in the main event, I could see Roman retaining to stick it to the same fans. Don’t mean to be cynical - I could just see this happening.

It wouldn't be the first time a wrestling company has had a show that felt pointless, honestly.

                                It's part of the story.

Rock and Reigns trying to "take over" because as Rock said tonight, there's one royal family (it's theirs). Now Cody coming in with a change of heart (or possibly being manipulated by Rock last week) and now going after Reigns despite what Rock might have told him.
