It's ok. People have revisionist history about the 'prestige' of the IC title instead of remembering when guys like Val Venis, the Godfather, and DLo Brown were feuding over it. And then there's Chyna winning it...

That Chyna/Angle/Jericho feud was great. At the time, I don't think Chyna winning at that time was bad. Looking back, eh....

Angle wasn't involved with that feud. Hardcore Holly was.

That makes the angle even worse when you think about it.

The IC title lost its' prestige around 1998 or so. Prior to that, it was definitely a great title with rich history.

I'm just going to base this on age and from "my own" viewing experience.

February 8, 1986 - January 22, 1995(the day Jeff Jarrett won the title) was the prime of the IC title.

                Savage feud with Steamboat
Honky Tonk Man feud with Ultimate Warrior
Mr. Perfect holding the belt of almost the entire year in 1990
Bret Hart feuding with both British Bulldog and HBK
                Razor Ramon(enough said)

I thought Rock/SCSA/HHH had good feuds over the IC title in 97/98. I thought Angle/Benoit/Jericho feuded over it too?

Don't get me wrong, those feuds you mention were all good. The time frame mentioned above just sticks out to me as a stretch that will go unmatched. Not only were the feuds great, but the title reigns were long stretches, and I was young enough to still be emotionally invested in wrestling.

IMO I believe the Golden Age of the IC belt started around 1984-85 beginning with the Chico-Valentine feud.

I gotta interrupt the nostagia with this question: Why did they go back to the "Classic" IC title? I haven't watched wrestling in about 3 years, and started to look at a show or two or Raw and noticed it. I loved the design of the IC, and thought it was weird that they changed it, along with the weird looking tag titles.

Cody Rhodes did it to bring 'prestige' back to the belt.

OTL has always been a crappy PPV and is one of those that should be cut since the builds are usually pretty crappy. But hey, as long as they're making money, it'll probably stay.

Then there's a long list of superstars that are also not doing anything at all. Does Mark Henry even still work there?
Henry's hurt and on the backburner since the roster is backloaded with heels and not enough good faces for them to go against.

Tyson Kidd isn't useful for anything though other wrestlers say he's great? Just had those 3 great matches with Perfect Jr. and now nothing for either of them.
Kidd's awful on the mic and has no character...good squash worker but unless they bring back the cruiserweight belt he's a jobber.

The best they can do for A-Ri is that he owes Punk $50?
A-Ri's the opposite, decent on the mic, but awful in the ring (though according to you so are most of the top guys, so no point in arguing there).

                            And poor,poor Miz!
Yep, poor Miz getting to star in a movie, which will likely mean a big push again, and still getting TV & mic time even though he's losing...take out the movie part and he's just like Punk was last year around this time, albeit losing a bit more admittedly. Didn't kill Punk, won't kill Miz.

Zack Ryder hasn't done anything in months and they finally decided to have his blow off match with Kane on the OTL pre-show.
Ryder's a midcard comedy character just like Santino. He fills his role well, but really isn't ready for anything more than that.

Like I said, everyone can't be pushed at once, so there's always going to be someone who people bitch about not getting pushed. If Bryan wasn't in the hunt people would bitch about it. If Punk wasn't people would bitch about it. If ADR wasn't (I know he isn't as popular around here as those guys) but someone somewhere would bitch about it.

You can't please everyone. The narrative used to be Cena and Orton always fighting for the belt, well OTL will be the 7th straight PPV where Cena hasn't fought for the belt (Vengeance) and before the fatal 4 way was made Orton hadn't fought for the title since he lost to Henry at HIAC (7 PPVs). So it's not like there aren't new faces getting a shot at big matches (Punk, Bryan, Sheamus, ADR) but since it isn't everyone that people want it to be, there's still complaining.

The tag team division (is there one?) in WWE is an abomination of what it used to be. The titles should be dissolved.
