I really really enjoyed the king of the ring and I liked it better when it was 3 matches in 1 night for the winner. 1994 was the only king of the ring that featured all of the matches and no time limit expires or draws in the 1st round. Then mabel won in 95 which was a joke and the king of the ring winner only had to win twice on ppv starting in 96 which I thought was stupid. They should bring it back like it was and have the winner be granted a summerslam title shot like its mentioned above then maybe you have the winner vs. somebody at the july ppv with the title shot on the line and you can go a different direction, or a screwy finish that leads to a summerslam triple threat or something. The possibilies are their to make the KOTR mean something again.

And the Summerslam title shot was not consistent. Only happened for Mable and Lesnar.

Exactly. Stone Cold won the King of the Ring in 1996, and at SummerSlam that year he was relegated to wrestling Yokozuna on the pre-show Free for All match.
