Re: WWE '13 Universe Mode Thread - How's Your's Going?
    • The Miz took advantage of a pre-match attack by Roman Reigns on Big Show, finishing him off with a Skull Crushing Finale.

    • Recent Cruiserweight champ Chris Jericho denied Damien Sandow a second chance at the World title. Sandow didn't lose the briefcase, though.

    • KENTA eliminated the Bare-Knuckle Brawler Wade Barrett with a GTS.

    • Sheamus won a 6-man battle royal for the next U.S. title shot (other participants - Hulk Hogan, Miz, Cody Rhodes, Kofi Kingston, Scott Hall).

    • Daniel Bryan called on fellow ROH alumni El Generico to help take on Ric Flair and Triple H. Again Bryan didn't take the fall - HHH pinned Generico after a signature knee facebuster. The Shield congratulated the Game and Naitch on their victory.

    • HBK showed his ring rust, tapping to a Rings of Saturn by Jack Swagger.

    • The Shield picked up another victory over NextGen (Bryan's allies) - Roman Reigns speared El Generico for the pin.

    • Brock Lesnar's pre-match ambush wasn't working out too well for most of his IC Championship match against champion C.M. Punk. Punk dominated for most of the match until Lesnar DDTed him through a table. The straight-edge champion was left in a bloody heap on the outside and Lesnar was crowned the new title-holder. His buddy Ryback celebrated with him as the Corporation now has every major championship, besides the World Heavyweight.

The Last of Us is the Citizen Kane of video-games. It is better than every game that has ever come before it, and is the new benchmark for all games to follow. It is nothing short of a work of art.

Re: WWE '13 Universe Mode Thread - How's Your's Going?
        • Daniel Bryan defended his WWE title against the Viper one last time before his Survivor Series match with Corporation opponent Ted DiBiase Sr. In a solid rematch, Orton failed to bring the gold home for his stable.

        • The Shield scored one for the Corporation as they pinned Bryan and C.M. Punk's allies - El Generico, Colt Cabana, and Roderick Strong.

        • Big Show attempted to get some sort of revenge on Roman Reigns but was dominated. Reigns virtually put the giant out of action.

        • Samoa Joe, friend of C.M. Punk and Daniel Bryan, defeated US Champ Dean Ambrose in a non-title match, thereby joining the alliance against the Corporation. It's possible he'll receive a future title shot.

        • A classic lucha battle ensued between two of the top cruiserweights - Eddie Guerrero overcame friend and former bitter rival Rey Mysterio.

Re: WWE '13 Universe Mode Thread - How's Your's Going?
          • Daniel Bryan and AJ Styles went over Survivor Series adversaries Alberto Del Rio and Ted DiBiase as Styles rolled up ADR.

          • Jeff Hardy moves on with a victory over veteran Christian.

          • The ultimate technician Bret Hart beat high-flying legend Rob Van Dam.

          • C.M. Punk and Samoa Joe surmounted the odds stacked against them in the form of Andre the Giant, Curtis Axel, and Ryback. The 3-on-2 handicap match ended when Punk lifted the humongous Andre and connected with the Go To Sleep. They have been granted future title shots at IC champion Brock Lesnar and United States Champion Dean Ambrose, respectively. Survivor Series might be the time.

          • World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio, who claims to not be directly associated with the Corporation, teamed with the Shield against Daniel Bryan and AJ Styles. Bryan and Styles were joined by Shield rival Cody Rhodes. The 26-minute epic bout came to a conclusion as the cunning Mexican Aristocrat rolled up fellow champ Daniel Bryan, gaining huge momentum into Survivor Series. This came after Cody Rhodes hit a big lifting DDT on Roman Reigns that left both men knocked out but Rhodes could not cover in time.

Re: WWE '13 Universe Mode Thread - How's Your's Going?

            Survivor Series (2013)

            United States Championship
Samoa Joe def. Dean Ambrose (c)

A fun match came to a close kinda early as Samoa Joe hit a diving elbow drop onto a groggy Dean Ambrose laying on a table. The Samoan Submission Machine scored one for NextGen (Bryan/Punk's alliance) as he forced Ambrose to tap to the Cocina Clutch.

            RAW Gold Rush Match
            Bully Ray def. Ric Flair

The Nature Boy piledrived Bully Ray through the announce table but the former Aces & Eights leader came back and landed a Bully Bomb for the pin at 5:42.

            Intercontinental Championship
Brock Lesnar (c) def. C.M. Punk

This rematch for the IC title was as great as their previous battles. Reigning champion Lesnar started to dominate, slamming Punk to the ground with a trio of powerbombs on the outside. Following that, he viciously speared Punk through a barricade. Punk was able to survive for a bit longer but a second triple powerbomb was all she wrote. Lesnar has asserted himself as the top singles champion of the Corporation but you can be sure the huge stable has more tricks up their sleeve to get back into the WWE title picture. Where the Straight-Edge Superstar goes next is anyone's guess but it's likely he'll continue to support Bryan against the authority.

            WWE Championship
Daniel Bryan (c) def. Ted DiBiase

We started off with some good technical wrestling but soon enough the fight between the Million Dollar Man and the YES! man was taken to the outside. Bryan brutally speared DiBiase through a barricade but was busted open by a steel steps shot. DiBiase later hit Bryan with a Million Dollar Dream legsweep. DBry avoided a guitar over the head and finished off the 1988 King of the Ring winner with a running crooked clothesline. One can only question who the Corporation has in store for Bryan - he keeps knocking them down one by one.

Roman Reigns, Ryback, and Ted DiBiase Jr. (The Corporation) def. Colt Cabana, Roderick Strong, and El Generico (NextGen)

After Shield member Dean Ambrose lost his US title to Next Gen's Samoa Joe, the Corporation got some revenge. 23 minutes elapsed before this all-out brawl ended. Roman Reigns and Ted DiBiase Jr. were a cohesive unit, executing multiple powerbomb/senton tag manuevers. At one point, Strong secured a Death by Roderick on the monster Ryback but ultimately a sitout spinebuster by DiBiase on Strong was the final move. El Generico was close to breaking up the pin but could not do it in time. The Corporation gains some huge momentum but besides taking the WWE title from Daniel Bryan, it's unsure what their other plans are.

            World Heavyweight Championship
AJ Styles def. Alberto Del Rio (c)

Technical master versus super high-flyer proved to make an exciting combination of styles in this World Title match. The Phenomenal One made the most out of his opportunity he earned by winning the #1 contendership Rumble, defeating the Mexican Aristocrat in 9 minutes, 36 seconds. Styles captured his first WWE championship via his signature enziguri and then a Spiral Tap from the top. ADR still has his rematch clause in hand and there's also the Smackdown Gold Rush winner to look forward to.

            Smackdown Gold Rush Match
            Randy Savage def. Undertaker

The Macho Man DDTed the Deadman through a table and survived a Last Ride, pinning Taker after his signature scoop slam. Surely this won't be the last we see of Undertaker.

                  Verizon Center – Washington D.C.

                  “You’re Fired” Match
                  Singles – No Disqualification
                  Jeff Hardy v. Ken Shamrock

In one of the most disgraceful displays of her reign of terror, Stephanie McMahon has demonstrated her authority by forcing two –- randomly selected – superstars to compete… for their careers. Jeff Hardy and Ken Shamrock open up the show, and the loser will be fired. As Stephanie explained, it’s “necessary to trim the fat” on the roster. We can trust that her actions are best for the business, right…?

Reluctantly, they fought. Reluctantly, Jeff Hardy laid his body on the line to retain his career in the WWE. Following the match, Stephanie McMahon approached the ring and formally fired Ken Shamrock. “Go back to the NFC or the UFC or whatever it was we plucked you from – because you’re fired, Ken.”

                  Winner, by pinfall, Jeff Hardy.

                  United States Championship
                  Singles
                  Randy Orton v. Ryback ©

Randy Orton defeated Rob Van Dam to challenge Ryback for his U.S. Championship in the U.S. Capital. Fitting.

A surprisingly quick match between two gladiators. Orton had it won, but Ryback put him away with the Shellshock. This match received a number of resounding boos for its abrupt ending, but we speculate that this may have been because Orton was injured during the match. His return to the ring is uncertain at this time.

Winner, by pinfall, and STILL WWE United States Champion, Ryback!

                  Diva’s Championship
                  Triple Threat
Nikki Bella v. Eve v. AJ Lee ©

Another three-way battle for AJ’s coveted title featured a lot of intense action, but ultimately Eve emerged victorious. This will not sit well with the enraged AJ.

Winner, by pinfall, and NEW Diva’s Champion, Eve!

                  Singles
                  X-Pac v. Hollywood Hulk Hogan

Born from the rivalry between Nash and Hogan came this little gem of a matchup – X-Pac vs. The Immortal, Hulk Hogan. This amounted to little more than a proxy war between Nash and Hogan.

In his return to the ring, Hulk Hogan did not disappoint. While X-Pac certainly had the advantage of speed and agility on his side, nothing can compare to the experience that Hogan brings to the ring. Hogan hit the leg drop and scored the pin.

Winner, by pinfall, Hollywood Hulk Hogan!

                  World Heavyweight Championship
                  Singles
Kevin Nash v. Cody Rhodes ©

Round Two. Cody Rhodes defeated Nash on Smackdown three weeks prior to retain his World Heavyweight Championship in an impromptu match that Stephanie McMahon forced him into competing in to “prove his worth.”

We have to admire Cody’s spirit and heart, but his body never stood a chance. Right out of the gate, Kevin Nash dominated the match. To prove a point to the youngster, Nash finished the match with two Jacknife Powerbombs and captured the World Heavyweight Championship, putting an abrupt end to Cody’s one-month reign.

Winner, by pinfall, and NEW World Heavyweight Champion, Kevin Nash!

                  Intercontinental Championship
Singles – Special Guest Referee – Shawn Michaels
                  Triple H v. Chris Jericho ©

The Heartbreak Kid sure has a strange way of making a comeback.

Many people weren’t sure we’d ever see him in a ring again after his loss to The Rock at Wrestlemania, but Shawn surprised the universe when he made an unexpected appearance to open up Raw. Another surprise was in store for everyone later that night when it was announced that Shawn Michaels would be the special guest referee for a brewing match between Triple H and Chris Jericho, the reigning intercontinental Champion. The last time anyone saw Triple H and Shawn Michaels in the same ring as one another was this year’s Royal Rumble, which ended in HBK super-kicking HHH out of the ring. Michaels, of course, has a long history with Chris Jericho, too.

Despite some testy words with Triple H thorough the match, including what HHH thought was a slow count after a Pedigree that Hunter was sure should have put away Y2J, Shawn Michaels did a superb job at keeping himself out of the match… that is, until he caught Y2J with some Sweet Chin Music.

No one is quite sure who Michaels was aiming for with that kick as both opponents were in the same corner of the ring, but HBK managed to plant it on Jericho instead. It looked as though he was aiming for Triple H… nonetheless, Michaels did his job and counted the subsequent pin by Triple H for the 1-2-3.

Shawn abruptly left after the win, leaving Triple H to celebrate his new title.

Winner, by pinfall, and NEW Intercontinental Champion, Triple H!

                  WWE Championship
                  Singles
Bret Hart v. CM Punk ©

Pure technical wrestling at its finest. The Best in the World vs. The Best There Is, The Best There Was, and the Best There Ever Will Be. King of the Ring Winner, Bret Hart, has exercised his automatic #1 contendership clause against CM Punk and ignited an intense rivalry.

As Punk said following the conclusion of the show, “This is far from over!”

A controversial ending will lead to a follow-up match in this rivalry. With the Sharpshooter locked in, it appeared that CM Punk had reached the ropes for the rope-break. Without a rope-break being called and no visible evidence of Punk tapping out, the referee rang the bell and Bret “The Hit Man” Hart was declared the winner.

Winner, by submission, and NEW WWE Champion, Bret Hart!

The champions, post Capital Punishment. This does not reflect the European Championship, which is held by The Miz.

                  What will happen next?

(Admittedly, not my best camera work. Sorry.)

                              • Batista was the David in this colossal David vs Goliath matchup, defeating Andre the Giant to advance. A spinebuster through the announce table plus a Batista Bomb on the ramp got the job done.

                              • Dusty Rhodes' return to the ring wasn't a triumphant one, but it sure was exciting. The Rhodes family were given the chance to get some revenge on The Corporation's goons for what they did to them months ago. After almost 34 minutes of amazing tag action, Roman Reigns was able to roll up Cody into a small package and pick up the victory for the Shield. A belly-to-belly suplex by Dustin onto a table nor a Cross Rhodes by the younger brother could end it for the American Dream's team.

                              • After teammate Ted DiBiase's loss at Survivor Series, Triple H decided to take his issues with the so-called "B+ player" and WWE Champion Daniel Bryan into his own hands. He orchestrated another 6-man tag between the Corporation and its foes (NextGen). On the Game's side was former champion Randy Orton and IC champion Brock Lesnar, while Lesnar's rival Punk and U.S. champ Samoa Joe joined DBry. Near the middle of the bout, Joe locked in the Cocina Clutch on the former UFC champion Lesnar, who also drew a near-fall on a small package from Punk. Triple H knocked Bryan out for the three count with the Pedigree.

Afterwards, Triple H pulled out his next trick in his enduring quest to strip the WWE title from Daniel Bryan. He announced that the Corporation will allow Lesnar to vacate the Intercontinental Championship for an opportunity at Daniel Bryan for the next PPV, Bound for Glory.

                                • X-Pac's comeback and subsequent attempt to dethrone Cruiserweight Champion Davey Richards failed. Austin Aries, though, was able to do just that. The new champ A-Double won with a Death Valley Driver after Christian, X-Pac, Justin Gabriel, and Rey Mysterio were eliminated. The highlight was a simultaneous Brainbuster by Aries on Rey and a Tiger Driver by Richards on Pac, both of which ended in pinfalls.

                                • Jay Lethal joined the NextGen crew against Ric Flair, Ted Jr., and Curtis Axel. Colt Cabana Tigerbombed Mr. Perfect's son through an announce table as the war between the two sides rages on.

                                • Former US champions clashed and Antonio Cesaro outwrestled Dean Ambrose to move forward in the Gold Rush tourney.

                                • In a switch-up of Survivor Series matches, Ted Sr. defeated C.M. Punk with a piledriver.
