Re: WWE '13 Universe Mode Thread - How's Your's Going?

    July | Week 1

    Friday Night Smackdown

Vince McMahon came to the ring, gloating about the absolute defeat of Team Laurinaitis the past couple months, capped off by the Hell In A Cell victory by Stone Cold at Capitol Punishment. To celebrate, McMahon introduced the still World Heavyweight Champion to the ring. Austin made his way to ringside, claiming he doesn't care about the McMahons, Laurinaitis, Bret Hart, or anyone else. Austin delivered a Stunner before leaving the ring.

    The Miz def. Sin Cara

    Christian def. Cody Rhodes
Furious with losing, Cody Rhodes grabbed a lead pipe and began beating Christian with it after the match.

    Sheamus def. Daniel Bryan
The 2 men brawled outside the ring before the match even officially started. After the bell rang, Sheamus dominated most of the match, and survived a YES Lock to submit Daniel Bryan with a submission of his own.

    Edge def. Alberto Del Rio
Alberto Del Rio has been on a roll as of late, but that came to a screeching halt. With Stone Cold Steve Austin watching from commentary, Edge put away the Mexican Aristocrat with a Spear, bringing an end to Del Rio's dominance.

Re: WWE '13 Universe Mode Thread - How's Your's Going?

I just had my first PPV since I got my rosters organized how I want them and I have the mjority of my guys movesets and entrances somewhat realistic. This was Bash at the Beach and it was hosted by my WWF and my WCW/NWA brand. Flair retained the World Title vs Steamboat by getting himself DQ'd, Luger won the US title from Barry Windham, Road Warriors won the tag titles from the New Age Outlaws, Mr Perfect retained the IC title in a triple threat match vs Austin and Beefcake and then Austin retained the WWF title vs The Rock in an iron man match. I was using a custom arena so I couldnt edit Austin out of the IC title match and he had to wrestle twice. There were two other matches that I don't even remember because the cpu booked guys that I had no interest in using

Re: WWE '13 Universe Mode Thread - How's Your's Going?

I seriously think that Universe Mode has waaaaay more potential than THQ is currently achieving with it...

It's tiring to constantly hope that there will be a storyline attached to a match...and they should make it way more common. Back in the day in the Attitude Era there was very few, if any matches that played out without any kind of inteference, of something happening before or after the match.

Plus I'm now stuck with Matt Hardy going after The Rock's championship...for 4 months now and Matt lost every single attempt so far...I wish THQ could program Universe mode so that:

Let's say the matchup is Rock vs Matt Hardy. And I choose interfere and choose Austin to be the interfering wrestler. The match start, referee get's knocked down, Austin runs up to the ring and stuns Rock...

Then it really should be automatic that Rock and Austin starts a feud...the following night on raw. Or have a triple threat between Hardy, Rock and Austin.

Also, make different kind of interfering scenario's. The referee doesn't have to be knocked out every single time. You can perhaps enter the ring, stun Rock, Hardy is DQ because of Austin's interference and the feud between Rock and Austin is triggered.

I'm a programmer, and seriously the above should be very straight forward to program.

              It would:

              a) give the user even more control on starting feuds and making his favourite wrestlers go after the title or after each other.

              b) give universe mode a more realistic feel.

If had a scenario where Lesnar would interrupt Undertakers entrance on every single match the Undertaker had for a whole month....then come the PPV...and Lesnar isn't on the match card and Undertakers faces Kane...with which he had no run in etc.

              Doesn't make sense.

A lot of the stuff is done half heartedly.

Re: WWE '13 Universe Mode Thread - How's Your's Going?

All valid points. There's a ton that they could do with Universe that they don't or only do halfway. And I wish they'd let us just work it the way we want to and not limit stuff like belts per show (I don't like this anyway-- why not belts per roster?), etc.

It's been said before but if you use the sim option on the matches, storylines will not progress so if you are simming those Matt Hardy / Rock matches, the Universe is going to keep booking it. So you might try watching it play out. I'm not sure about the interference, but that might stop the story from progressing too (like changing the match settings will) but I'm not sure.

Also, you could just set up Austin as an enemy of the Rock and see if that helps.

Do we know this for a FACT? Has a developer actually came on here and told us this, or is this just what some have experienced? Don't get me wrong, i'm not trying to say that you're wrong, you could 100% correct. I just haven't seen a developer from the game come on here and actually say that this would cause cut scenes not to happen and things like that.

Mainly I commented on this because I too would like to know if this is really the reason for not having cut scenes. I think that'd kinda be some BS if the only way storylines could continue is if we were involved with every match whether it be watching or playing.

If it turns out that we HAVE to watch or play in order for storylines to continue, i'll probably start off my Universe with just two shows, RAW and Smackdown. The more shows, the more matches i'll have to play and watch and this stuff takes time. It would take for ever to watch or play 15+ matches and i'd probably get bored of the game quicker if this was the case.

It's a fact. It's somewhere in the documentation, either in the manual or online in a FAQ or somewhere from THQ.

Hey Fellas! Im having a ball with my Universe!

At TLC (PPV) Hunico defeated Eddie Guererra in a TLC match to get back his Cruiserweight belt!

Ryback outlasted Ultimate Warrior, John Cena, Taz, and Mark Henry to retain his Hardcore belt in a Championship Scramble.

Next up Azrael (c) (original female CAW) vs Kharma in TLC match for Womens Championship

The Crew (original CAWs) (c) vs Kane 99' & Taker 99' in a Tag Team Tornado Ladder match for the TT belts

Hollywood Hogan (c) vs The Rock 99' in a TLC match for the World Heavyweight Championship (Hogan STOLE the Belt from Rock last PPV)

Its been fun, right now I have it set up to where the NWO is running the WCW with The Alliance (Goldberg, Lesnar, Ryback (Hardcore Champ) & Chyna) slowly but surely wanting to take over!

Hunico and Camacho have been feuding with Eddie Guererra as well as Rey Mysterio and Sin Cara, plus Im thinking about downloading all of the Guererro family to make things interesting! Then add Mysterio and Sin Cara to The Cartel (Camacho & Hunico)

In the WWF The Nation has been fueding with the NWO because Hollywood stole the belt from Rock(even though NWO is WCW its still been fun cross scheduele fights)

The only issue is I scheudle my own matches, and I have about 30 guys on the inactive list, and it gets annoying when I forget who I have listed as inactive, maybe Ill change them to free agents for the minor shows and when they start improving actually put them on a roster and save the major shows for the elite talent..

Have just about everything unlocked in Attitude Era and am about to download the DLC. Before I start up, can you guys give me any pointers on what I should do when starting this? I've heard things such as turning something off and then back on in order to get cut scenes/storylines? Can anyone tell me what to do? Thanks!

Can anyone tell me what to do? Thanks!
Some folks suggest toggling storylines off and then on. I didn't have to do that but it can't hurt. The other thing that seems to work for people is to use the match editor to turn on interference for all match types in which it's applicable.
