The Consensus on Cutscenes?
So what is the consensus on cutscenes/storylines in WWE Universe? So far, I've only seen a couple and they amount to little. What is everyone else seeing? I saw someone say to turn the storylines off and then on again, has anyone else seen this work?Writer for Operation Sports

Re: The Consensus on Cutscenes?
Been having tons lately, had a branching storyline with Ryback and Edge, and a ton of cut scenes, like Edge come out and attacking Ryback before match, Ryback calling for help from the back, interference, just have had a lot.Come hang with me on YouTube! Re: The Consensus on Cutscenes?
I've had a couple, but hardly any really. It's been mildly frustrating, because it makes my Universe mode a bit bland and boring since I can pretty much beat the AI at will. There's no drama.Comment

Re: The Consensus on Cutscenes?
You're lucky, I haven't had a single one yet. I wonder if just using all CAWs and none of the regular wrestlers in my Universe affects anything.Comment

Re: The Consensus on Cutscenes?
I seen on the THQ forums that the more attitude era superstars you have in your universe, the more new cutscenes you get. I tried it and it's true. It sucks, because I didn't want to use any of them but I've been getting alot of stuff I haven't seen before.Sideline Football League

Re: The Consensus on Cutscenes?
From the Aubrey guy at THQ:
Hey guys,
A hot topic discussion around here has been why more storylines don't show up in Universe Mode. To help you get more of them while playing through your customized Universe, we thought we'd provide some helpful tips. If you have other thoughts or on-topic questions, feel free to add them to this thread, but if things veer off topic or turn nasty, we'll delete the offending posts and lock the thread.
First, be aware that cut scenes don't just occur randomly - they come about as a result of an ongoing storyline, just like on WWE television. By default, storylines are four weeks long and are built and set up by the Universe system. If you go into a match and edit or change it, then the in-process storyline will be turned off.
Fortunately, you don't have to play every single match in order to see the storylines - you can simulate them if you prefer. But, since an important part of the storylines are the cutscenes, you have to actually see the cutscenes for the storyline to continue. That means that you can't simulate your matches from the Universe match card menu, but must actually go into the match and choose to have the AI play through it for you. That way you'll see the cutscenes and your storyline will continue progressing.
Note that if you create your own matches, you can still see cutscenes, but their results will not affect the booking of following weeks' matches.
Additionally, please be aware that during storylines, Superstars will likely face one another multiple times, but with different cutscenes and different results - again, just like on WWE television.
A related topic has been the "Universe Feud Packs" 1 and 2, which unlock storylines specific to "Attitude Era" stars. In order for these to show up in your Universe, the Superstars in question need to be assigned to a roster that is in turn assigned as a Host Show to a Major Show. For instance, you can add the RAW is WAR! Roster as a Host Show, or simply change individual Superstars' roster affiliation to a current Host Show.
Universe Feud Packs 1 and 2 contain more than 50 Feuds, but require the addition of "Attitude Era" stars in order for them to start showing up. Note that there are still many storylines that can be accessed by the contemporary roster and your created Superstars.
We hope this answers your questions about how to best utilize Universe Mode!Sideline Football League

Re: The Consensus on Cutscenes?
I don't like that...
WWE Universe Mode is supposed to be about running your own WWE in your own vision - how can you do that if in order to get storylines, you have to do what the game tells you to do?
In years past, the game actually tracked how you played, and built it's stories and feuds off of that... now the game is pre-scripting storylines, and if you choose to play the game your own way, you won't get storylines?
That doesn't make sense to me. That's a huge step back.Comment

Re: The Consensus on Cutscenes?
I've also noticed when you look at the match from the screen that shows the whole card, if there is a option to interfere, then it is not likely a match with a cutscene.
Also, make sure you go to match creator and turn interference on, its off by default.Sideline Football League

Re: The Consensus on Cutscenes?
So can someone explain to me what exactly I can and can't do? For example, can I:
1) Change the match speed from quick, normal, and epic?
2) Use special guest referees?
3) Change any of the participants?
4) Change the match type?
Thanks!Writer for Operation Sports
