A hot topic discussion around here has been why more storylines don't show up in Universe Mode. To help you get more of them while playing through your customized Universe, we thought we'd provide some helpful tips. If you have other thoughts or on-topic questions, feel free to add them to this thread, but if things veer off topic or turn nasty, we'll delete the offending posts and lock the thread.

First, be aware that cut scenes don't just occur randomly - they come about as a result of an ongoing storyline, just like on WWE television. By default, storylines are four weeks long and are built and set up by the Universe system. If you go into a match and edit or change it, then the in-process storyline will be turned off.

Fortunately, you don't have to play every single match in order to see the storylines - you can simulate them if you prefer. But, since an important part of the storylines are the cutscenes, you have to actually see the cutscenes for the storyline to continue. That means that you can't simulate your matches from the Universe match card menu, but must actually go into the match and choose to have the AI play through it for you. That way you'll see the cutscenes and your storyline will continue progressing.

Note that if you create your own matches, you can still see cutscenes, but their results will not affect the booking of following weeks' matches.

Additionally, please be aware that during storylines, Superstars will likely face one another multiple times, but with different cutscenes and different results - again, just like on WWE television.

A related topic has been the "Universe Feud Packs" 1 and 2, which unlock storylines specific to "Attitude Era" stars. In order for these to show up in your Universe, the Superstars in question need to be assigned to a roster that is in turn assigned as a Host Show to a Major Show. For instance, you can add the RAW is WAR! Roster as a Host Show, or simply change individual Superstars' roster affiliation to a current Host Show.

Universe Feud Packs 1 and 2 contain more than 50 Feuds, but require the addition of "Attitude Era" stars in order for them to start showing up. Note that there are still many storylines that can be accessed by the contemporary roster and your created Superstars.

We hope this answers your questions about how to best utilize Universe Mode!
This is like the worst thing to have. So I have absolutely no control over my own Universe mode? Worst ******* Universe 3.0, bring back 2.0.

For those talking about turning Interference "ON" from the match creator, it is my experience that you have to turn it off for every match. It is not my experience that the option stays switched on.

Not if you do it from the menu screen.

I was wondering the same thing because I kept having to cut it on. No biggie it takes less than a half second but if there is a way to keep it on I'd rather do that just incase I forget every now and then

Yeah, just do it from the main menu. Options > Match Creator > then select the type of match you want interference to be turned on by default.

I decided to try this and yes it works. I took me a few minutes to changes the entire match options. But thought in WWE there are run in all the time on TV for singles and tag and handicaps etc.... So I changed them all.

I'm trying to muster up some cut scenes in "U". I think there might be a solution, I will let you know what happens.

Yup...right after modifying the interference rules...the first match in "u" - The Bella's came in to interfer with Karma and Eve...hopefully is not a fluke.

Match #4 on the card The bella's vs each other...cut scene Beth comes out to sit ringside...2 in a row...maybe we are on to something...

I get run in's plenty with Interference on, but I don't get much in the way of storyline cut scenes, unless I play a "story" match, but unfortunately most of the story matches are nonsense booking that have nothing to do with anything that's going on in my Universe...

ok so whoever it is that has access to the WWE dev... here's a question/comment:

we have a GREAT option that is called superstar threads which allows us to change the gear colors & what not & we can change the outfit types for our CAW as well...

                          BUT

in universe mode we have to edit a match to change their outfits & according to the above post & info from WWE dev, that dis-allows storylines.

am i understanding this correctly & i this fixable? further more is there a way to allow attire changes without editing the match or at least have the atties rndomie automatically in univese mode.

i have no problem (well... slight issue) with how manully editing matches halts the automatic storylines BUT that basically null & voids the superstar threads" feature in universe mode were vriety is key.

just my two cents. hopefully something that can be addressed ina patch.

                            Re: The Consensus on Cutscenes?

The booking in terms of storylines in my "U" is dumb, utterly dumb. I've restarted my "U" several times trying to find something that works, and hopefully with the new one I've set up but yet to start it works. But in my two previous ones as an example of the stupidity, the first week on RAW Primo & Epico faced off against Ziggler & Swagger, second week Primo v Swagger and Epico v Ziggler. Then during the third week on RAW Primo & Epico faced Ziggler & Swagger again but for the #1 contender spot, cutscene at the beginning of the match showed Ziggler & Swagger being all buddy buddy, and then about 2 minutes into the match Ziggler goes to make the tag and it initiates a cutscene where Swagger refuses the tag and walks off leaving Primo & Epico to pick up the win. Fast forward to Extreme Rules, Primo & Epico lose to R-Truth & Kofi, following RAW Epico is in a TT match with someone other than Primo, against Ziggler & Swagger. Seriously? How did a tag team break up during a #1 contender match and then get back together, but when you go into the edit superstar screen it shows them as heated rivals? Then to top it off it disregards an existing TT and pairs a member with someone else.

blnkimgn that makes no sense and I feel for ya. I'm having trouble getting storylines going as well, I'm trying to play almost every match and I think I have a few things going that may lead to something, i'm hoping I don't get something as stupid as what happened to you.

I've done the turn stories off, then back on trick and I have gotten some cut scenes. But they dont seem consistent. Like I have a CAW TT that got into it with Hunico & Camacho it was cool every minor show had something to do with the fued, then after the PPV they moved on to Primo & Epico

I only play with CAWs that I have created, and simulate the rest.
