Universe Mode Idea: How to Fix TNA
So I have an idea for Universe Mode: fixing TNA. My question is, what do you guys think is wrong with TNA, and how can it be fixed? I plan on having the Carters sell TNA, as rumored in real life. Other wise, I need some advice.Ravens: In Ozzie We Trust

No idea what's wrong with them since I don't follow it. But my pipe dream for the TNA sale is Billy Corgan purchasing it then bringing Tommy Dreamer and his House of Hardcore promotion in to take over.Owner, Spear Interactive

Re: Universe Mode Idea: How to Fix TNA
U opened a flood gate asking this question lol. 1st thing is they have no orginal ideas. They either use old WWE storylines or use the same TNA storylines repeatly.
2nd they miss use most of their talent and some of the talent on the roster u don't even see. They have devalued the TV title just like WWE has with the I-C and European.
3rd they need to sign some of the independents stars like Kevin Steen,Davey Richards and etc.
4th do 8 free payperviews and then 4 that you buy
5th bring in the hardcore division, and develop tag teams with young talent then after development split them up and keep 1 or both.
6th also bring in some retired wrestlers to work with the young talent and also use in a manager/authority fashion
just a few thoughtsComment

Re: Universe Mode Idea: How to Fix TNA
Inconsistent booking. Run by the Carter family. Crappy gimmicks. Run by the Carter family. They have a television title that hasn't been seen in months. Dixie Carter is the authority figure on screen. The X-Division title hasn't had the same rules for any considerable amount of time without changing them.
That said, they have some good talent. They just don't use them right, and they need to trim some fat (read: fire Jesse Godderz and Robbie E, as well as a few others).Comment

Re: Universe Mode Idea: How to Fix TNA
Don't they already do this? Well, minus the whole "you buy it" part? Haha, sorry.. I honestly feel that their "free-per-view" Thursday shows are better than their actual 4 ppv shows.
Which is another complaint I have. Their ppvs are lackluster.Comment

Re: Universe Mode Idea: How to Fix TNA
Its close but I would up the shock value of the purchase ones. Major plots would be settled on those with a few new ones on the horizon. All titles would be defended... speaking of which the TV title would always be defended on Spike and payperviews.Comment

A huge problem is that Bound for Glory is just like any other show in real life, try to make a more of an attraction.Comment

Re: Universe Mode Idea: How to Fix TNA
The primary problem with TNA? The Carter Family.
They have so much talent and use to worry about wrestling more than ****ty storylines.--

Re: Universe Mode Idea: How to Fix TNA
TNA has the same problem that all pro wrestling has.
1-We no long believe because now its "sports entertainment".
2-You must build to a ppv. Guys cant fight each other at 4 strait ppvs and every week on tv and think us fans are going to get excited to watch them fight every time. Go back to the old days where the stars only fought each other at a ppv and build the story up for 4 months then I might buy a ticket to the show.
3-stop devaluing you titles. dont give titles to the flavor of the week. build up stars and make the championship mean something.
4-stop using left over, thrown away talent from wwe. or guys who are way past their prime. create your own stars that people have never seen before. example--its hard for us fans to believe in someone like ec3 when we know he was derrick bateman from wwe who was always getting the crap beat out of him.
5-use managers again. managers who double cross, cheat, give wrestlers objects, etc really help build story. make sure the managers have good mic skills
6-stop having everyone with a plain name and plain clothes. people must be unique and stand out. have a good gimmick and be a great character.
but then again what do I know...I am just a fan of pro wrestlingComment

Re: Universe Mode Idea: How to Fix TNA
So, I've been thinking about this more, and I've read some of the (numerous) wrestling sites and blogs that have tackled the topic. One in particular stuck with me. Below is what I am thinking about doing with my Universe mode (at least to try it out)So, I've been thinking about this more, and I've read some of the (numerous) wrestling sites and blogs that have tackled the topic. The premise for this is that the Carters sell the company to a group of investors and fans who wish to keep on-screen authority out of the picture. They realize that the "committee" format has failed in the past, so they want to try something new. Because they want to stick with the "wrestling matters" theme of the brand, all title shots will be determined by a points system, similar to the Bound For Glory series. I'm thinking that the top points leader at the end of the PPV will be entered into a rivalry with the World Champion for the following month. This will give title matches some story, and still allow for feuds. With only 6 PPVs per year, I'll have 2 months for feuds and for all non-contending wrestlers to rebuild their points in hopes of getting a shot at the next PPV. In the event of a tie, there will be a tiebreaker match at the PPV.
This is how I will have points allocated, based on the outcome of matches.
Submission Victory = 10 Points
Pinfall Victory = 7 Points
Countout Victory = 5 Points
Tag Team Victory (your teammate gets the win) = 3 Points
DQ Victory = 3 Points
Draw = 2 Points
DQ = -10 Points
So, where I need some help is with these few items.
-How should I determine the contender to my secondary title? I'm going to create a new mid-card title for them (because I don't want just X-Division, and TV titles are hard to manage without customizing the card weekly), and I'm thinking about calling it the International Championship (however, that is open to suggestions).
-How would you suggest I set up the tag team contention? Best combined score from the singles rankings? Separate rankings exclusively for tag teams, with the best combined score?
-I still want to do at least one special event at a PPV every year. Thinking a tournament, possibly taking the top 8 points leaders and putting them in a tourny or maybe the top 6 into a battle royal. Also, the thought of doing this for every ppv? One 8-man tournament, one 6-man battle royal, one 6-man elimination chamber, one 6-man Hell in a Cell, one 6-man ladder match, and one other match yet to be determined (and open to suggestions)
Please give me feedback on this. If I go through with it, I'll keep you all updated on how it goes.Comment

Re: Universe Mode Idea: How to Fix TNA
I'm not sure what you mean by "beyond overpowered" but in my 9 months of universe play, I see more pinfall wins than submission. This tells me that the submission should be worth more points.Comment
