Yeah Jericho's podcast is different then Austin's. It was a nice calculated move by the WWE to dodge controversial topics that may arise.

Haven't seen the Cena one yet but looking forward to it.

Jericho's podcast was okay. More conversational than Austin's, but that's true of their actual podcasts too. I think Austin would have asked more pointed questions, but anyone expecting anything hard-hitting with any current wrestler is crazy. Those questions were asked to Vince and Triple H because of their positions.

Just my personal opinion, and I could be way off, but if you think Cena's whole attitude these days is a huge work or just flat out don't like Cena, I can see hating the podcast. On the other hand, if you actually believe, he believes the things he says, then I think it was a solid podcast.

We got an answer to the question we all wanted to know, "Would you ever go heel?" We got some stories of guys spending time together on the road, which I think is always entertaining. We got some talk about one of the vets mentoring the young guys, which is common place in all sports.

I just don't see how one can come away from the podcast and say it was terrible, unless like I said, you just flat out hate everything Cena.

The Jericho/Cena podcast was fine. The whole thing about "the fans wanted new people, we gave them new people and now they're booing them" just sounded so out of touch. I hate when wrestlers act like us dumb fans couldn't possibly understand the wrestling business.

I did enjoy Cena saying hes the biggest heel in the company, I've been arguing that for years! lol

I agreed with where Cena was coming from with Reigns and them giving the company something new. For years we heard the internet community complaining about getting tired of HHH reigns during his hey-day and Cena vs. Orton part 13. Then they complained about part-timers. The constant complaint was "we're tired of the same old stuff, give us something new"

They gave us new (Reigns in the role of top baby face) and everyone hated it. I don't think the Smarks wanted something new, I think they wanted to call the shots. Smarks think they know the business and think they know better than the people who are in the business. They don't want "new" they want "what they want". As far as what that is, it looks like right now it's just to be a part of the show (see CM PUNK chants, occupy Raw movement, etc.)

Stop it. They didn't give us anything new, they have us Cena 2.0. I don't even like calling him that because it's an insult to Cena.

And this wanting someone new is crap to me too. No one was asking for anyone new. We've been asking for the same people: Ziggler, Bryan, etc.

I feel like only in this era is WWE so stubborn when it comes to responding to the fans.

Almost all of 96 is up now, which is when it truly started turning. The official announcement didn't come u tilt he beginning of 98 though, which I suspect is when they consider it the official attitude era. I say throw everything up there though from 96-99 and call it a day.

I think there's a little truth to it. I think "smarks" are sometimes kinda like those music hipsters who only really like a band until they make it big; a year ago people were clamoring for Reigns. Granted there were other factors too, but as soon as he became a company endorsed guy, they turned on him. I think "smarks" tend to really like heels as well.

I do see lots of fans on internet who are like that.

Ziggler/Bryan type superstars have great ring skills/mic skills, but are bashed for not having the look

Reigns/Cena type superstars have the look, but are bashed for not being great in the ring/having good mic skills

Orton/Cesaro type superstars have the look and great ring skills, but bashed at times for lacking in mic skills

So you'll never win with people. There'll ALWAYS be people bashing someone for something. Though even people who have the look, ring skills AND mic skills will still get bashed for something eventually also. We could have someone who looks like Reigns/Lesnar,talks on the mic like Rock/Jericho,and wrestles in the ring like HBK/Bret. People will STILL bash them for something!

GTFOH, man. Y'all kill me sometimes. Of course everyone isn't gonna be liked 100% of the time. And while I do see Cena get bashed, I also definitely see him get his fair share of props. While I'm a proud member of the Cena Sucks club, I've always said how I'd love to see him and Punk main event multiple Wrestlemanias. Not Punk and Bryan but, Cena and Punk.

Smark this and Smark that. I don't even know what that is anymore. Someone who just goes against what WWE wants to do is what I'm guessing it is to most of you.

i would be all for that, I'm still on 1994 for Raws

to me the term smark means people who think the hot flavor of the moment should be pushed to the moon right now and that usually means talents signed off the indy circuit and in certain cases people like Ziggler and Ryder

I need the 98's. I was in the middle of watching from the first Raw before the network came out. When it came out they killed all the streams and so I've been stuck ever since. I was able to get up to where the 98 Raws are just after WM14. Hoping to pick it back up.

I actually hate the term smark (hence why I used quotes). You are right though about Cena. Sentiment has turned around on him, but it wasn't all that long ago that there was a legitimate majority that genuinely thought he was awful.
