Caved. Been wanting to watch older wrestling again so got the Network today.

Back at it with the 2005 Royal Rumble. It is a really solid show all around. Every match is at least very watchable to very good. The Rumble itself was a very underrated one I don't hear people talk about enough. From the older vets destroying Puder. To Angle and Michaels. To Batista and Cena. And that double quad tear.

I miss Eddie Guerrero. Dont remember his promo game as well as his in-ring work, but man he was solid in every area as a professional wrestler.

I have tons of free time these next 8 days, haha.

No Way Out 2005 was...okay. Cena vs. Angle was a very solid match. Guerrero and Mysterio vs. Bashams was also solid, I love seeing good tag team wrestling. But that barbed wire steel cage match was a lot better than I remember. Good amount of blood and both JBL and Big Show were solid in it.

Onto WrestleMania Goes Hollywood now. The opener? Smackdown Tag Team Champion, Eddie Guerrero vs. Smackdown Tag Team Champion, Rey Mysterio. Awesome.

            That segment was crazy.

Bubba singled out this one woman, was really insulting her begging her to take a shot at time, until finally she started spitting at him, then Cyrus was like, "I can't believe she spit on him, that's so disrespectful!"

Then later someone had their leg tripped from a guy outside the ring, and Cyrus said, "I think it was the woman who spit on Bubba who tripped him!"

Styles: People don't pay money to be insulted like that.
Cyrus: Why, the fans insult the wrestlers all the time.
Styles: (under his breath) You make a good point.

That reminded me of when Ventura would correctly knock the intelligence of a babyface, and Gorilla could not help but agree.

Continuing on with June 99 shows...

              Spoiler

              Onto KOTR

              Spoiler

I know we never officially found out who did it, but were there any favorites? I heard Bossman because he technically wasn't part of Corporate Ministry for this one week in time so they wouldn't be breaking the rules. But they obviously never revealed any name.

I'm surprised WWE hasn't tried harder to get their stars on these types of shows. Celebrity Family Feud with WWE superstars would go over well in the ratings.

Which Superstars do you think would make the best reps?
If you ever attended a WWE live event (house shows and PPVs) which wrestler(s) did you buy a ticket to see? https://forms.gle/d5uh8iifDbfDBdDd8

Not sure how many people saw it, but TNA had a week of Family Feud shows in the Steve Harvey era.

They wouldn't stop showing Lacey Von Erich.

I find it odd how WWE chooses to present this. They present it like this is a shoot tournament, where they are all just friendly competitors, with zero rivalries. And yet the in-ring is the usual ultra soft style WWE wrestling. Odd dichotomy.

Finishing up No Way Out 2006.

Been a tough few months since the death of Eddie. The Orton angle was just not in good taste.

So far though 2006 has been interesting. Carlito could have been a main eventer. Chris Masters was always his runner-up that he double-crossed. If they never feuded they failed that story. Those two could have easily been World Heavyweight Champions if not WWE Champion.

The Royal Rumble was super...bland. it had its moments. New Years Revolution was the better PPV, in my opinion.

No Way Out was okay. 2006 up to WrestleMania has honestly just been okay. I feel like since Eddie's death everything has been going not as hot. His last feud with Batista was going so well. I loved Eddie's character at that point after the Mysterio feud.

Benoit was also so damn good in the ring. Not ready for 2007 either.

Last note. I didnt realize how quick the fans started to sour on Cena. After like 6 months as champion he already started to get boos and Cena sucks chants. Weird. He was still a solid character with the Chain Gang at that point.

Random question: Is Leilani Kai in the WWE HoF? If not, what the ****?

Just watched an MSG WWWF show from 1977, and she was in a tag match and was awesome. She was at WM1 and WM10. She held titles in WWF, NWA Mid-Atlantic, and All Japan. Was always a great worker, even at times when the women's in-ring was mediocre to bad.

Gonna have to put her on my list, along with Rick Martel, of talent that needs to be in the HoF.
