Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
I'm loving going through these old WCW Wrestling shows, brings back so many memories of Saturday morning and night on TBS.
Said earlier how good Cornette was but many of the guys then were really good and passionate on the mic. The matches and story lines were really good.
I can only imagine how good Magnum T.A. could have been, dude was all around talent. Most matches were short against the jobbers but he had good matches against the top guys. He could also talk and showed great emotion.
I didn't care much for the Rock and Roll but it's good Robert Gibson had Ricky because he seemed so dull, when he talked a lot of times you could barely hear him.
Another guy that I forgot was so good is Gorgeous Jimmy Garvin, remembered he was very charismatic and could wrestle but he could also talk and was funny. Miss these times man.
Also I totally forgot The Warlord started in WCW being managed by Baby Doll.Last edited by Sinner; 02-23-2019, 07:43 PM.-= Never argue with an idiot, they drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.=- Edward MurphyComment

And not much has changed in the decades since. Thankfully Ricky has enough personality and charisma for 100 people.Comment

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
Just got to an episode of Smackdown with Regal and Tajiri challenging Kanyon to say: she sells seashells by the seafloor. I was already in tears but then Tajiri said it more clear [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]
smh, DDP just started a match. I've never seen WWE turn a bigger star into an immediate joke and leave him there like they did DDP.

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
Long recap coming up: (The Hebner loop gif I'm sure people here will love for obvious HHH hating reasons)
No Mercy 99:Spoiler
-1st ever tag team ladder match! Or as King just realized, the Terri Invitational Tournament. From watching this best of 5 series, fans really didn't care about the first 4 so much. This match put the teams on the map. Fans went crazy for all big spots in the match. I'd pinpoint Jeffs legdrop over the top of the ladder as THE moment when everything changed for both teams careers. Fans went crazy, standing ovation, and no "this is awesome" chant needed.
-Also in this match, JR with some (unintentional?) great lines. "Getting jerked off....the ladder". "They're reaching for the sack (of money)"! This match also debuted the "coyote cam" that King was obsessed with. Speaking of Kings obsession, somehow in his interview with Terri backstage, no wardrobe malfunction happened despite her having only 1 button done up and nothing else underneath.
-Mankind vs Venis. I think it's important to mention that Venis has Mr.Rocko in his tights (which is what this feud basically revolved around). Mankind reaches in Val's tights. He slowly pulls something out (like a magician doing the handkerchief trick), revealing it as Mr.Rocko! Later in match, Socko is handing from Mankinds pants. King was hoping so much it was Socko and not anything else. Venis eventually wins with a "testicular claw".
Raw after No Mercy:
Spoiler
-Funny moment, the ref caught off guard falls during Kanes pyro.
-Dudleys headbutt before the "wassup" days.
-Acolytes slowly turning into the APA with their first backstage card game. Game ends with Acolytes beating Hughes and winning Fink! They have a match vs NAO and FINALLY have a new theme (it's as if WWF forgot Acolytes weren't in Ministry anymore, having same theme as Mideon/Viscera for months). "Harold" costs Acoltyes the match and receives a wedgie from Bradshaw and an awkward shower confrontation (not Heidenreich/Cole level, but somewhat close).
-Mae Young challenges NEW womens champ Fabulous Moolah
-NEW IC Champ Chyna wants to fight anyone, enter Chris Jericho!
-Mankind gives Rock his new book. Later Al Snow finds the book in the garbage and tells Mankind about it. Almost 'Festival of Friendship' level type moment where Mankind reacts to seeing his book like Jericho did seeing his name on the list. Mankind finds Rock backstage, goes at him and breaks up Rock n Sock.
-Bossman vs Big Show feud is sadly continuing. Big Show receives news his dad died, and GTV reveals Bossman set up the whole thing. Bossman/Chaz stories in 99...want to forget that.
-Terri Invitational Tournament winners Matt/Jeff come out and declare they're not the new brood, they're the hardys. Edge/Christian come out and shake hands. Gangrel(who enjoyed Terris "services") comes out and gets beat down. Minus his entrance, I don't think there's a single thing I cared about Gangrel.
-Main Event, Rock n Sock vs Hollys. Foley comes out, doesn't acknowledged Rock, sits on steps the whole match. Hollys enter at "allegedly over 800 pounds"! HHH comes in, costs Rock the tag titles, Foley doesn't care.
-Raw ends with Austin/Rock beating up HHH. Austin hits HHH with a stunner. HHH gets up, Austin hits him with another stunner. HHH gets up, fights Hebner, but Hebner fights back and throws beer at HHH. HHH gets up, Austin comes back, hits him with 2 stunners. HHH gets up AGAIN, Austin decides to make peace offering, fans chant "drink the beer", HHH gets hit with a 5th stunner!
SD:
Spoiler
-Foley comes out and challenges Rock. Rock gets mad at Foley, because only in WWF could you hear and get a pop for saying "These are the peoples testicles!".
-Venis challenges Austin to a match. Minus Kai En Tai feud, Venis really hasn't done any storylines.
-Weird watching this era same time as WWE now. Just finished Jarretts story where he was attacking(verbally and physically) women. Now the womens division stars a Moolah(as champ) vs Mae Young. Mae and Moolah both did the DX chop during the match. Tori,Jacqueline,Ivory and Luna all show up afterwards. That's the entire division....
-Henry/Godfather backstage. Godfather giving Henry advice. They've changed so much since their Nation days.
-SD ends with HHH hitting Austin with a pedigree. Rock hits HHH with a rock bottom. Sucks we didn't get this triple threat at WM. Probably would've been bigger than any of the Rock-Austin WM matches.Attached FilesComment
