Just watched the Austin special in full. Wow. Amazing.

I thought it was going to be brand new for the network. I haven't seen it anyway so it was brand new to me, but I didn't know it was produced a while back.

It didn't come out the right way.

But I know some WWE fans wouldn't have bought it if Benoit was edited out. Don't see the same happening because of New Jack.

Not that I entirely blame them for making it "difficult" but man. I'm really surprised we're almost a week in and there isn't really a "WWE Network Downloader" being passed around the internet.

There are ways to do it that are pretty hit or miss but, kudos to WWE I guess.

I haven't had a problem with it since Tuesday on all devices except my 360.

I'd say it's gone off pretty well and the issues now are pretty limited. Not bad for the 6th day.

                    Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread

Still in 80's land this week. Watched Summerslam 88 yesterday. If you don't like Jerry the King Lawler on commentary then you're gonna loathe "Superstar" Billy Graham. To make it interesting though, make a drinking game out of it. Take a drink whenever he says "brother." Guarantee you'll be fall down drunk before the main event.

Also, love this exchange between Gorilla and Jesse watching Rick Rude at Survivor Series 88.

Gorilla: Where did he get those tights?

Jesse: You like those tights, huh Gorilla?

Gorilla: W...where do you get stuff like that?

Jesse: Did you ever were tights like that?

                    Gorilla: Absolutely NOT!

Jesse: I'd like to see you dress like that.

Gorilla: In my era you had a choice, red, black or green, that's it.

Jesse: Very colorful of your era.

                    Gorilla: Maybe with a stripe.

Jesse: Ooooh a stripe. That was for the outlandish people, right?

Commentary in the 80's was outstanding. Heenan and Monsoon, Ventura and Monsoon and even Ventura and McMahon.

I agree, when they weren't focused on the match they can say some pretty funny crap BUT they always turned it back to focusing on the product rather than promoting other crap or being boring.

McMahon to me is a bit underrated though his "1,2,3 THEY GOT HIM...oh no he didn't" routine could get a little aggravating at times. McMahon also had a tendency to rush his delivery sounding like he's going out of breath when i'm pretty sure he was calm as can be. That being said, he was pretty solid at letting his partners work the mic and he evolved (or devolved depending on your point of view) from a very serious announcer in the '70s right up to the Hulkamania boom to being a cartoony character afterwards.

Even guys who didn't have as big a profile in regards to announcing live matches were at the very least listenable and not too annoying like Mean Gene Okerlund and Lord Alfred Hayes. They all had distinctive personalities AND styles that made the listening experience sometimes better than the actual product in the ring.

I was watching the first Raw and cracked up when the color commentator from some radio station I think had an exchange with McMahon like this:

                          McMahon: "Welcome back to Raw"

Other guy: "You guys missed it. Shawn Michaels pulled out a blade."

Yeah, I thought that was odd. Especially since they brought him in about 5 or 6 years later.
