Yes, this is the "PG" era.

Anyone else watching the Raw Flashback? The Smoking Gunns had their debut promo.

No, this era is generally known as the "Reality era" or the "Universe era" depending on who you talk to.

The shows have been PG way before this era started.

As for what the Ruthless Aggression era was about? Basically what it says in the name. There was a lot more intensity in the ring, plus the brand split was actually treated like a brand split back then. You had guys like Brock, Angle, Benoit, Orton, HHH, HBK, Biker Taker, Young Cena and the neutered version of ECW.

I've heard PG era, and Universe era. It just depends on who you talk to.

Still, I get a kick out of the occasional "HOOOOO! Tough Guy!" promo

Heenan did the whole flipping through channels schtick a million times better than Rob Bartlett. That whole part about the "lady goes to Dallas" was HILARIOUS.

I don't know why I don't remember it. A scrambled channel came on and he got real close, trying to see through the scramble, and Vince covered the TV and said "not that channel!"

It's stuff that when you're 10 or 11 it flies over your head.

I vaguely remember this happening, but can't put my finger on when. Is it on The Network somewhere?

The Smackdown Six! They really need to make sure they get old episodes of Smackdown going on the network as well. During that Era, around the back half of 02 I think, the brand split was fully in place, Paul Heyman was booking I believe and both shows had two distinct feels. The larger names like Triple H, Undertaker, Austin, Kane, RVD were on RAW and it was a more entertainment heavy show while Smackdown was more of a wrestling oriented product. There were some great matches going on over there as the brand was being carried with just quality matches every week with what was dubbed as "The Smackdown Six." Eddie and Chavo Guerrero, Edge, Rey Mysterio, Chris Benoit and Kurt Angle. It was some good stuff.

Isn't Lesnar one of the "Smackdown Six"? Chavo Guerrero being included in that makes almost no sense to me.
