Maybe now they know how USA Network feels when having a show scheduled at 11pm,but never getting to air all of it cause WWE has overruns of Raw all the time.

It's not like this is a tv channel or something where advertisers are paying for specific ad time and the overrun is cutting into it. Just take time off of whatever show is scheduled to air next(which is what they're doing I'm guessing)

Shortsightedness. They only scheduled an hour. There is no real reason to end the interview other than to keep to the original program schedule. That is why Vince so casually called an audible.

WWE needs more programming on their network like this. But it is hard to get the intrigue like that on a consistent basis. The Punk Podcast from last week definitely made this one more must see.

Should be interesting to see if/what Punk has to say in response in his follow up podcast.

It almost seemed like Austin was setting up a "why won't you allow color anymore?" type of question but then he was buzzed that he only had 4 minutes.

This is just a fantastic show. They definitely need to do a part 2.

They should do this every week with Austin's pod.

This is the type of programming the Network needs.

And it would barely cost them anything to make it. Stick 3 cameras in a room at his ranch, make him sit in front of them at a set time every week, profit.

That is a tricky situation. More programming like this opens up the business even more. That is a tough line to walk.

Live programming wise they are obviously going after a younger audience. Programming like this is more for the mature audience. That could lead to some difficulties. This was still pg programming, but the older crowd were probably the ones interested in this. The younger crowd, even though they know it is staged, they don't want to be constantly reminded of it.

Edit: Forgot to mention the Punk story. This broadcast makes me think we will see CM Punk in a WWE ring again. Say what you want about Vince, and FWIW I do think he is out of touch, but he must be charismatic and reasonable. The boys usually go to bat for him and when there is bad blood Vince typically rectifies it. I would have liked to hear Vince be more specific and go into a little more detail though. Going by people's comments it seems they think he completely opened up and I disagree with that. His answers were general and vague like "there was a lack of communication." That is not really an answer.

Also was hoping the PG era would be discussed in some way.

Then they should have this kind of programming on later at night (11:30ish) and just let it fly.

They should try to syndicate Austin, Jericho and JR (if there's no bad blood) onto the network somehow. They all have very entertaining podcasts.

Even though I am not a fan of Jericho I love his podcasts from what I've heard. You hear good stories there.

There is another problem though. Once you make it company sponsored, how much will that diminish the openness of the podcast? What I mean is that it runs the risk of becoming a WWE hype show of sorts or a situation where what is discussed has to be approved.

A one time show is fine, but a weekly show is another matter. I guess my worry is that it will become something of a hype show or something like that.

The only people who would watch those programs are people interested in seeing them. Kids[and adults] who have no interest in watching Stone Cold talk to a guy for an hour about behind the scenes will simply not watch.

Therein lies the problem though. Who are they marketing the network and product to?

They are splitting what was already a thin demographic.

Stop acting like mark is an offensive term.

You were not part of the initial comments. It was sausage, blitz, and jvalve. They have not taken issue with my comment. Maybe they did not like it but they did not comment. You decided to take up the mantle.
One of them said it might not have been a work. They inserted the question into the discussion. You take issue with me using the word mark but did not take issue with someone saying it was not a work. You want one side to have a say but don't want to hear the other side. My usage of the word was not incorrect, it sounds like you just don't like the word. That is fine but be honest about it.
Now hold on. I didn't say anything about whether or not it was planned. I said Miz's reaction looked about as real as it could get. A similar situation unfolded at a party we had last year, where a guy was chatting up some girl. Later in the night, the girl's boyfriend shows up and someone must have told him this guy was chatting up his girl. So he walked up to the guy, hit him in the face, and told him to stay away from the chick. The guy went straight to the floor after being hit and tried reasoning with the girl's boyfriend ("I didn't mean anything by it, I swear." "I didn't now she had a boyfriend."). The entire Uso/Miz stuff tonight looked almost identical to those events.

I don't know if it was planned or not, but if it was, it was a great acting job by the Miz.

Miz did a great job with that. I completely agree.

They should have more segments like that with few words. It was well done. But it was a work.
I was not trying to be abrasive and looking to pick fights.

Really enjoyed the Austin-Vince conversation. I found Vince to be very honest and forthcoming on a lot of topics. I was surprised he talked about Punk as much as he did and to Vince's credit, he publicly apologized for the timing of the severance papers being delivered to Punk.

You get the sense he's still upset they couldn't work something out and keep Punk around. Vince definitely left the door open for a return and didn't attempt to bury Punk, which lends more credibility to a lot of what Punk discussed last week.

I am disappointed Vince doesn't see Cesaro as a star. I think that's been a booking issue mostly. He may not be a great promo but I am not convinced he is terrible on the mic, either.

Strange that J.R.'s firing topic made Vince more uncomfortable than Punk. But, Vince and J.R. have always had a difficult relationship, so I guess it's not that surprising.

I like Stone Cold bringing up guys being afraid to challenge creative due to fear of getting fired or losing their spot. His challenge to the boys was a good one and hopefully a few guys take it to heart.

Also, it sounds like WM 30 was it for The Undertaker.

I think doing these shows weekly would run the risk of burnout and as another poster said, perhaps the dialogue wouldn't be as open because the podcasts now operate outside the WWe umbrella for the most part. Plus, no way guests are flying to locations each week for a taping so watching a 90-minute Skype chat wouldn't be great from a Network perspective. I also am pretty sure guys like Dave Meltzer wouldn't be allowed on and they have been good guests on all the podcasts so far.

I do think doing a show like this every 3-4 months with a big-name talent (Rock, Triple H, Cena) would be cool.
