Cody Rhodes Asks for Release from WWE.

According to his twitter account, it's been accepted. 10 years he's been around. Another wasted talent gone.

Man, that sucks. Was hoping he would go back to the Dashing gimmick. He was great in that role. As well as others. He pretty much pulled of everything they gave him.

Got dammit, man. Him and Sandow are such big misses in my eye.

I feel like he was close to dropping the Stardust gimmick, too.

        That's too bad.

Yeah I thought I read a while ago that he tweeted he was done with the Stardust gimmick, then the next week he was on Raw as Stardust

I really hope he left due to burnout and not creative reasons, then again this is someone who's really passionate about the business.

I wonder if he just needed an extended break following his dad's passing.

You can tell from his personal Twitter account that he's still grieving.

The WWE has really wasted some great talent but hopefully this is more due to burnout/grief than anything else.

Honestly, this might have been the biggest waste of talent by WWE ever. The fact that he was never world champion is an absolute crime.

Agreed. He should have taken it off Punk.

In my opinion, he was at the height of his career when he was fueding with the Authority. Should've went on a big singles run rather than teaming with Goldust.

I can't blame him. It's obvious wwe was never gonna elevate him to where he wanted to be. I wish him well.

Ugh, this one hurts. As many of you have said, he's definitely one of the biggest "misses" ever in my book. The guy could make any character work, and he was fantastic in the ring.

This was definitely my favorite promo of his, and I don't even think it aired on the main show:

I feel like he may be gone for a couple of years, and then hopefully return fully recharged.
