Re: On this day in professional wrestling history...
January 21st, 1990.... The Royal Rumble. The Ultimate Preview. The 1990 Rumble Match was the first encounter between Hogan & Warrior leading up to The Ultimate Challenge at Wrestlemania 6.
Fun Facts:
- Tony Schiavone was commentator alongside Jesse Ventura which ended up being Tony's last PPV working for WWF before becoming the voice of WCW.
- A young Shane McMahon was a Ref outside during the Rumble Match.

That Hogan Warrior spot was magic, it’s a shame moments like that are nearly impossible to create todayComment

Re: On this day in professional wrestling history...
Well I think kinda by definition that creating magic is near impossible no matter the generation. I think they have the capability to do it now, it’s just a matter of whether or not they feel like doing it. And Brock and The Fiend found themselves in a similar scenario as Hogan and Warrior the roof would absolutely blow off the place. And it would be a fun twist on that same situation since you’d have two mega heels instead of two mega faces. To a lesser extent(not everyone would get it) I think if Brock and Keith Lee faced off we’d get another massive reaction.

Re: On this day in professional wrestling history...
It's fitting that this Rumble be used for this date as Triple H & Mick Foley discussed their infamous Hardcore Match at the 2000 Royal Rumble. This PPV saw the debut of an ECW Legend, an insane Tag Team Tables Match between the Hardys & Dudleys, THE ORIGINAL Dance Break during the Royal Rumble and The Rock never actually won a Royal Rumble Match?
