Had to do their best to paint Canada in a decent light.

As we prepare for Night 2 of Wrestlemania 36, let's take a look at more classic Wrestlemania moments that happened on April 5th.

It was the Hoosier Dome in Indianapolis where Ric Flair shouted to the roof top that Elizabeth was his, before she was Randy's girl. Hulk Hogan battled Sid Justice after being eliminated from the 1992 Royal Rumble didn't work for him... brother. The Streak moved to 2-0, Bret Hart and Roddy Piper face off for the IC Championship and a big Wrestlemania return. To this day, the only Wrestlemania to take place in Indianapolis.

2 Future Hall of Famers, Bret Hart & Roddy Piper clash for the Intercontinental Championship

The Streak moves to 2-0 as Undertaker battled Jake Roberts..

The Ultimate Warrior returned to save Hulk Hogan...

Not the best WM, but definitely my favorite. Monsoon/Heenan elevated that show a ton. Flair/Savage is a top 5 all time WM match. Had the storyline, heat and in-ring. In many ways it's the perfect Ric Flair storyline, as well as the perfect Savage storyline.

People who started watching wrestling in the past 15-20 years just don't get how huge those old PPVs were at the time. Back before Raw, and back before the top guys wrestled in competitive matches every single week to the point now where no one is really special.

Sid vs Hogan as a match sucked, but you only saw those two beating up jobbers on syndicated weekend TV for months at a time while they built up their feud via promos and angles. Just seeing those two have a match, by itself, was a huge deal.

The business was trending down at that point, but they had still had 62K in the building that night. Then again, we see how many people pack stadiums for WM in the modern era in spite of fan interest and viewership going down and down.

It may be April 9th, but one year ago on April 8th saw the debut of Mercy The Buzzard which led to the Firefly Funhouse, which eventually led to The Fiend... which led to the awesomeness of John Cena vs The Fiend one year later.

The opening match with HBK and Tito Santana is some of the best work Heenan and Monsoon have done

34 years ago today, we were doing the Wrestlerock Rumble.

                        Other Highlights:
                        - On April 20th, 1996, prior to a ECW Championship Match between Shane Douglas & Raven, Shane said Beulah McGuillicutty was cheating on Tommy Dreamer while she was cheating on Raven. Dreamer confronted Shane, only for ECW to give birth to HLA and Dreamer to utter the phrase.. "I'm Hardcore, I'll take both." Maybe Rusev & Lashley should have took notes from Dreamer.

                        - On April 20th, 1997, WWE presented In Your House: Revenge of The Taker where Undertaker would face Mankind for the WWE Championship. Stone Cold defeated Bret Hart, and Savio Vega would beat some kid named Rocky Maivia.

That would make tomorrow the anniversary of what is probably my all time favorite Raw moment, the Austin/Bret streetfight where after it got broken up Austin was hiding in the ambulance and attacked Bret

20 years ago today... David Arquette SHOCKS the Wrestling World. It was truly the greatest night in the history of our sport..... In Vince Russo's mind.

15 years ago we saw one of the most memorable finishes to a match (match itself was real nice too) in Raw history.

27 years ago... The WWF Champion Hulk Hogan faced off against IWGP Champion The Great Muta at Wrestling Dontaku 93. Neither title were on the line.
