On this day in professional wrestling history...
Thought this could be kind of a fun idea where we can post milestones of events that occurred throughout time. I was inspired because:

7 years ago today, Time Warner announces that AOL would be spun off as an independent company, effectively ending largest merger in American history.
Since the merger in 2001 that contributed to the death of WCW, Time Warner stock plummeted 77%. America Online's plunged over 99%, with most of that drop coming within the first two years of the merger (AOL total stock value went from $226 billion pre-merger to $20 billion by the end of 2002).
The split was made official in December, ending what is often called one of, if not the biggest, corporate merger disasters in history.

On this date in Pro Wrestling history Heat (formerly Sunday Night Heat) ended it's nearly 10 year run of 513 episodes. The final card was taped 4 days earlier and featured Snitsky defeating Super Crazy, Santino Marella defeating "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan (in his final match as an active roster member) and Lance Cade defeating Jeff McAllister.

Re: On this day in professional wrestling history...
Looking at the resource I use for this thread I discovered that today is the anniversary of a lot of wrestling related deaths.
On this date these individuals died:
Junk Yard Dog
Classy Freddie Blassie
Ray Combs (best known for hosting Family Feud and his couple appearances on WWF PPVs)
On a happier note (or not, depending on your POV) 29 years ago today Honky Tonk Man won the IC title
(sorry the VQ of this youtube video sucks)
