RAW vs Smackdown Live: Week by Week

I figured this might be fun to rate the shows on a weekly basis and see which people think is the overall better show at that moment in time. Tonight concluded episode 4 of each show since the draft, so we'll have to backtrack a little bit. Here's my ratings so far:

    Week 1: RAW > SDL
    Week 2: SDL > RAW
Week 3: They both sucked. Tie for both being ****ty.
    Week 4: SDL > RAW

So far I give SDL the edge as it's pretty much been more compelling since Week 1 post-draft. RAW's best feud is Banks/Charlotte or Enzo/Cass vs JeriKO. Balor/Rollins has been a mess and if this really is a new era, Balor will walk out of Summerslam with that WWE Universal title...I just don't see it happening. Reigns/Rusev is blah. Idk, RAW still feels too long and uninteresting. Not feeling Foley/Steph. It's all been downhill since Week 1, which set the bar too high.

On the other side, Ambrose/Ziggler has been amazing, those dudes have cut some sick promos, Dolph in particular. The Eva Marie booking is extremely entertaining. Cena/Styles is great. Bryan and Shane are far more interesting IMO than Steph/Foley.

But let's not get it twisted either, Heath Slater is clearly carrying both shows on his back right now

How would you all rank the two shows so far?

I would agree with most of that except I think Rusev/Reigns has been really good and Cena/Styles has been just ok.

I'd have em tied at 2 a piece.

Haven't been too enamored with Reigns/Rusev or Balor/Rollins. Raw has been "better" than it used to be but it still has it's "lull moments"(which to be fair, should be expected in a 3 hr show). Enzo/Cass and JeriKO has been good, although I'm ready to see KO go solo again. Washed Jericho does nothing for me anymore...it's like watching Shaq on the Celtics.

I agree with Cima in regards to thoughts on Smackdown although I can do without Heath Slater. Does nothing for me at all and isn't funny at all.

        Week 1: Raw
        Week 2: Smackdown
Week 3: Smackdown (even tho both sucked, Smackdown still at least kept me watching)
        Week 4: Smackdown

To me Raw feels like its going back to that stale slow pace of crap that we've been used to while Smackdown still feels fresh a month later.

Of course Smackdown still feels fresh after five years of mediocrity. Its psychological.

As far as wasted talent, I think it's clear that Sami Zayn and Bray Wyatt are being underutilized. Maybe Bray could be feuding with Orton if he wasn't involved with Brock. But Zayn is wasting away on RAW after WINNING his feud. IMO he should be on SDL and they could make a feud between him and Bray work somehow...

How is Bray being under utilized??? He is part of the WWE title feud.

Yeah Bray's already in two programs basically. He's floating in the World title scene and also the recent tease of abandoning Rowan. No way he's being wasted.

Sami though, I agree, needs to be on Smackdown, or better yet, why not give us Cesaro vs Zayn best of 7?

To me, Bray should've been in the title scene wayyyyyy before the roster split. He's not being wasted now...but before, you could make the argument.

But that's another discussion for another time.

Did you watch the beginning and/or end date of Smackdown last week??? I'm guessing no. But if you did and didn't know that Bray was in the title picture, lol.

i think Raw does have a better flow then it did before the draft, but I think SD is a better show overall because I feel there's a better effort in character development (Eva Marie for example) and better booking

I'd say the fact that Bray isn't on the 2nd biggest card of the year constitutes being underutilized. I'm assuming he does some sort of run in on Sunday

Eh, both shows suffer somewhat by having the joint PPV be the first real PPV after the split (yes Battleground was after the split, but it didn't have a split build up). Limited number of matches can happen for both brands. I don't think missing out on this Summerslam means too much in the grand scheme of things. That being said, I feel like he'll be there after the title match as well. I'd be shocked if he wasn't.
