Re: AEW Off-Topic
My issue is that I don't care about Janela/Spears (altho I like both), the tag title match I'd be fine with missing, neither womens match excites me, and PAC vs Hangman is just ok. That's over half the show.
Think I'll just watch the NJPW San Jose show tonight.Comment

Re: AEW Off-Topic
Cody & Jericho with great storytelling from bell to bell, they absolutely killed it. Loved the old school throw in the towel finish by MJF. Not how I saw the match ending but figured Jericho would retain with the winner of Moxley/Omega likely being his next challenger.Comment

Re: AEW Off-Topic
Based on what I saw of the Mox/Omega match, it was fine. If you like that type you'll love it, if you don't you won't like it. Pretty simple as that really.
I'm not a huge fan of deathmatches. Hate ones that are done every week on the indies with fluorescent light tubes and crap like that. This was obviously more tame then those ones. But it was still a little OTT for me, but I need to watch it in full before making a final decision.Comment

Re: AEW Off-Topic
I'm all in on AEW, since creation. I have given up on WWE as long as they insist on 4 match a year Lesnar, and their boring creative direction even though I rarely missed a raw for years.
Like many, I had to try and figure out if I really wanted to spend $50 for a ppv.
Never bought the other AEW ppv's but watched the free ones.
Back and forth with the pros and cons. $20 would have been ok and $75+ an obvious no for me.
Decided to get it and re-evaluate next year when they hopefully have some kind of subscription or reduction in price.
I don't think I got my moneys worth from it.
I'm glad to see it because I enjoyed most of it,but I really doubt I will spend $50 on another.Comment

Re: AEW Off-Topic
I think my only issue with AEW at this point is that it's not MORE of an alternative to WWE. Yes it's different, and I would argue better, but it's still very much WWE inspired in terms of presentation, etc. Like I wish it was more 1980s NWA to 1980s WWF, as opposed to 92/93 WCW compared to 92/93 WWF.Comment

Re: AEW Off-Topic
Seeing as they plan on sticking to the 4 PPV per year model for the near future, I highly doubt they drop the price from $50.Comment

Re: AEW Off-Topic
PPV was alright.
Pac vs Hangman was nice, but felt like something was missing.
Jericho vs Cody obviously got impacted by what happened to Cody. That was a brutal fall. If anything, Cody might have been lucky they had the big ramp. If it was the WWE lower one, that would've been a 4 foot further fall leading to much worse damage. The MJF turn we all knew was coming, so now will be interesting to see what happens next. I actually thought the moment he got sprayed, it was Jericho coming back to celebrate with him. MJF joining Jerichos group would've been cool.
The Mox vs Omega match, we don't get to see this type of wrestling anymore, so it was nice to finally have it back again. Now this is a true hardcore match! Sure, not everything should be "blood and guts", but every so often it's nice to have, and needed in matches like this.Comment

Re: AEW Off-Topic
My biggest problem with the Moxley/Omega match is that as someone who has only watched and followed the TV show so far. That level of brutality seemed really unwarranted. Like the feud didn’t do a good enough job making me think this is what’s needed to end all this. Would have rather seen them have some matches escalating the situation each time. But that’s really more of a nit pick I guess.
