MLW has released a statement saying otherwise after everyone's favorite Dave reported that Tony signed with AEW.

MLW Statement: “Unless AEW elects to reach out, Tony Schiavone cannot proceed with AEW or any other company doing anything.” Bauer stated last month. “I was unaware of him doing the digital stuff until I read it in this week’s Observer.”

So he says Schiavone can't do anything with another company, then he admits that he's already done something with another company. I feel like MLW's contract might not be super iron clad.

Well I mean Tony just quit showing up for the tapings like a month after he was so excited to go to work for them.

Tony is a sports broadcaster now, as much as it pains the IWC.

AEW has added some championship implications to these shows as the Tag Title Tournament will wrap up in Charleston, WV on Oct 30th with the semi finals taking place in Pittsburgh on Oct 23rd.

Now it is officially the greatest day in the history of our sport. Tony Schiavone has signed a deal with AEW to be apart of the TV Broadcast Team. Tony even appears in the new BTE breaking the news himself.

AEW has announced Tony Schiavone signed a deal with the company to join their television broadcast team and help produce live events.

Also new BTE using Ambrose's staph infection as part of the angle with Omega. Omega basically cut a really good promo on him in the beginning of the show. Wed Nov 6th AEW TV comes to Charlotte, NC at the Bojangles Coliseum.

Cody promises AEW will be airing in Canada.

He better be right, and it better not be some premium channel. Not sure how many casuals they're gonna attract if you have to pay $5-10 extra a month to watch 1 new tv show a week on the channel.

And if it's not on basic cable, they've already lost in Canada vs NXT.

Apparently Tony will be producing the broadcast team, and filling in when necessary. Tony is super modest when it comes to his on-air commentary ability. When he is comfortable and confident he is still so great.

Personally I think what they had him do on Nitro all those years ago made me (and many others )dislike him. Watch an 1998 Nitro and you will see a midcarder walking down to the ring, and the commentary talking over the music and ring announcer just to talk about what Hogan did last week, etc. It was a complete mess from a technical standpoint, but when the action was in the ring Schiavone had a lot of energy and was really great.

I'll always like Tony because I associate his voice with late 80s/early 90s wrestling

I feel like WWE was like that too during that era. Too many times you'd just hear commentary talking over ring announcements and so on.

Seeing the way things went the first few shows for AEW, there's definitely room for improvement in many areas. The production for sure should be cleaned up. The little things like commentators repeating themselves (one of the guys in last show said Tope Suicida 10 different times on that show), and lack of really getting the new fans invested/informed on who the talent is, it all makes a big difference.

Didn't even know they worried about winning Canada in the Wednesday Wars.
