    Re: AEW Dynamite Thread

This week's show delivered and I was expecting it not to be that good after having watched what was put out on RAW/SD with an empty arena. Cody and team really knocked it out of the park with how well the show was planned out. I think having some of the face talent on one side and the heel talent on the other really helped things out.

MJF and Spears gambling out there on the matches was so fun. MJF did a hell of a job out there getting himself over even more, and adding to the no crowd.

I guess if they do come back next week, they can always have the show from the Hardy compound. There is so much that they can do there after all of the stuff that was done during Impact. Hell, they can make the Blood & Guts match be an hour long to take up time. Have the street fight happen outside of the compound with a circle of junkyard cars with their lights turned on in the dark with Best Friends vs. Lucha Bros. It could turn out to be quite fun.

It's a bummer that both Lee and Hardy didn't get to debut in front of a huge hot roaring crowd, but they managed to pull it off.

Per Tony Khan, due to the circumstances going on in the world Blood & Guts will not take place next week. Says AEW will continue with live shows every Wednesday, and that they will run that match when the time is appropriate.

I don't watch AEW enough to know if they take themselves seriously or not for the most part, but that Matt Hardy teleportation stuff was super cringe.

That segment began with Jericho trying recruit Vanguard1 (a drone) into the Inner Circle. It was definitely meant to be bizarre fantasy and humor.

I think it would've worked out of the ring, but the whole thing was just bad in a wrestling venue.

The teleporting, Matt doing the Broken stuff comes off as stupid in an otherwise normal wrestling setting, Jericho no-selling the whole thing (fits as a heel not taking it seriously, but just makes Matt look dumber in comparison)...meh.

I'll give them some credit for trying it, because you couldn't do something like the teleportation in front of a crowd, and again it probably works fine if they do it at the Hardy Compound or something...but that entire segment as it ended up was a swing and a miss for me.

That teleportation thing from Matt Hardy last night was a little too much guys. And AEW is supposed to have more of a sports feel. Can't feel like a sports thing if you have someone who can teleport to the ring. I was wondering what was up with the whole point of that Brodie Lee eating steak segment and then it hit me that he was spoofing Vince McMahon. Nice job. Last night's show wasn't that good as other weeks though. Best match of the night was Omega/Sammy Guevara

Is this all shots at McMahon?

Last week he said Daniels wasn't the first out of touch old man who's overlooked him.

This week, he gets mad when others eat before he's done, and then kicks someone out for sneezing.

This week, it's a reference to the fact Vince never sleeps. Brodie gets mad at one of the Dark Order members who yawned and said there is "no reason to yawn in my presence. "Don't you ever yawn in my presence again."

Regardless of the opinion on the jabs being taken at Vince, Brodie can do some great promo work.

So they’re already on to attacking Vince on tv?

Where have I seen that before?

To be fair, Hunter has some kind of Dark Order thing going on in NXT at the moment...

Hilarious Jericho segment. Unleashing his dogs on Vanguard when they will never catch up to it. That made me laugh for sure. Now that's good **** pal! I really do enjoy seeing AEW stars in the limited audience to watch the matches too. WWE seems to not want to do it. Some great action for Dynamite though. The Omega/Trent match. Shida/Anna Jay was solid too with Jay looking cheeky out there. Loved how Britt Baker got involved too.

Looks like Brodie Lee's character is a spoof of Vince McMahon? At least he gets to portray a character here unlike his time in the WWE. Same goes to Ty Dillinger errr I mean, Shawn Spears. Nice to see him get a win in the main event tag team match. I didnt know he's close to 40 years old. Huge 12 year difference from his spouse Peyton Royce. Wow. WWE is in trouble if they can't make quality empty arena shows like this since Florida is on a strict lockdown.

It's so weird how he left WWE, and went to AEW to basically be in the same spot. He had his feud with Cody but after that, he disappeared again. As for his wife, I honestly thought it was more than 12 years because I thought Peyton wasn't even 25 yet.

                                Re: AEW Dynamite Thread

I think Brodie did have some problems with Vince. Or at very least just things which bothered him.

In his interview with Jericho he was talking about his WWE gimmick basically just being based on how Vince perceived him after seeing how he looked with his long hair and beard. He's from Rochester but Vince thought he looked like some southern guy.

And was mad at how little his opinions mattered. Waiting hours for a meeting with Vince, by time it was his time up, Vince was busy and nowhere to be found. And then he gives in his ideas for storylines, basically gets told "Ya, I'll read this on the plane", never to be heard about again.

                                So he obviously was frustrated.

I said it before, Vince being the chairman AND CEO is probably taking its toll. People say WWE really declined in 08 because they went PG and the whole Linda campaign thing, but I felt it was more because Linda was gone from WWE. Seems to me like Vince just took over her job while continuing his. So double the workload which increased even more the bigger WWE got.

The person in charge of storylines and characters is the same one also spending so much of their time with the business side like TV, sponsors, stock holders and all that. It's why I feel when HHH/Steph take over things will change. Steph does all that business stuff while HHH does the TV shows with stories and all that.
