The only other one I remember was in WWE 8-10 years ago or so? Whenever they were pushing their app as a second screen during commercials. Don’t even remember who was in the match, just that they ended one during break.



No company is going to do it often though. It’s something that, like time limit draws, will pop up every once in a while to remind you it could happen.

That's the point though. You know matches won't end before the commercial break. If matches were done in 1 segment, no breaks, it would be fine.

It would also help make matches more interesting. We don't need to see the same matchup 3 times if each one goes 10-13 minutes long. But if each instance is only 5 or 6 minutes, it leaves you wanting more, which allows the next encounter to actually be different.

I think it was in the 00s where matches were all 1 segment except if it was the main event. Doesn't mean you need 20 second squashes, but not 15 minute middle of the show matches either.

Did they throw to a commercial break during the main event? Because watching live…that match did not suck. Crowd was into it throughout.

His whole entrance is a spectacle, and part of the aura and feel of the character. Much like the talking over Blacks entrance, the talking and shortening of Suzuki's entrance is unfortunate and something AEW should get better at.

Speaking of talking, I was actually starting to get annoyed at how much talking was going on during the Black/Dustin opening match. Felt like there wasn't even a second in there where we could hear the actual physicality or crowd response. Just one person talking followed instantly be a response, etc. That is one area where NJPW is miles ahead of everyone else.

One thing I'll gladly admit, I'm so, so happy that Tony Kahn has finally realized that Marko Stunt shouldn't be anywhere near a ring (especially on cable television).

Well, unfortunately they're friends and will likely have a lot of tag team matches together. [emoji53]

They're likely going to give him these type of matches until they have a legitimate feud lined up.
