I'm looking at January. AEW was going to win this week by alot automatically. If they are still pulling a 1.0 3 mos from now, that will be great.

Over 100k viewers in Canada watched.

Might seem low, but remember, Canada has 10% the population of the US. And the channel AEW airs on isn't on basic cable and wasnt listed on the tvguide.

Over 100k is still a great number. Doing the math, that's similar percentage of canadians who watched AEW as Americans. All while being on a channel less accessible in Canada than TNT is in the US, and basically going up against one of most watched hockey nights of the season in Canada.

But the big thing for AEW in Canada, if fans don't watch live/pay for the premium channel, they can watch it on demand the next day(assuming they have a basic cable account)

You dont get the same pop from the crowd if its Janela or Havoc.

Also, Hager is one of the few known free agents out there. Other than Punk, who is going to get the reaction that Hager got last night?
I guess if your opinion is that they needed a big debut, then it is what it is and they achieved that.

In my opinion, adding Hager complicates the top of the card and adds a worker that has proven, time and again, that he's not got what it takes to maintain a upper midcard spot.

If they keep him off the mic and give him a mouth piece/don't let him speak, maybe it'll achieve what they want. Otherwise, he's just a guy that they wasted assets on just to have a surprise at the cost of other, more deserving talent.

          Re: AEW Dynamite Thread

Watched Dynamite yesterday and it was a very good show with the opening Cody match being the best match of the night. Can't wait for the Moxley va Omega match at Full Gear and seeing Hager was good and he fits with Jericho's group because he's huge compared to them. Could have a good heel group and I have always been a fan of Hager and thought he like so many were underutilized by WWE.

But overall, it's great to see two shows go head to head again. Haven't been interested in watching wrestling weekly until this year and with Dynamite and NXT, it should only get better every week.

Looks like on their YouTube channel AEW is going to start a show hosted by Tony Schiavone featuring dark matches from the previous week's Dynamite.

I have no idea who the more deserving talent is though? That's the consistent criticism that I'll agree with; they did a ****ty job of any type of character development or making me care about anything outside of match quality.

Darby Allin vs Jimmy Havoc face off to determine who gets a title shot against Jericho the next week on Dynamite.

I would rather they just have a match, and not involve a title shot. Jerichi doesn't need to defend the belt this soon, but ... ratings.

Moxley vs Spears is cool tho.

1-2-1 vs 1-3 for a title shot, btw...

                  PAC 2-0, btw.

Even if you use Cody's lame CFB significant wins matter more rhetoric, PAC should be competing in this match.

Darby's only beaten CIMA and Havoc only has beaten Janela and Darby.

Pac has beaten Omega and Hangman. How is a single win over Cima/Janela/Darby better than wins over 2 of the 3 guys that had a shot at winning the title?

Yeah, it's very WWE. Not what I want. Especially if PPVs are $50.

I dont know how profitable they'll be with $50 PPVs.

Even WWE right before the network, people may remember how non WM events seemed like they were going downhill in buys. I think their stock was like $8 a share at some points.

AEW needs their own streaming service. AEW Network lol. And just have stuff constantly uploaded. Don't wait too long before they have too many things to try getting on the network and just have to have random releases or missing content.

They really couldn’t ask for better timing to try and establish their company and build their brand. It’s the down time of year for WWE where they won’t really have much of importance happening until the build to the Rumble starts

I'm hoping no matter what, it doesn't impact the airing here.

Something I noticed that hopefully other looked out for, the tvguide messing with AEW recording.

If you set your DVR to record AEW Dynamite, it might not record. Why? Because suddenly the tv guide has changed the listing to All Elite Wrestling Dynamite.

So a different name being listed could cause the recording to not happen.
