Re: WWE Releases
You have to admit, Black got the worst "plans changed" in the history of WWE.
Imagine being on the sideline for months, they finally give you something, film a few vignettes, make your debut on TV attacking one of the more popular guys in the company, just to be released 2 weeks later.Comment

Re: WWE Releases
The main rumor going around is selling to NBC.
With all the releases and the streamlining of departments, a sale is the only thing that makes sense.
They are too profitable to be firing people for budgetary reasons.

Re: WWE Releases
They're not going to send detailed explanations on how they didn't have plans for Santana Garrett, Murphy, or Ruby Riott, how they went as far as they could with Lana as a wrestler but she's only good as a manager, how they never knew what they wanted to do with Aleister Black, or how Braun Strowman peaked really early and they dropped the ball on it.Comment

Re: WWE Releases
I figured NBC or FOX would be in the running to buy it, but man it's hard not to think about WCW and non-wrestling people being in charge, etc.Comment

Re: WWE Releases
I think we're already at the point of WWE being run as a content provider/creator and not so much a wrestling promotion. Will probably stay about the same.Comment

Re: WWE Releases
Sounds like some talent might have asked WWE to waive/modify the 90 day no compete clause.
Sure, its WWE, their lawyers are on the ball about everything, but if you're releasing someone due to "budget cuts", how can you justify continuing to pay someone for 90 days after they're released if they request to waive that period to sign elsewhere (meaning you don't have to pay them once the period is waived).
In some cases, sounds like they want it waived maybe a few days early at most. Guess it depends on where they want to sign.
I think the April cuts are freed on July 14th, which is a Wednesday. Depends how you count the 90 days. If its 90 days after the day they're released, this could be a case of someone wanting to waive the 90 day period a few days early so they could sign in AEW and appear on Dynamite that very week.Comment

Re: WWE Releases
More cuts seem to be coming as this only gives away to speculation WWE may be sold soon. The writer who went on the podcast and talked how they didn't require her to have any wrestling knowledge? WWE has already released her (Kenice Mobley) and reports say WWE felt embarrassed about the interview she did.
The cuts are beginning from a talent perspective. 205 Live stars Ariya Daivari & Tony Nese have been released. NXT Tag Team Ever-Rise and NXT Superstar Fandango has also been released.Last edited by UFCMPunk; 06-25-2021, 02:26 PM.Comment
