Re: WWE RAW & Smackdown Thread

    A work or........

Even Canadian news picking up on Edges match tomorrow, ET Canada claiming tomorrow could be his final match?!

    They're promoting it like crazy.

Could it be planned to be his final match but someone comes in and starts a feud with him?

I always felt Sheamus would be a nice final opponent, but perhaps Sheamus turns heel after Edge wins his final match which sets up a longer feud between the two?

I want to see Edge stay around long enough to get "one more match" in a tag with Christian, whether his AEW deal expires.

Edit-Edge said it's his final match under his current contract. This definitely has to be an angle. Not the contract part, but this being his final match.

Even if it's not his final match, it could very well be his last match at home. Based on what he said last year, I could see that happening. He did basically say "next August, we get one last chance to say goodbye".

Re: WWE RAW & Smackdown Thread

I get that they have LA Knight feuding with the Miz, but wouldn't a Knight/Theory feud have elevated both guys?

They gotta let Theory cut more promos and find his character (give him the cellphone and selfies schtick back, WWE) to really stand out, IMO.

Also, it's weird to hear Cole going after Miz on commentary when he was his biggest cheerleader 10 years ago.

If AEW would allow Jericho, Danielson, Big Show and other talent to celebrate John Cena (last year), then they damn well better let Christian Cage do the same for Edge.

It's crazy to me that we never got Cena vs Edge one on one in the main event of Wrestlemania. Like they could have, but ruined it with Big Show lol.

I'm cool with Charlotte & Bianca teaming and eventually feuding and having a match at Wrestlemania 40. Just please don't give either of them the title just for the sake of it, Bayley vs Becky had a solid feud that certainly could have been for a title but didn't need it to enhance it. The story writes itself, Bianca wants to beat all four Horsewoman so she challenges Charlotte to a match.

Kevin Patrick is pretty bad. No way would Vic Joseph be any worse than this dude. SMDH

I'm not saying I had high hopes for Gallows & Anderson but it's been a disappointing return to WWE. Safe to say, they were better being Kenny's lackeys in AEW.

The dynamic between Heyman & Kayla is so good. Alright, well we got no Christian appearance in the video packages. So unless they have a surprise and Christian actually appears on WWE TV.... imagine the pop if Christian's music hits and they embrace one final time.

The WWE needs to stop procrastinating and split up the RAW and Smackdown tag team titles. It feels like the whole division on both shows are in a holding pattern until then.

And I like Sami and KO, but they need to drop at least one set of tag title belts at this point.

I just don't see why they have Cole on Smackdown if he isn't going to be the lead. They should have kept Cole on RAW, and should have never let Tom Phillips go. At least attempted to bring back Mauro.

I hate that WWE can't do overruns on Smackdown because FOX has to cut to the local news. I know WWE would want FOX to renew in the next TV deal but I want to see them go somewhere that they can do the overrun. Feels like tonight could have had a nice overrun with the roster coming out to celebrate him.

Short & sweet, here's what Edge said to the live crowd in Toronto following Smackdown.

Edit: Someone already uploaded the full video on their YouTube channel.

                              That was fast.

                              But it's what I expected.

Him saying this is the end for him in Toronto.

He said he's taking time to talk with his family, and I definitely feel like that means he's done until his final feud. Maybe he goes away until the Rumble, returns in a similar fashion as in 2020 (except without being gone for 9 years), and wraps up his return at WM?

Side note, don't know how the crowd came off on TV, but this felt like the rowdiest crowd of all shows in this city post pandemic. Lots more drunk fans this time around (for better or worse, especially my section)

Nights like that are why we ****ing love this thing.

I met Edge in the airport in Fresno in July 1998. He was on my flight back (along with a couple other wrestlers) home because they had Fully Loaded the next night, which I also got to attend. I didn't realize he was on the flight and at point he wasn't anybody anyway. Once I did realize it, my fat 10 year old *** ran down the terminal and I remember saying "You're Edge, right?" and he signed my boarding pass. Maybe he was excited someone recognized him at that point in his career, but he was a nice dude and I'll never forget that. I have absolutely no idea where that boarding pass might be.

25 ****ing years later, here we are. Never figured he'd end up one of the best ever. One of my favorites ever. I was incredibly emotional when he came back at the Royal Rumble and I'm incredibly emotional tonight. I really wish he was able to carry gold again.

This **** means so much to us.
