I also agree about Smackdown and Raw being night and day this week. I was entertained by most of Smackdown last night.

I don't know, but the first female main event in 'Mania history is pretty memorable.

Plus, this was when both Ronda and Charlotte were still somewhat interesting, although I was already tired of them "over-pushing" Charlotte.

I think Kofi was pretty memorable for everyone. I still remember him celebrating with his son. And yeah despite the bad ending the first female main event which also had one of the best builds of all time imo.

And just as important, the right woman won.

Don't think people would have the same feeling about it if Charlotte or Ronda won.

I don't remember anything from 2016 in terms of it being a refreshing wrestling year. Certainly not enough of it to remember it as some sort of sea change of refreshing.

Just looked up that Wrestlemania. Dog****, pretty much.

And yeah, re: 35, forgot about Kofi despite it being a cool moment... probably because overall he's not an actual main eventer and faced a guy I can't stand and never saw anything special in and any build of relevance he had was squashed by Lesnar on that Smackdown that I was in attendance for. Don't care about Becky and any contrived Rousey-related garbage. It's not memorable just cuz they tell us it's memorable, lol. I don't even remember anything from that match, even whatever bad ending y'all were talking about. Just absolutely zero impact on me. Both women's matches this year were infinitely better and that's with a build I absolutely fast forwarded through literally every second of. Rest of 35 was atrocious.

Smackdown was way better than Raw for sure. You guys are right on that.

It's not like anyone is going back and re-watching any of these modern Wrestlemanias, if we're being honest. WM35 had that botched pin at the end of the main event, right?

What’s your definition of a modern Wrestlemania?

Only the Royal Rumble I'll re-watch recent year stuff.

                  After 2009, I'm just meh.

RAW is such a terrible product right now and have been for a while. Hopefully the draft will help and I think at some point they'll have to split the belts back up according to brand. The crowds on RAW are as flat as 3 day old open beer.

                      Trish going heel!?

Upcoming feud with Becky, but do we also get Trish vs Lita (possibly in SA?)

Only 2nd time she's turned heel in her career. First was at WM20 when she turned on Jericho.

Re: WWE RAW & Smackdown Thread

Seems like lately we've seen an increasing amount of leaks backstage when it comes to what's happening on shows, especially full rundown of every match and segment before the show happens.

Obviously "just don't read them", which I don't, but I hate how things like this exists. It just hurts the product when a big part of your show is shock value and tuning in to find out what's happening, just for people to have all that info out there.

I'm surprised WWE isn't stricter on this kind of stuff. Go full Disney/Marvel and make it insanely hard to leak stuff or else.

I missed most of the show tonight. Was it any good? I heard Vince wasn't there.

Re: WWE RAW & Smackdown Thread

So travel issues plagued RAW tonight so for reasons not named Vince McMahon, RAW had to be re-written and work with whatever talent they had. Seeing Sami & Riddle running at the end to make the save for Owens, Riddle running to the ring in flip flops and not falling is quite impressive.

I guess the Bayley stuff was just blown out of proportion, wonder if this was the plan last week to start teasing a split before she was written off the show. It definitely felt like a Triple H show with storyline continuity compared to the million rewrites of RAW last week.

Also... the interference stuff with the Bloodline is hurting the group. The fact it happens so constant, and one of the members saves the other is getting to the point where it hurts the group and not help. It jumped the shark when Solo debuted and cost Drew, and it was overkill when Solo returned to the ring after he was banned and cost Cody. Then Solo needs help to beat KO? There's interference to progress a storyline but there's also too much interference which hurts the storyline.

This week's RAW was okay. It moved storylines so that was one thing I remembered for sure. The show kicked off with a Rey Misterio promo. Then Dominik comes out of course and they mention Bad Bunny's involvement. We know this is leading to a tag team match eventually. Rey's match against Finn Balor was a solid match but could have been better. Balor got the much needed win and its fascinating how we see him out there while Edge is gone since the WM 39 win. I had a feeling we were going to have new Women's Tag Team Champions. But the way how it happened was fascinating for sure. Lita got taken out of the match with Trish Stratus replacing her. Becky was great here as she did her best to make Liv and Racquel look good. This match was solid too and what happened post match got me intrigued to see the next part in this storyline.

It's sad Bobby Lashley didn't get his WM 39 moment. It looks like he has found his next feud though with Bronson Reed. Their match ended in a double countout which means this is just the beginning. Cody Rhodes promo was good. Nothing else to say about it. Did the Usos needed to beat the Alpha Academy? Feel like they dont need the win. Iyo Sky wins the triple threat match to become the next challenger to Bianca Belair. I hope Iyo Sky can do a better job of feuding with her. Or its just another heatless feud. I could have swore Owens/Sikoa main evented RAW a few weeks ago. Solid main event match here. Sikoa is a beast and is highly protected. The post match stuff means that we are going to see a 6 man tag team match soon.
