The announcement that will "rock wwe to its very foundation" is a new world heavyweight champion!

I'm sure as soon as Reigns loses they'll ditch the Universal title part of the name.

That new title looks nice. Combination of the original vs the new school style.

The giant WWE logo in the center of it just throws it off for me. It legit looks like one of the titles you can make from the in-game parts in 2K.

Yeah, this covers it. The logo is fine on its own but this doesn't seem like they designed the main plate with it in mind. It's like someone had an old not-exactly Big Gold knockoff design laying around and they just threw a WWE logo in the middle.

It's not bad at all and I'll get used to it, but yeah.

I like the design but hate the idea.

Roman Reigns is the main champion. Period.

Adding a new title not only diminishes Reigns, it diminishes this new title from the start and also diminishes the IC and US belts, which they've gone through painstaking efforts to rebuild to some semblance of relevance.

Quite frankly this is pretty incomprehensible and ridiculous.

Everything about the draft, everything about titles, etc I just hate it so much. They've done so much to make the company be better and then dumb **** like this happens where it makes you wonder how much progress has really been made.

RAW this week was okay. Triple H made his big announcement and it was to crown a new World Champion on whichever brand Roman Reigns isn't in. I'm still baffled at him having to carry two Belts with him. We will find out in due time. The new Title looks neat. Damage Control continues to take L's and I can only assume that they are going to break up eventually. Bloodline defeated the new LWO. Having the Usos beat everyone just makes me not buy other tag teams. This is what I dont like about the Usos still racking up wins when other teams can use it the most.

Seth Rollins had a nice promo as he has his eyes set on the new Title. Austin Theory/Lashely/Bronson Reed segment was cool too as I liked the promo that Theory had. Cold remark on Bobby for not having a WM 39 match. Rhodes/Balor was a great match too and love that its a fresh match up. Rey Misterio/Damian Priest main event match was okay. Whats important here is that Bad Bunny came out to attack Priest with the kendo stick. Love the shots he hit on Priest. I still think its funny that these celebrities get high profile feuds but at least Bunny has shown he has shown he is ready for this. So its a good way to end the show. The rest of the show was whatever to me.

The Vince rumor fleshed out is that he wanted a segment featuring Piper Niven and Candace LeRae cut and he got his wish? He's probably salty about Piper getting to be Piper instead of Doudrop and he probably doesn't think too highly of Candace hence why she was stuck on NXT forever and cut until Trips brought her back.

Anyway...

It's to be expected that a 3 hour weekly show is going to be hit or miss and I felt this kind of missed. The new belt was obviously a big deal but I can't remember anything else besides Cody vs Finn and Priest vs Rey with Bad Bunny arriving and challenging Priest to a San Juan Street Fight.

Cody did a good promo to start off too that's right. Oh and Seth and Omos was good. Omos just stood there being big but Seth looking up to him unphased while wearing one of his flamboyant outfits and giving the promo about earning his place over being a colossus was cool.

The belt looks pretty good. It harkens back to Big Gold while being modernized too. Not a huge fan of the big WWE logo but that's modern marketing for you. I guess I'm not sure how they're going to award it. Maybe that's coming after the draft in the next few weeks? A tournament would make sense but at the same time so would a ladder match at Night of Champions.

I suspect they'll do something with Roman's belts too OR if ever loses them, they'll give whoever a new design. Maybe start calling it the WWE Championship again? I agree it's kind of weird they're seemingly going in the direction of calling it "Undisputed Universal" while also celebrating 60 years of the WWE title.

I'll add too that yeah, having 3 belts for a few months is kind of goofy but it seems like an interim thing, like I said. I don't mind there being two going forward because each show needs a champ and the networks have been begging for this for over a year now.

Did they mention anything about new tag titles? I’m afraid they’re going to do some screwy finish Friday that ends up with each team getting one set and drafted to different shows

They needed to wait until later in the Summer (possibly SummerSlam) to take the belts off Roman, have the draft, have Cody drop the Universal belt (keeping only WWE title), and then reintroduce the "new" WHC.

The way they are doing this diminishes everyone and makes Roman eventually losing the "Undisputed" Universal WWE championship less impactful.

I don't think she got cut, Garganos deal expired and she was on maternity leave and once her deal was up she took time off too.

But I don't know if we'd really have Vince calling in from Stamford just to cut a single backstage segment as insignificant as that.

I doubt that title was a Vince idea anyways. It has to be a HHH idea, especially given he's probably the first guy many think of in WWE when thinking of that title (and he was the first WWE WHC, so it's fitting he brings it back).

And based on when the KOTR event got changed, that's probably the reason why. It was around that time they decided to do that title, fittingly at NOC.

Absolutely.

There should not be a new belt ever, but if there "has to be" then it should be wayyyy after Roman loses. Like two or three champs later. It shouldn't even be a spinoff of the guy who beat Roman. Especially if that ends up BEING Cody and let's face it, he needs that cache still.
