Indians Shore Up 'Pen, Acquires Hoffman!

                    Trevor Hoffman

                    7/5/08

Cleveland, OH - The Cleveland Indians started making their playoff push today by trading second baseman Asdrubal Cabrera to the San Diego Padres for closer Trevor Hoffman. The Padres are in a rebuilding mode and have sent the all-time saves leader among active pitchers to a playoff contender in hopes of giving him another chance at the postseason.
