Simply Amazing - NY Mets (Out of the Park 9)

The year is 1969. The New York Mets are listed as 100-1 shots of winning the World Series. The team has never risen above 9th, nevermind contending for the world's championship.

(this will be updated much like the one that I did with the Reds with MLB The Show. That means each game will have play-by-play and the standings will be updated daily with any transactions or milestones/achievements that occur. The team's individual stats will be posted on a weekly basis following the games played on Sunday. If any readers would like updated of their favorite players during this time, I'll follow them with updates, etc.)

I hope that you enjoy this as we travel once again back in time.

Welcome aboard our time machine to our childhood.

The Mets were part of my first baseball game. It was Strat-O-Matic and I had gotten the selection set. I had selected the Boston Red Sox (naturally), Cleveland Indians (Sudden Sam & The Hawk), Washington Senators (Hondo), New York Mets (world champs), St.Louis Cardinals (my favorite non-Red Sox player was Bob Gibson) and the Atlanta Braves (Hammerin' Hank). My parents bought the game for me in 1970 so the stats year was 1969, which was also Tony C.'s comeback year after being beaned in 1967.
