The Barons are back home and are hosting the Mississippi Braves. I enter the game with nobody out in the top of the 9th with a run already in this inning and the score 5-1, Barons. I get the first two batters to ground out then after allowing a single, the next hitter pops out and Birmingham wins, 5-1.

It's game 3 of our series with Mississippi and I enter the game to start the top of the 9th inning with the score tied, 1-1. I give up a lead off homer then get the next batter to ground out to the first baseman. After allowing a pair of singles, I get the next hitter to hit into a 4-6-3 double play to end the inning. The Barons end up losing, 2-1, for my first loss of the season.

                       1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 R H E

Its the final game of our series with the Braves and I enter the game with 2 out in the top of the 9th with a man on first and Mississippi in front, 7-4. I get the first batter to ground out to the third baseman to end the inning but the Barons don't score and we lose, 7-4.

I get called into the manager's office and was told that I made a strong showing by completing 3 out of 4 goals.

Here is my next goals assignment:

            1. Increase fielding ability over next 3 series
            2. Increase arm accuracy over next 3 series
            3. Increase arm strength over next 3 series
            4. Over next 3 series hava a fielding pct of .990 or better

              Not exactly a hot start.

Are you playing on PS2 or 3? I'm considering getting a PS2 this summer just for the show and some other games (I have a 360 right now.)

i'd go ahead and do it, if I were you.

It's what I did a couple of months ago, and I really love it, even though I've only got one game (The Show 09)

                  Great job with this, doncoryell.

                  Gotta love Closers RTTS's.

Man, you're getting paid well! I think the Padres stiffed me on my first contract - all I got was $31k/year for 2 years, and if I recall correctly, my stats were about the same as yours in spring training (I'm also a closer).

Anyway, good luck with your career - I'm having loads of fun with mine

There is a major difference between Chicago and San Diego. Chicago is a bigger market team with probably a bigger payroll budget.

                        4/20/08

Another day, another appearance. We are on the road to take on the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx. I am asked to put out the fire in the bottom of the 8th. Two runs are already in and there is a man on second with two outs with the score now 6-3 Barons. I get the first batter that I face to ground out to the first baseman and the inning is over. The closer comes in for us and Birmingham wins, 6-3.

I am right back in again as I enter the game with a man on first, two outs and three runs already in as the Biscuits are beating us, 6-0. I strike out the hitter to end the 7th then I give up a double in the next two innings as I have my longest outing of the season so far. We end up losing to the Biscuits, 6-0 as their pitching holds the Barons to only three hits.

I am called into the manager's office and he told me that due to an injury to the closer for the Knights, that our closer was being promoted to triple-A to fill in. I've been asked to now be the closer for us for the time being.
