Re: On Cloud 9: Jerome Cloud's Road To The Show (MLB 11 The Show RTTS)

The offense made it easy on me today, and I even got in the act with a sacrifice fly...I was kinda shocked that my first at-bat came in the first inning and ended up grounding out to end the inning before we could bat around, but I think my first Triple A start was rather successful...despite getting a little tired towards the end. Coach wanted to leave me in since we had a big lead and I was dominating most of the Zephyrs (Marlins AAA) the whole evening with the exception of maybe one or two. I did give up my first home run though... didn't like that very much but I won't lose any sleep over it.

Oh and this is a no pun intended disclaimer...

Re: On Cloud 9: Jerome Cloud's Road To The Show (MLB 11 The Show RTTS)

I hope I'm wearing one of these the next time I'm pitching on the 4th of July... those hats are ...WORD! But anyway, just finished dominating the competition again and when I said there would be fireworks I was talking about after the game...but I think my offense misunderstood me as we cruised to a 7-2 victory. The glove work was at times spectacular i.e. my centerfielder's diving catch that the Redbirds manager tried to argue was trapped and at other times it was not so spectacular as we made two errors, one of which led to another unearned run...I think I lead the league in that category... the boys down in Huntsville gave me a pretty good amount of those...I'm hoping we can sure up those gloves like my boy in center, but if not I'd expect for some guys to exit Tennessee and enter Alabama.

My next start is Saturday July 9th, and then the All-Star game is on the 13th...I'm hoping I can make the team even with my limited Triple A experience.

Oh yeah and we are now 5 games out of first which is held by the Redbirds.

Re: On Cloud 9: Jerome Cloud's Road To The Show (MLB 11 The Show RTTS)

Looks like the team needed me two days earlier than originally expected. I guess its because coach is getting his rotation set properly for the second half of the season... and it also means that I'll be able to pitch in the Triple A All-Star and/or Futures Game (if selected for one or both, hopefully both). But first I had some business to take care of in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

We are really making a push to make this pennant race in the PCL American North division interesting. Those Isotopes didn't know what hit them as we went out there to New Mexico and beat them 4-1. I even let our closer have some fun to pick up the save, I was feeling generous and plus I was going on short rest so I had a feeling I wasn't going to see the mound anywhere near as much as I have in my previous starts.

As the rotation currently stands I will be pitching in our second game back at home against these very same Isotopes. Right now though I need to get packed in case I get the call from the Futures Game. USA! USA! USA! I'll probably be able to make the quick trip to Phoenix from here in Albuquerque. Then from there I might also be headed to Anaheim for the Triple A All-Star Game. I have to get the Pacific Coast League the W over those International League guys.

Pitched scoreless top of third inning allowing one hit with one strikeout, and had a successful sacrifice bunt in the bottom of the third that eventually led to USA plating the first run of the game, however the World would get 3 in the 4th and 2 in the 5th en route to a 5-3 victory.

          FINAL LINE - 1.0 IP 1 H 1 SO 0.00 ERA

Entered to start the top of the 5th with PCL trailing IL 2-0 and pitched a 1-2-3 inning also getting a strikeout, was removed for a pinch hitter in the bottom of the inning. IL would add another run in the 7th for a 3-0 lead and held off the PCL to win 3-2.

          FINAL LINE - 1.0 IP 1 SO 0.00 ERA

Just found out that the Milwaukee Brewers have me on the trading block. I'm not sure how I feel about that. I mean right now the big team has an outside shot at the playoffs and I would like nothing more than to pitch alongside Greinke and Gallardo, but at the end of the day I just want to get my ticket to "The Show", so I guess I'll head back to Nashville and go about my business while the suits do what they need to better the team in Milwaukee, and if it means trading me then so be it.

              Royally Brewed
Brewers Bolster MLB Rotation At Expense Of Future
Cloud now a Storm Chaser as Brewers add Hochevar + 2 minor leaguers

Denver, Colorado 07/16- While on a road trip to play their opening 4 game series with the Colorado Rockies the Milwaukee Brewers have added another former Royals arm to their starting rotation. They have dealt promising prospect Jerome Cloud to Kansas City for former #1 pick Luke Hochevar, who is expected to join the team in time to start in Arizona against the Diamondbacks on 07/18.

He was selected 1st overall in 2006 by the Royals after twice being drafted by the Dodgers but neglected to sign with them making him available for KC.

Jerome on the other hand was an after thought when he struggled in his senior year of high school that followed a junior year that had him pegged as the #1 overall in the 2010 draft or atleast #2 behind Bryce Harper. But fortunately for him the Brewers felt that he was still had potential to be a major league pitcher and selected him. He was then sent to Huntsville, Alabama and starred for the Stars before getting fast tracked to the majors with a stop in Nashville, Tennessee to pitch for the Brewers Triple A team, the Sounds. During his time there he was named to the United States Futures Team as well as the Pacific Coast League All-Star team.

He was scheduled to start against the Albuquerque Isotopes following the break but was scratched as injury and trade rumors circled. The rumors were deflected as the organization being cautious due to Cloud's participation in the Futures and Triple A All-Star Games in Phoenix and Anaheim respectively.

Cloud should arrive in Omaha in time to join the team, as they complete their series with the New Orleans Zephyrs, for their trip to Memphis, and is expected to take the mound on 07/19 in his Storm Chasers debut against the Redbirds.

"Atleast I went out on a high note" - Jerome Cloud, after finding out about the trade that sends him from Nashville to Omaha between the Brewers and Royals.

The Brewers are currently 4th in the NL Central with a record of 49-46, 7.0 games out of first behind the St. Louis Cardinals, and 6.0 games behind NL Wild Card leading Pittsburgh.

The Royals are currently last in the AL Central with a record of 36-58, 15.0 games out of first behind the Cleveland Indians, and are further back in the AL Wild Card race.

The Sounds are currently tied for 2nd with the Iowa Cubs in the PCL Amer North with a record of 47-46. Both teams sit 1.0 game out of first, currently held by the Memphis Redbirds.

The Storm Chasers sit in last in the division with a record of 33-60 and are 15.0 games out of first.

Jerome Cloud's debut with the Omaha Storm Chasers was a success, but it was pretty obvious that Cloud was thinking ahead to his impending rumored promotion to the MLB club in Kansas City. All the signs were there as KC gave up Luke Hochevar and 2 minor leaguers to obtain him and only him, so it was only right that everyone knew that this would be his only appearance as a Storm Chaser, not even taking the mound in front of the home crowd.

He would go 6.0 innings allowing 3 runs on 6 hits while walking 1 and striking out 2 for what many believe will be his only win in an Omaha jersey improving to 5-0 in AAA and 9-1 in the minors overall.

thanks guys... I still got some work to do before my first major league start, but I'm feeling confident that I'll be able to get a few seasons out of this...I would've loved to have stayed in Milwaukee but everytime I loaded loaded the pre-trade save I kept getting traded to KC, and it was always the same trade so I decided that KC might be better for my career and deleted the pre-trade save.

Then I pitch one game (not my best performance) and get called up, so that made my day. I've also been working on his appearance to make him look less generic so be on the look out for that.
