      Gracias guys,

Alright now I didn't mean to leave on such an inconvenient cliffhanger such as what just played out. I'm really not that clever although I try to be on my offdays. In the case of the memoirs, it was a bad case of the lose every file on your PC blues.

Just 3 or 4 days ago... I was ready to go ahead and get to the juicy conclusion, then my computer decided that right after a thrilling game 7, and just a few hours before a game 7 recap... this would be an ideal time to pick up the Windows 2012 "antivirus that's really a virus" and screw our plans for a week... the resolution ended up being a full HDD format. It's my fault really... shouldn't have tried to catch CP3's debut game on the Clippers via the internet.

Anyhoo.. umm.. yeah that blew... but we are back, all is alive and well, the PC is back to normal, and it is now time to bring the NLCS to a conclusion:

For those too drunk on eggnog and Archway cookies to click the link:

We won! Haha... yeahbuddy... back to the dance.. back to the dance! back to da dance!!

And yes I am well aware in the video there is a hellacious amount of runners being gunned down at the plate by the arm of Martin Prado. Damn CPU decided the NLCS was life or death on the basepath's apparently and any extra base hit MUST be extended into a scoring play. I didn't realize it was that many occurences of this until the video was compiled.

        The 2012 World Series

The Atlanta Braves vs. The New York Yankees

Let us Meet and Greet the situation that is before us.

The Yankees have won 99 games this season led by C.C. Sabathia and Robinson Cano. To make a quick comparison they were New York's version of Tommy Hanson and Jason Heyward which is what honestly makes this upcoming matchup intriguing. I love the fact that we are facing a team that is truly our equal. This is going to be a fantastic World Series if both teams play up to their potential..

These two teams are so evenly matched you would have to believe it's going to come down to which pitchers perform under the bright lights. As we saw in the NLCS it got pretty ugly for Tommy Hanson who ultimately could not be counted upon when it mattered. Maybe he shakes that off in the World Series... maybe he puts us into a 0-1 hole we shall soon find out right?

On the offensive side of the stick, this was a boxscore from their opening round matchup with the Rangers this postseason. I post it not because anyone should be impressed or anything like that... but I just want you to have a taste of what the heck these boys from the Bronx, NY can do when the BS meter-Yankees on Fire! dial is turned all the way up:

yes.. sweet mother of Apple Jelly, the Yankees were winning 16 to f'n 1 against the Rangers best pitcher, CJ Wilson. Yes the Yankees would score 18 the next game, a feat so horrendous I put the Rangers out of their misery and didn't post the box score because it was so pitful.

That'd explain this prior comment that was made during ALDS time:

... It will be a little tougher for them that's for sure. Cano had a great series, he hit 3 jacks. But the other bad boys of the Yankees went off too as Big Tex had 3 homers, and A Rod had 3 homers... not sure if they can replicate that against the superior pitching of the Tigers but the Yankees have put the league on notice that they will not be 1 and done in any round of this 2012 postseason.
Well no wonder.. they were hitting the fugg out the baseball down there in Texas.

Everybody at this point knows what we have with our lineup. It's the best in the NL next to St. Louis. Everybody knows about McCann. What Heyward can do. It's safe to bet Uggla will get atleast one off of CC in the World Series... but again, our offense shouldn't try to get into a slugfest with the Yankees... I'd love to outduel them on the mound and win it with our arms of Kris Medlen, Jair Jurrjens, Tommy Hanson, and the wildcard, Mr. X factor... Carlos Zambrano.

Just for fun, here's a look back in the archives last time these two met... it was a warm day back in June:

MLB Network Classic: The New York Road Trip
Because we (as in the NL) won the all star game, the HFA will be in Hotlanta. An advantage we did not enjoy back in 2010, when we got to the fall classic and nearly lost it to the Cleveland Indians in unhittable and distracting as fock Jacobs/Progressive Field.

Re: The Ted Turner Memoirs part 3: Painkillers Are A Man's Best Friend.

The moment we've all been waiting for. A final showdown for all the marbles. Let us began shall we:

          GAME 1
What a brilliant, unexpected game from Jair Jurrjens. We really oughta consider letting this guy get a little more shine throughout this dynasty. He has been nothing but consistant for 3 straight years. And with Big Boy on the mound for the Yankees, it wasn't too much of a stretch to face him vs. what should be a Yankees guaranteed win
C.C. pitched spot on, after giving up a 3 run Jimmy Jack over the RF wall to Brian McCann. He retired what was it... 11 straight batters/ However Jurrjens matched him stride for stride.

Then we handed the rock over to Venters. Who usually is a splendid Setup man...

          ... ....

          ....

          ...

          SMH

Whether Yankee mystique... or Thole was just due to tomahawk a out of the zone, up near his chin 97 MPH fastball deep to right... we shall never know. All we can say at this point... we played to win game 1... and now our entire lineup is spent... and it's just game 1. The next guy is going to have to eat up some innings bros...

            GAME 2
Haha, three runs were scored again by us... damn the runs are hard to come by... but this time we were able to hold the fort down thanks in part to a reluctance to take the game out of Tommy Hanson's hands.

And really? Why the hell not? When you have a 20 game winner.. a Cy Young winner, and team Ace struggling the past 5 games.. it comes to a point, where you got to sack up, and let the chips fall where they must. If we were going to get bullsheeted by the New York Yankees.. then I wanted them to have to do it in spite of our best pitcher.

The Yankees may be full of Disney and can pull RBI singles out of their *** multiple times against us... (remember the Cano 8th inning bomb at the bronx. The RBI barrage in game 3 of the midseason series. LAST f'n night)... but EVEN the game recognizes real... and wasn't going to make Tommy Hanson turn into a complete jobber out there.

We and all of the Braves nation thank you MLB the Show 11 for your grace...

              TRAVEL DAY

Yay for travel days! Gotta love the day off rejuvinating everyone to full 100% staminas. Everybody must have took some Sensu beans, and had their Wheaties with extra fiber because now the Yankees 6 days off advantage is out the window. We're both at our peak so maybe the series is actually about to begin .. for real homie....

With the 2012 World Series deadlocked at 1 a piece we now look at some of our current developing stories at a glance:

              • Martin Prado, who had a cold annoying snowflake by his name and missed game 1 due to the MLB the Show 12 hour walking Pneumonia, is alive and well following a three hit performance in game 2.
                ..
              • The Strategy to pitch around Mark Teixeria and go after A Rod has worked well for us as Alex Rodriguez is 1 for 9 so far in the series. If there was a king of a village of people being due, A Rod would have the crown... I really am going to hate to see this guy get it all together at some point in his life because he's been an Atlanta hero so far this year.
                ..
              • I'm not quite sure yet... but I think the CPU is pitching around Heyward... either that, or this is his series to turn into cold. This is the WORSE TIMING EVER to go 0-10 through 2 games.. I'd be mad, but we gotta remember the CPU has been very kind to Heyward this year when everyone else has seemingly slumped at one point or another... Heyward did nothing but just win a NL MVP award.. It's just sketchy timing for a slump honestly. I'm just sayin'

              ..

              ..
              • Our biggest fear of losing the bullpen for the duration of the series was solved thanks in part to a Tommy Hanson complete game. Craig Kimbrell still hasn't touched a baseball and that concerns me. Which Kimbrell will we get?
                ..
              • Josh Thole has continued the 8th batter goes Fed streak that Jason Bartlett started by only being put out 3 times and has already hit for a cycle through 2 games combined.

I hate them.. but I must admit, there's something just right about playing against the pinstripes for a World title... man best series we've come across by far.... by far...

Re: The Ted Turner Memoirs part 3: Painkillers Are A Man's Best Friend.

after hearing Harold's words over both bullpen's needing to step their stuff up, we head to the house that Arod built on stacks of stolen money. The Bronx zoo aka The final vision of the Boss. home of the Captain...

                New Yankee Stadium.

Now friends stay with me for a moment... If Coors field... Coors f'n Field... could become our own personal hellhole in terms of holding on to what would be seemingly surefire wins... well you already know things bout' to hit code red in terms of crucialness at the conclusion of this 2012 campaign.

                Game 3

And yes right on cue, Carlos Zambrano got to meet and greet these hallowed halls with a rude offspeed pitch being given out to the Bronx, NY community. Derek Jeter broke the string of back and forth don't know who's going to win till the last pitch games we had going on, and put this one away rather early.

Tim Hudson was awesome on the mound, and we never really had a chance. To be honest the Jeter fly was too soon... it shook us up having to chase runs the entire game.

Although it did get a little closer when Nate McLouth hit yet another homerun, his second on the series and is notably on fire now which giving us a slight moment of "Hey we can pull this **** off c'mon fool.....

stereotypically the Yanks continued to pile the runs on, and man I'd be lying if I didn't say we have got to be worred about stopping their offense when it gets to the third time around in the lineup. The late innings are killing us bros...

                  GAME 4

An earlier quote from the World Series preview gives us some background to Uggla's nearly historic Thursday night...
Everybody at this point knows what we have with our lineup. It's the best in the NL next to St. Louis. Everybody knows about McCann. What Heyward can do. It's safe to bet Uggla will get atleast one off of CC in the World Series... but again, our offense shouldn't try to get into a slugfest with the Yankees...

... You know in the locker room before the game, I told the team to keep their chins up. It's a long series this is what I was brought here for in situations like this. I've really been seeing the ball well this year against left handed pitching, and with our lineup struggling for runs, J-Hey in a horrible slump and everybody starting to panic... I was like look, let me be the guy tonight vs. C.C. and we'll be going back to Atlanta.

Jason's a great player... but he's done so much in his career, it's easy to forget that he's just 23 years old. He's trying to do too much at the plate, and that may be why he's struggling now. I just told him earlier tonight, that he needs to settle down, hit the contact button a couple of times up until things go right, and basically just relax because I'd take the bullet for him tonight... and someone else would tommorrow.

All the pressure was on me tonight to get it done and I was glad that I was able to give our team some early confidence. And that's how it's got to be... one guy can't do it all.. we gotta all step up at some point and get this thing back to Georgia.

                  - Dan Uggla
On another note, I wouldn't mind our offense getting into a slugfest with the Yankees. These 1 run games are hard on the heart... I'll take a 8-4 dub every day of the week at this point in the game. Moving on to Game 5.. the probable starters look to be Kris Medlen and Phil Hughes so I don't think the runs are anywhere close to stopping until game 6 probably... Game 5 should be a fun swing game nonetheless.

Yeah in the playoffs I play every game. During the regular season I try to find that happy balance between simulation and playing enough so that we have some background for the team through the years. I have found over time for that point to be playing every 6th game

Good series you got going on. Nice win despite the five errors.
Thanks godfather, and yeah 5 errors is pretty rough. I've pretty much grown to expect atleast 1 per game... usually 2-3 errors on the norm. It seems during the World series that ratio has been boosted up for no apparent reason...

                        The Suspicious Five
                        1. Furcal overthrows Freeman twice (both times eventually resulting in runners scoring)
                        3. Uggla over throws Freeman from second base
                        4. Mike Minor over throws on bunt
                        5. Alex Gonzales misplays grounder. (leads to a run )

I don't know if it's in my head or if it's related to the time of the year because the only other time I have ever felt like every possible throw could be airmailed, or ball misplayed is during Spring Training.

Re: The Ted Turner Memoirs part 3: Painkillers Are A Man's Best Friend.

For those taking score, this has not been an easy series by any means. You already know that the Yankees are the statistically best team in the game of baseball based on ratings along. You know that Heyward has been slumping something horrible all series. And we just overcame a 5 error game to somehow sneak out of the Bronx not in a huge hole. With all of that said... the CPU pulled the ulimate okey doke they could think of...

I get this nice little update prior to game 5 at the lineup screen:

As a last ditch effort to further keep the Braves from doing too much, the entire Yankees lineup is now on fire except for Robinson Cano. We all gotta be shaking our damn heads at this... because it's like c'mon son... they are already the best team in the game... Why they all gotsta be on fire now?????????

Having Jeter bat ninth and be on fire is a damn insult really but oh well...

                          GAME 5

Having decided that we can't let the slump Heyward's going through alter our lineup to the point that it's crippiling it. The dice were rolled and we placed him at numero uno. #1 in the order. He'd either have a hideous 0 for 4 game, or...

Or... he'd break out of it, and get some pitches to hit.

As you can see by the fist pump of celebration in the above graphic, clearly Bro got a pitch to hit, and turns out it was the first pitch of the ballgame. Deep center... first hit of the series, and it's a solo fly out of the yard. Way to comeup big on the gambling coach.

And what a ridiculous game 5 this turned out to be afterwards. Phil Hughes had nothing. He couldn't stop a bloody nose, his curveball had no bite, and he was out of the game by the 4th. On the other bump... Kris Medlen had one of his best performances of the year...

and that's what it's come down to friends... The Yankees tried to roll with CC and Weaver and just out duel us at the top of the rotations.. but it's the other guys that are failing them. Whereas here in Atlanta we just keep throwing fresh starters at them every night, and the depth of our staff is finally starting to seize the advantage for us in this series.

                          Finally....

Get used to seeing this photo. It'll be hanged in a nice frame in Cooperstown one day.

It could possibly hang over the cash register at a random Deli and Grocery up in the Bronx. You mght also be lucky to see it in every corner barbershop down south in Atlanta.

For the purposes of this dynasty, this will be a moment, frozen in time forever.. Easily going into the hall of fame of memories for the duration of this memoir. We'll refer to this play as if it was the second coming of Bobby Thompson's called shot. Yaz steering it fair, Gibson's fist pump, or any other contrived MLB classic moment. And yet... here you are reading about this as it happens. Live, this is the moment, let's take a look:

Game 6 after nine innings would come down to a bang bang, suicide squeeze in the ninth inning. Alex Rodriguez vs. Rafael Furcal. Both starting from point A 90 feet away. both running to point B. with the winner either becoming a World Champion. Or extending his team's season for another night.

Damn did it really come down to this?

Did the Braves really over come a 3 run defecit with a 3 run 3rd immediately stopping the Yankee rally?

Did the Braves Nate McLouth really hit yet another homerun, continuing his historic tear through the world series. The same Nate McLouth who was our number one priority to trade after the emergence of Jordan Schafer in 2011?

Did Nick Swisher really hit a game tying homerun on the first pitch from Craig Kimbrell thus blowing the save and gicing us flashbacks of game 1 where it would become impossible to beat the Yankees?

...Did we really just win the 2012 World Series?

Damn that was too exciting to be a video game. I can't wait to know what happened at homeplate.

Awesome video. I don't how you're taking real audio clips and putting those audio tracks on top of the MLB The Show video but it's fantastic.

It's an absolute disgrace this dynasty only has 2,000 views. It should have like five times that many.
