Could R.A. Dickey's Time In Toronto Be Coming To An End?

The man who won the National League Cy Young Award last season could be seeing his time in Toronto be coming to an end. 38-year old knuckleballer R.A. Dickey was acquired from the New York Mets in exchange for top catching prospect Travis d'Arnaud and highly touted pitching prospect Noah Syndergaard. The opening day starter for the Toronto Blue Jays this season seems to have lost whatever he had during his miracle season last season. Some may say that he is not up to the daunting challenge of facing American League hitters or the fact that Dickey no longer gets a "free" out when the pitcher comes up to bat.

Whatever it is, Dickey has absolutely not lived up to the hype and value that he was traded to the Blue Jays for. Dickey has yet to bring his ERA below 6.00. The problem with the Blue Jays trading him is that his trade value is superbly low because of the numbers (or lack of) that he has put up for the Blue Jays this season. Don't be surprised if Dickey is moved as part of a deal at or around the trade deadline this season.

Thanks! I don't really wanna move him to AAA because that just takes away a start from a developing player.

Ya I ended up dealing him. Diamond pitched a gem in his 1st game (post coming tomorrow) plus I have Danks/Wang in case of injury

I'm still early in the season so far so I don't plan on dealing him until he gets maybe five or six more starts under his belt this season.

                                Notes:
                                - Chris Dickerson was named the Player of the Game after recording four hits and scoring the tying and winning runs.
                                - The Blue Jays and Orioles will battle for the series win tomorrow as Josh Johnson goes up against Wei-Yin Chen.
                                - Orioles starter Wei-Yin Chen is expected to make his start tomorrow after being injured for the past few days.
                                - Casey Janssen was charged with the blown save after entering the ninth with the bases loaded on nobody out. It was the first blown save for the Jays closer this season.
Man thats a tough loss, Buerle pitched a gem. Hopefully the Jays can become 13-5 though and win the next one.
