Re: The King and his Diamond Table-A Seattle M's Franchise (MLB14-PS3)
THE 2015 ALL-STAR GAME
It's the Mid-Summer Classic, 2015 All-Star game in Cincinnati Ohio. As the best of the best from the American League take on the National League's best in a showdown with the winner getting home field advantage for their team in the World Series.
But is it really the best of the best?
Obviously the A.L. starting SP is pretty dang good as Seattle's "King" Felix Hernandez and MLB best (13-1) record and A.L. best 1.86 ERA takes on (11-2, MLB best 1.85 ERA) Adam Wainwright of the St Louis Cardinals.
Hernandez is joined on the A.L. squad by 2 of his Mariner teammates SP H. Iwakuma (11-4, 2.63 ERA) and CP F. Rodney (28 saves 2.60 ERA) but no offensive players from the M's squad make the team.
2B R. Cano (.256 19 HR 61 RBI) finished 2nd in the vote to start to Boston's D. Pedroia (.307 11 HR 39 RBI 9 SB) 600k to 556k, as the voters chose BA over HR.
Cano then lost the backup spot as Houston's J. Altuve (.290 5 HR 21 RBI 22 SB) takes that spot as the Astro's lone rep.
Joining Pedroia and Hernandez in the starting lineup will be
C-B McCann (.252 17 HR 54 RBI)
1B-P. Fielder (.282 25 HR 73 RBI)
SS-J. Reyes (.335 14 HR 48 RBI 19 SB)
3B-E. Longoria (.278 24 HR 65 RBI)
OF M. Moreland (.288 20 HR 52 RBI)
OF M. Trout (.305 20 HR 56 RBI 19 RBI)
OF W. Myers (.307 19 HR 67 RBI)
Joining Altuve on the bench are
C-M. Wieters (.258 17 HR 46 RBI)
C- S. Perez (.241 9 HR 39 RBI)
3B C. Santana (.253 16 HR 51 RBI)
SS-D. Santana (.231 8 HR 35 RBI 14 SB)
1B J. Abreu (.201 17 HR 41 RBI)
1B E. Encarnacion (.270 19 HR 67 RBI)
OF J. Ellsbury (.261 10 HR 37 RBI 20 RBI)
OF B. Buxton (.294 18 HR 45 RBI 12 SB)
OF S. Choo (.314 12 HR 41 RBI 7 SB)
OF A. Jones (.269 14 HR 60 RBI)
Deuce"I honestly can't understand why D. Santana got a spot on the bench, when the Twins already had Buxton. Santana finished 5th in the vote at SS. JJ Hardy (.286 14 HR 43 RBI) finished 2nd. Another huge snub was 2B O. Infante of the Royals. He is hitting .285 with 17 HR and 46 RBI. He should've been K.C.'s player rep"
SP M. Moore (11-4 2.82 ERA)
SP M. Scherzer (8-6 2.43 ERA)
SP B. McCarthy (10-4 2.32 ERA)
RP S. Doolittle (5-1 4 saves 1.29 ERA 48 IP)
CP N. Feliz (31 saves 1.78 ERA)
CP G. Balfour (30 saves 2.15 ERA)
CP J. Hanrahan (24 saves 1.52 ERA)
CP D. Robertson (24 saves 2.16 ERA)
CP J. Johnson (27 saves 2.51 ERA)
Snubs on the staff SP D. Smyly (11-4 3.46 ERA) RP L. Coleman (6-2 2.16 ERA 58 IP), RP R. Cook (4-2 2.16 ERA 58 IP), RP E. Mujia (6-2 1.83 ERA 39 IP)
Joining Wainwright in the starting lineup for the NL squad
C-J. Lucroy (.296 15 HR 57 RBI)
1B-P. Goldschimdt (.292 25 HR 69 RBI)
2B-D. Murphy (.284 11 HR 55 RBI 9 SB)
SS-T. Tulowitzki (.289 27 HR 65 RBI)
3B-T. Frazier (.290 15 HR 54 RBI)
OF C. Gonzalez (.277 21 HR 54 RBI)
OF A. McCutchen (.331 15 HR 54 RBI 16 SB)
OF H. Pence (.283 17 HR 53 RBI)
On the bench
C-J. Saltalmacchia (.238 12 HR 38 RBI)
C-C. Ruiz (.248 5 HR 17 RBI)
2B J. Baez (.235 14 HR 49 RBI 7 SB)
3B M. Carpenter (.287 10 HR 39 RBI)
SS J. Segura (.244 5 HR 28 RBI 36 SB)
1B A. Gonzalez (.307 19 HR 57 RBI)
1B C. Hart (.300 27 HR 59 RBI)
OF O. Taveras (.297 17 HR 54 RBI)
OF J. Bruce (.229 23 HR 62 RBI)
OF C. Gomez (.248 11 HR 47 RBI 21 SB)
OF A. Craig (.297 17 HR 64 RBI)
Deuce"Getting the biggest snub here has to be in the catcher spots. W. Ramos (.261 20 HR 44 RBI) or B. Posey (.274 13 HR 39 RBI) both lose out because of the player rep rule, yet why G. Stanton (.237 21 HR 46 RBI) is not there for Miami I don't know? Same with R. Howard (.282 14 HR 41 RBI) for Philly"
Joing Wainwright on the pitching staff
SP C. Kershaw (10-5 2.22 ERA)
SP J. Shields (9-2 2.44 ERA)
SP Z. Greinke (10-1 2.58 ERA)
SP M. Latos (8-2 2.16 ERA)
RP D. Hernandez (4-0 0.79 ERA 45 IP)
CP R. Soriano (38 saves 2.00 ERA)
CP H. Street (34 saves 2.27 ERA)
CP P. Strop (30 saves 2.75 ERA)
CP A. Chapman (29 saves 3.03 ERA)
CP C. Kimbrel (23 saves (2.31 ERA)
Noteworthy snubs RP B. Wilson (3-1 0.78 ERA 46 IP), RP J. Burton (5-2 2.26 ERA 63 IP), SP B. Cumpton (8-3 2.54 ERA), SP J. Tehren (9-4 2.81 ERA) SP J. Alvarez (9-6 2.34 ERA) SP G. Gonzalez (9-3 3.07 ERA)Comment

AMERICAN LEAGUE WINS CLASSIC!!
After losing the All-Star game last year "King" Felix got the "W" this year as he pitched 3 scoreless IP and well being spotted with a 7 run lead in the 3rd including a solo HR by M. Trout and a 3-run bomb by P. Fielder.
Pitching in front of the home crowd, Red's M. Latos took the loss.Comment

Re: The King and his Diamond Table-A Seattle M's Franchise (MLB14-PS3)
With the All-Star game in the books, the trade deadline is now just 16 days away, all eyes and ears are on MLB Trade Rumors.
In the N.L. East, the Washington Nationals (56-39) have been running away with the division since Day 1, leaving the rest of the division to start thinking about next season. Atlanta (43-52), New York (42-53), Miami (39-56) and Philadelphia (37-58)
In the N.L. Central, we have seen 4 different teams in 1st Place at different times this season, but it appears that it’s going to be likely a 2-horse race between the Cards (57-38) and Brewers (54-41) with the Reds (49-47) as a long shot. The Cubs (46-49) will join the Pirates (40-57) in searching for that missing piece for next year.
In the N.L. West, what was a 4 team race last season has also turned into a 2 team this year. The Padres (59-37) and Dodgers (58-37) have just 0.5 game separating them well the Rockies (48-49), D-Backs (47-49) and Giants (42-54) are all now double digit back. Colorado is just 1 game back of .500 but that still puts them 7 games out of the #2 WC spot currently held by the Brewers.
In the A.L. East, the Tampa Bay Ray’s like the Nat’s have pretty much had 1st place since April and at (61-35) currently have the best record in baseball. That leaves New York (51-46) and Boston (50-45) as well as Baltimore (48-47) in a very crowded A.L. WC race. Just 1 year after winning the division, the Toronto Blue Jays (42-53) are trying to figure out what happened.
In the A.L. Central, the Detroit Tigers have lost their past 4 games and 8 of their past 10, and are now 7 games under .500 (44-51) and 4.0 GB of the Kansas City Royals who also have lost their past 4 but are still in 1st at (48-47). The Cleveland Indians however have won their past 4 and 6 of their past 10 and at (44-50) are just 3.5 GB. The Twins like the Cubs at times looked like they might be ready to challenge this year but losing 6 of their last 10 has them (43-54) and quickly joining the Whitesox on the sellers list.
In the A.L. West, the defending World Series Champs (Seattle 58-37) currently has a 7 game lead over the A’s despite losing their past 3 and 6 of their past 10, leaving the A’s (51-44), Rangers (51-45) and Angels (46-49) all joining the crowded AL WC race. Houston (41-54) is already looking to see what changes they can make for 2016
A’s, Rangers, Yankees, Red Sox are all separated by less than a 0.5 game in the A.L. Wild Card Race.
So now that you know who is looking to buy and who is looking to sell. Stay tune for the Part II as we break down the best available at each position and what teams are currently in the market for that player.Comment

Re: The King and his Diamond Table-A Seattle M's Franchise (MLB14-PS3)
THE TRADE BLOCK
Welcome to Part II of the Trade Deadline talk... This section will actually be broken down into 3 parts. First we will look at each position of the Infield. Then in Section 2 of Part II we will cover the Outfield and then in Section 3 we will cover the rotation and relief pitchers available.
THE INFIELD
Catcher
Houston-Jason Castro ( 83/B, 27 yr old)
Hitting .275 with 8 HR 38 RBI, hit .255 with 17 HR 70 RBI in 2014 and .276 with 18 HR and 56 RBI in 2013.
Why would Houston trade him? At this point he would bring top dollar for a team still looking for a franchise type catcher.
Atlanta-Evan Gattis (80/B, 28 yr old)
Hitting .323 with 4 HR and 12 RBI in 124 AB’s this season. Has hit 20 HR’s each of the past 2 seasons with 60+ RBI.
Why would Atlanta trade him?
They currently have C. Bethancourt who is 5 years younger already splitting time with him at the MLB level hitting .262 with 7 HR and 20 RBI in 172 AB’s.
Miami-J. Saltalmacchia (78/C, 29 yr old)
Hitting .238 with 12 HR and 38 RBI. Has his double digit HR’s the previous 2 seasons as well.
Why would Miami trade him?
Like Atlanta they have R. Brantly already at the MLB level (.221 3 HR 13 RBI) who is 4 yrs younger plus JT Realmuto (70/C) in AAA.
New York Mets-T. D’Arnaurd (71/B, 26 yr old)
Hitting just .220 with 3 HR and 18 RBI in 186 AB’s.
Why the Mets would deal him?
He has never produced big #’s despite the hype, plus they have K. Plaweki (65/B) who is 2 years younger in AAA.
Philadelphia-C. Ruiz (79/A 36 yrs old)
Hitting .248 5 HR 17 RBI. Hit .247 with 14 HR 57 RBI last season.
Why the Phils would trade him?
He is 36 and the Phillies are parting ways with all veterans. Plus Ruiz is old enough he could retire at the end of the season.
Toronto-D. Navarro (77/C, 31 yr old)
Hitting .226 with 11 HR 38 RBI.
Why would Toronto trade him?
He bats switch and hits double digit HR’s which could bring a decent return, plus the Blue Jays still have R. Martin (83/B) starting in front of him.
Chicago WS-T. Flowers (74/C, 29 yr old)
Hitting .208 9 HR 31 RBI, hit 11 and 10 HR the previous 2 seasons.
Why Chicago would deal him?
They just acquired G. Soto to be a veteran backup and have M. Gonzalez (68/B) ready to take over in AAA.
Minnesota-K. Suzuki (76/C 31 yr old)
Hitting just .181 with 3 HR in 144 AB’s.
Why Minnesota would deal him?
He is making 1.9 million and signed for 3 more years. Problem is at this point only his defensive skills are worth trading for.
Teams looking for Catcher help (Seattle, Washington (backup), LA Dodgers, KC, Tampa, LA Angels, St Louis (backup),Plus any team who deals a catcher)
1st Base
Houston-C. Carter (81/B, 28 yr old)
Hitting .244 with 14 HR 47 RBI. Hit 271 with 32 HR 92 RBI last season.
Why Houston would trade him?
J. Singleton is actually the 1B for Houston with Carter as the DH. Carter could also play a horrible “D” in LF or RF, but his power #’s should bring back a few decent prospects for the Stro’s who are still rebuilding.
Miami-J. Willingham (70/B, 36 yrs old)
Hitting .277 with 7 HR 29 RBI. Hit 17 HR’s last year.
Why Miami would trade him?
He is 36 and even though he signed with them as a F.A. in the off-season wanting to retire a Fish, his ability to play 1B, DH, or play LF/RF could net Miami a decent prospect.
New York- L. Duda (72/C, 29 yrs old)
Hitting .270 with 10 HR 33 RBI
Why the Mets would trade him?
The Mets have 19 yr old D. Smith (64/A) currently hitting very well in AA and veteran A. LaRoche hitting .239 with 7 HR 24 RBI that can get them through the rest of this year and maybe next well Smith log’s some AAA AB’s.
Philly-R. Howard (75/B, 35 yr old)
Hitting .282 with 14 HR 41 RBI, hit .291 with 33 HR 87 RBI last season.
Why the Phils would deal him?
Vet who still has some value to a team in need of a power hitter.
Pittsburgh-G. Sanchez (72/D, 31 yrs old)
Hitting .227 with 5 HR and 23 RBI. Hit 17 HR last year.
Why the Pirates should deal him?
They should’ve cashed in on his power #’s last year, but didn’t now they have to hope for a Single A arm at best.
Colorado-J. Morneau (76/C, 33 yrs old)
Hitting .266 with 11 HR 42 RBI. Hit .261 with 27 HR 92 RBI last year.
Why the Rocks should deal him?
They have K. Parker (67/B) ready to take over 1B.
Toronto-E. Encarnacion (89/B, 32 yr old)
Hitting .270 with 19 HR 67 RBI, hit .277 with 42 HR 114 RBI last year.
Why Toronto should trade him?
He could bring back a several top prospects and is signed at 12 million next season, plus the Jay’s still have A. Lind (78/B) hitting .272 with 18 HR 63 RBI.
Toronto-A. Lind (78/B, 31 yr old)
Hitting .272 with 18 HR 63 RBI, hit 21 HR last year.
Why the Blue Jays should trade him?
Lind is in the middle of a career year. If they don’t deal EE, they should deal Lind and get top dollar for him well they can.
Detroit-V. Martinez (77/A, 36 yr old)
Hitting .283 with 13 HR 42 RBI. Hit .298 with 21 HR 92 RBI last year.
Why the Tigers should deal him.
Detroit is over the budget by 300K, and Martinez makes 4.4 million signed for the next 2 years. At 36 his best days are behind him, but for a team looking for a 1B/DB who can maybe catch 1 day a week, he still has value, especially because he is a switch hitter batting .281 RHP, .286 vs LHP.
Minnesota-K. Morales (79/B, 31 yr old).
Hitting .310 with 21 HR 61 RBI, hit .282 with 17 HR 41 RBI last year.
Why the Twins should deal him?
They are committed to Mauer at 1B and this would open up DH for N. Cruz when he returns from the DL.
Team needing help at 1B or DH (Seattle, New York Yanks, Tampa, Cleveland, KC, as well as any team dealing them)
2nd Base
Atlanta-D. Uggla (66/D, 34 yr old)
Hitting .247 with 6 HR and 18 RBI in 150 AB’s but hitting .355 vs LHP.
Why Atlanta should deal him.
He is 34 and his best days are behind him. If he can bring a 18-21 yr old arm to throw in AA, it would be a steal.
New York-D. Murphy (80/C, 29 yr old)
Hitting .284 11 HR 55 RBI.
Why New York should deal him?
He is making 2.4 million and can play anywhere on the diamond for most teams, in the middle of a career year after making the All-Star team. His value will never be higher.
Philly-C. Utley (76/B, 36 yr old)
Hitting .250 with 9 HR 34 RBI, hit .243 with 18 HR 59 RBI last season.
Why the Phils should deal him?
See Ruiz/Howard above…
Arizona-C. Pennington (76/C, 30 yr old)
Hitting .227 with 7 HR 25 RBI.
Why they should trade him?
He can play both 2B or SS for a team needing depth up the middle and they have T. Lindsey (71/B) and B. Croyel (68/C) waiting in the wings.
Colorado-DJ LeMahieu (73/C, 26 yr old)
Hitting .258 2 HR 17 RBI.
Why they should trade him?
He could be a decent backup at 2B and 3B and Rutledge has taken ahold of 2B in Colorado. Question is what does .258 and 2 HR get you? Not much
Toronto-C. Getz (77/C, 31 yr old)
Hitting .266 3 HR 15 RBI
Why trade him?
He can play 2B or SS, like Pennington and LeMahieu, could be a nice bench player for a team in the hunt well bringing back a low level arm for AA.
Detroit- I. Kinsler (86/B, 32 yr old)
Hitting just .262 with 3 HR 20 RBI 6 SB’s, after hitting .254 13 HR 56 RBI last year.
Why trade him?
He struggled last year and is again this year. Add in his 14 million per year and the fact D. Travis (73/B) is in AAA, he needs to go.
Minnesota-E. Nunez (78/C, 27 yr old)
Hitting .218 5 HR 16 RBI.
Why trade him?
See above on Pennington/Getz, ect.., add in the fact Dozier has claimed 2B, Santana SS and Sano 3B, plus they have E. Rosario (75/B) ready to take over the utility role.
Teams that could use a 2B (Texas, Washington, LA Dodgers, Baltimore, NY Yanks, as well as the teams with players on the block)
SS
Miami-A. Casilla (74/C, 30 yr old)
Hitting .235 2 HR 16 RBI
Why trade him?
Hechavarria is still the Fish’s SS of the present and future.
New York- R. Tejada (71/C, 25 yr old)
Hitting .291 1 HR 28 RBI
Why trade him?
The Mets got Colorado’s T. Story (75/B) last year in a deal and he is already splitting time at the MLB level. Tejada can also play 2B and is F.A. in 2016.
Philly-J. Rollins (78/B, 36 yr old)
Hitting .249 8 HR 35 RBI 12 SB’s
Why trade him?
It’s rebuild time see above Ruiz/Howard/Utley, plus 20 yd old JP Crawford (72/B) is hitting .278 with 9 HR and 39 RBI in AAA
Pittsburgh-J. Mercer (76/B, 28 yr old)
Hitting .253 4 HR 37 RBI
Why trade him?
Can play 2B and 3B as well, last year of his contract and Hanson (73/A) is already at the MLB level hitting .251 with 3 HR and 18 RBI
D-Backs-Y. Ensobar (80/B, 32 yr old)
Hitting .251 10 HR 32 RBI
Why trade him?
Makes 4.3 million, can play 2B or 3B, and Arizona still has Didi Gregorius (75/C) at the MLB level and C. Owings (69/C) in AAA
Giants-B. Hicks (70/B, 29 yr old)
Hitting .234 3 HR 15 RBI
Why trade him?
See above comments on all other utility IF’s. Plus San Fran still has B. Crawford (81/B) and A. Ramirez (84/B on the DL) for the present and future.
Giants-A. Ramirez (84/B, 33 yr old)
Hitting .228 5 HR 18 RBI 7 SB, currently on the DL for 2 weeks.
Why trade him?
If he is off the DL by the deadline, the Giants would love to part ways with his 7.5 million dollar deal through next season.
Toronto-J. Reyes (93/A, 31 yr old)
Hitting .335 14 HR 48 RBI, 19 SB
Why trade him?
See above comments on E.E., Reyes is making over 22 million next year, 24 mi in 2017 and 25 mil in 2018. He is having a monster year, but if they can shed that salary and get a net of prospects, it could be the smart move.
Chicago WS-S. Drew (74/C, 31 yr old)
Hitting .236 8 HR 29 RBI
Why trade him?
Makes 2.5 million for the next 3 years. Chicago isn’t going to win anytime soon and they have E. Sanchez, (deal with Tigers) plus L. Garcia and T. Anderson in AAA.
Teams that could use SS help (Seattle, Washington, Cincinnati, Boston, Tampa, Cleveland, KC, LA Angels, Oakland, as well as any team dealing)
3rd Base
Atlanta-C. Johnson (77/C, 30 yr old)
Hitting .247 with 20 HR 46 RBI, hit .304 with 25 HR and 100 RBI last year.
Why trade him?
Honestly with what he is getting paid vs his #’s it would make sense to deal him unless they get a premium package.
Miami-T. Plouffe (76/C, 28 yr old)
Hitting .206 6 HR 26 RBI
Miami-C. McGehee (70/C 32 yr old)
Hitting .259 8 HR 25 RBI
Why trade them?
Neither player is playing well as part of a platoon, so it would make sense to deal one of them and hope the other starts hitting better in fulltime action. Being Ploufee just signed a 5 year F.A. deal and McGehee is in the last year of his deal, makes it pretty clear who should go.
New York Mets-D. Wright (90/A, 32 yr old)
Hitting .247 12 HR, 42 RBI. Hit .282 29 HR 85 RBI last season.
Why trade him?
His #’s don’t match his salary which climbs to 1 million over the next 6 years.(18.8 next, then 19.7, 20.7, 21.8, 22.8, 24.0)
Giants-J. Nix (63/D, 32 yr old)
Hitting .263 with 6 HR 19 RBI
Why trade him?
See above post on utility guy’s. He can play 2B and SS as well. Is hitting .320 vs LHP.
Chicago WS-C. Gillaspie (70/C, 27 yr old)
Hitting .261 7 HR 34 RBI
Why trade him?
M. Davidson (.252 11 HR 35 RBI) at the MLB level has taken over 3B. Gillaspie has decent power (hit 20 HR’s last season) and in a weak 3B market could bring back a decent player or 2.
Texas-D. Murphy (74/C, 31 yr old)
Hitting .218 2 HR 11 RBI.
Why trade him?
With A-Roid taking over his spot as the backup to Beltre, he is a man without a spot. He can play SS and 2B so maybe he can help bring in a piece that gets them a WC spot.

Re: The King and his Diamond Table-A Seattle M's Franchise (MLB14-PS3)
I am not completely sold on the idea of dealing EE or Reyes away, but it would make for a interesting rebuild for them. However just 1 year away from playing in the AL Championship, I am not sure they would unload those guy's that quickly. If you have any input I would love to hear it. You can shoot me a PM with some ideas. Problem is I think right now the only team with the cap space and need at SS that could take on Reyes is the M's and I am not ready to give up all my cap space plus the prospects to get it done.Comment

Re: The King and his Diamond Table-A Seattle M's Franchise (MLB14-PS3)
TRADE BLOCK
THE OUTFIELD PART II SECTION 2
Houston-D. Fowler (83/B, 28 yr old)
Fowler is in the last year of his deal (3.6 mil) hitting .254 with 10 HR 38 RBI and 9 SB’s.
Why the Astros would trade him.
Houston has J. Marisnick (4 yrs younger) already at the MLB level and D. Deshields ready to make the jump to AAA, plus Springer and D. Santana already in LF and RF.
Atlanta-J. Upton (89/A 27 yr old)
Upton is hitting just .240 with 7 HR and 33 RBI but did manage to match his 2013 HR total of 27 last season with 70+ RBI’s, however that’s still pretty expensive for a guy making 19 million.
Atlanta-BJ Upton (76/C, 30 yr old)
The last several seasons have been unkind to BJ and (.233 11 HR 40 RBI in 2014), and this year is no different (.237 4 HR 19 RBI).
Why Atlanta would trade them?
It’s time to move on from the Upton brothers.
J. Heyward has 1 year left on his deal and is going to be one of the most attractive players on the market, so freeing up the Upton money will come in handy for the Braves.
Miami-G. Stanton (89/A, 25 yr old)
Stanton is hitting just .237 but does have 21 HR and 46 RBI after hitting .294 with 31 HR and 82 RBI last season.
Why would Miami trade him?
Stanton is in the last year of his contract and refused to sign a long term deal last winter because he wanted to see if Miami would make moves to help them compete. So far it hasn’t happened, so rather than lose him and get nothing, it could be time to finally pull the trigger and reload the farm.
New York Mets
E. Young Jr (72/C, 29 yr old)
Hitting .223 4 HR 24 RBI 31 SB’s
C. Young (74/C), 31 yrs old)
Hitting .221 4 HR 19 RBI
Why the Mets would deal them?
E. Young offers some nice speed at the top of a lineup for many teams and should bring a decent prospect back.
C. Young is just taking up space and makes 1.5 million, but his ability to play all 3 OF spots could land him on somebody’s playoff bench.
Philly
M. Byrd (73/A, 37 yr old)
Hitting just .239 with 8 HR and 33 RBI after hitting 22 HR and driving in 76 last year.
Why trade him?
Byrd is on the decline. He has stated he wants to retire a Philly but so does Utley,Rollins,Ruiz, and Howard. Sorry Marlon but it’s a youth movement time.
J. Mayberry Jr (70/C, 31 yr old)
Hitting .405 with 4 HR and 7 RBI in 37 AB’s.
Why trade him?
Let’s face it 37 AB’s is too small of a # to get a true idea of what Mayberry can do, but the fact he is hitting with power in as well .419 vs LHP should give him some value as a pinch hitter who can play all 3 OF spots in a pinch.
Cubs-J. Ruggiano (73/C, 32 yr old)
Hitting .233 with 10 HR 26 RBI and 6 SB’s. Hit 17 HR’s last year after hitting 18 in 2013
Why trade him?
Ruggiano would/should’ve been gone last season, but an injury had him on the DL at the deadline.
M. Szczur (74/C, 26 yr old)
Hitting .262 with 2 HR, 17 RBI and 10 SB’s
Why trade him?
The Cubs CF of the future is likely either A. Alcantara or A. Almora, with whoever doesn’t win the job as the Cubs #4 OF, and with such a huge need of pitching, Szczur has the potential to be a possible top of the order everyday CF for some teams.
Reds
J. Bourgeois (73/C, 33 yr old)
Hitting .274 with 24 SB’s in AAA
C. Heisey (75/C, 30 yr old)
Hitting .282 with 17 HR and 48 RBI in AAA. Hit .265 with 19 HR 63 RBI as the everyday LF last year.
R. Ludwick (73/B, 36 yr old)
Hitting .258 with 8 HR and 25 RBI. Hit .264 with 20 HR and 74 RBI last year.
M. Cuddyer (79/B, 35 yr old)
Hitting .259 with 17 HR and 46 RBI. Hit .274 with 21 HR 54 RBI last year with the Rocks.
Why trade them?
The Reds are set in CF with B. Hamilton and in RF with J. Bruce. Well Bourgeois could be a decent #4, many teams could use his speed giving him pretty decent value. Heisley could fill that role as well, but the Reds would be better off dealing all 4 and looking for a legit LF or allowing 21 yr old J. Winker (70/A) hitting .291 12 HR 41 RBI in AAA to become that guy
Pirates-J. Tabata (74/C, 26 yr old)
Hitting .272 with 5 HR 21 RBI 13 SB’s.
Why trade him.
On paper Tabata looks like the perfect #4 OF, but the Pirates have plenty of depth with DJ Davis (61/B), M. Rojas (64/C) and J. Bell (61/B) all in AAA plus A. Meadows (61/A) in AA, with Marte,McCutchen and Polanco as locked in starters, Tabata is a great sell now sell high option that could net the Pirates a decent return.
D-Back’s
G. Parra (77/C, 27 yr old)
Hitting .233 4 HR 24 RBI.
C. Ross (76/C 34 yr old)
Hitting .261 7 HR 22 RBI
Why trade them?
Neither player is considered a future piece and with the D-Backs out of it yet again this year, they could be decent bench options for someone in need.
Rockies-D. Stubbs (74/C, 30 yr old)
Hitting .233 with 1 HR 13 RBI and 8 SB in 133 AB.
Why trade him?
Stubbs has never taken to Coors field, and has decent speed which several teams could use in their OF.
Giants
M. Morse (76/C, 32 yr old)
Hitting .234 with 15 HR 38 RBI. Hit 26 HR’s last year.
A Pagan (80/B, 33 yr old)
Hitting .252 with 4 HR and 12 SB’s
Why trade them
The Giants have A. De Aza playing great in LF after dealing for him last season, but he could move to CF or the Giants could promote G. Brown (69/B 26 yr old) from AAA. Pagan would be a decent add for a team needing a OF that can play all 3 spots and bat at the top of the order. Morse can play LF or RF, but is better suited to move to 1B or even DH back in the A.L. like he did for Seattle.
Toronto
T. Colvin (70/C, 29 yr old) hitting .204 with 5 HR in 152 AB’s
T. Snider (70/C, 27 yr old) hitting .278 with 13 HR 38 RBI in AAA
N. Reimold (71/D, 31 yr old) hitting .194 7 HR 20 RBI.
Why trade them. The BlueJays OF is set with Cabrera, Bonifacio and Bautista. Gose and Sierra are ready to move up from AAA. Not that any 3 will bring much of a return, but all 3 are in the last year of their deals so anything would better then nothing.
Tigers
R. Davis (73/C, 34 yr old)
Hitting .269 with 7 HR and 15 SB’s
A Dirks (75/C, 29 yr old)
Hitting .235 with 3 HR in 183 AB
C. Granderson (86/B, 33 yr old)
Hitting .234 with 10 HR 37 RBI 6 SB
Why trade them.
The Tigers have S. Moya (70/B), and JD Martinez (72/C) as well as D. Viciedo (80/B, 25) all playing and hitting better at the MLB level. Granderson was a mistake and the Tigers need to get rid of his salary if they have any chance at having the cash to resign Price at the end of the season.

Re: The King and his Diamond Table-A Seattle M's Franchise (MLB14-PS3)
TRADE BLOCK CONTINUES
It’s Part II Section 3
Well adding a bat either to the starting lineup or improving the bench can be a major move for most teams as they look to improve their team for the playoffs, adding a quality arm that can go out and get you 6-7 IP from a starter or a dominate RP who is capable of getting you 1 IP closer to the 9th is just as important as well. So with that said here is a look at some of the SP’s who need to move to make room for AAA talent ready to take over.
Starters
Mets LHP J. Niese (80/B, 28 yr old)
Currently 4-6 3.48 ERA.
Why trade him. The Met’s signed E. Santana in the off-season to a 3 yr deal to provide insurance for Harvey,Wheeler,Synderguard,Montero and De Grom.
Philly
LHP C. Hamel (91/A 31 yr old)
Currently 7-8 3.79 ERA
LHP C. Lee (85/A 36 yr old)
Currently 5-7 2.87 ERA. Last season 14-10 2.36 ERA.
Why Trade them?
Lee has 2 years left on his deal at 19 million but is still a solid #2 who won’t give up a bunch of runs. With a better offense he still has 16-18 wins ability.
Hamels is signed for 4 more seasons and really should be the guy you build around, not trade away, but the Phills have a bunch of holes and Cole could help fill a lot of them via his trade value.
Pirates-RHP V. Worley (77/C 27 yrs old)
Currently 6-6 3.17 ERA
Why trade him?
The Pirates have N. Kingham and Z. Lee (Alvarez deal) blocked in AAA and dealing Worley opens up a spot for one of them to join Cole,Tallion, Cumpton and Locke in the rotation.
Cards
RHP L. Lynn (86/B, 27 yr old)
8-2 4.98 ERA
RHP J. Kelly (82/B, 26 yr old)
8-4 3.57 ERA
LHP J. Garcia (81/B 28 yr old)
4-8 4.25 ERA
Why trade 1 of them?
The Cards have Wainwright/Wacha/Miller as their 1-3. Which leaves 1 of these guy’s as the odd man out.
Lynn is the most likely to be dealt because of his 4.5 mil salary and the fact he is a F.A. next year. However most teams will likely want Kelly if it means the Cards are going after a big bat to put in their already loaded lineup.
D-Backs
RHP J. Beckett (75/B, 34 yr old)
8-7 4.02 ERA
RHP B. Arroyo (65/A 38 yr old)
0-2 3.18 ERA, 10-10 4.31 ERA last season
LHP W. Miley (79/C 28 yr old)
6-6 3.07 ERA, 13-14 4.64 ERA last year
RHP D. Hudson (83/B 27 yr old)
7-5 4.41 ERA, 8-19 3.89 last year
Why trade them.
The D-Backs have P. Corban (86/B, 25 yr old) 8-6 2.99 pitching like the teams #1, plus fellow 25 yr old R. Delgado looking like he could be a solid #3, which leaves A. Bradley (81/A 22 yr old) to come up from AAA to be the #2, and Chase Anderson (74/B) and B. Shipley (73/A) available to move up as the #4 and #5, as well as Matt Barnes (72/B) (Boston trade) and A. Chafin (77/B) both in AAA as well.
Giants
RHP Roberto Hernandez (74/C, 34 yr old)
6-1 3.17 ERA
LHP JA Happ (73/C 32 yr old)
6-7 3.91 ERA
LHP J. Saunders (70/C 33 yr old)
1.16 ERA in AAA
Why trade them.
The Giants originally signed the 3 vet’s so they wouldn’t need to rush K. Crick (73/A) but with their record they might as well put Crick in the rotation and see if he can be a solid #3 behind Bumgarner and Cain.
Toronto
LHP M. Buehrle (83/B 35 yr old)
6-7 3.55 ERA, 14-8 3.32 ERA last year.
RHP B. Morrow (81/C, 30 yr old)
6-10 4.94 ERA, 12-11 4.93 ERA last year
RHP R.A. Dickey (65/A 40 yr old)
9-4 5.88 ERA, 13-6 3.81 ERA last year
Why trade them?
They signed J. Masterson (87/B) to a 4 year deal this past off-season to take the pressure off D. Hutchinson (82/A) from being the #1, and have A. Sanchez (80/A), M. Stroman (78/A) and S. Nolin (63/B) all ready to make the jump from AAA. Morrow could move back to the pen where he could have more success than his 4+ ERA has been as a starter. Both Buehrle (5 mil) and Dickey (10.8 mil) have 1 year left on their contracts after this season
Chicago White Sox
LHP J. Danks (80/C 29 yr old)
7-8 3.81 ERA
Why trade him?
Really Chicago should deal Sale because they are so far away from winning it’s not even funny but he is signed for under 8 mil for the next 4 years and is just 25 so at this point making him the face of the franchise and trying to build around him makes more sense.
Tigers
LHP D. Price (94/A 29 yr old)
6-4 3.20 ERA
RHP A Sanchez (87/B 31 yr old)
7-8 4.38 ERA
RHP A. Harang (70/B 36 yr old)
7-3 4.14 ERA
Why trade them?
If the Tigers can unload Sanchez and almost 14 mil per year deal, then it would make sense to try and keep Price and pray he resigns giving a nice 1-2 punch with Verlander. Or it could make sense to deal both and hope to get a couple of young arms back, especially if Price wants to be the #1 star on his own team.
Minnesota
RHP R. Nolasco (80/C 32 yr old)
2-7 5.08 ERA, 6-13 4.67 ERA last season
RHP M. Pelfrey (74/C 31 yr old)
4-4 3.77 ERA
LHP S. Diamond (72/C 28 yr old)
9-8 3.12 ERA in AAA
LHP L. Darnell (70/C 26 yr old)
7-8 4.01 ERA in AAA
Why trade them?
Nolasco has failed to become the #1 the Twins had hoped for well P. Hughes has pitched well enough be a solid #2 with A. Meyer (78/A) taking over the #1 role. Veteran LHP T. Milone is a solid #3 and LHP R. Elias (75/B, M’s trade) and RHP T. May (74/B) fill out the rotation. Plus top pitching propsects J. Berrios (70/B 20 yr old) and K. Stewart (70/B 20 yr old) are both pitching well in AAA
Teams that need a Starter-Pretty much everyone not selling, minus the Marlins who have a lots of young arms. Teams not in the playoff race who could use some arms are the Cubs, as well as the Giants and probably the Rockies as well as the White Sox.Comment

TRADE BLOCK
PART II Section 4
Our Trade Block report is finally coming to an end as we take a look some some of the top RP’s available going into the trade deadline.
Houston- RHPJ. Grilli (76/A, 38 yr old)
22 saves 4.97 ERA, .170 vs RHH.
Why trade him?
Grilli signed this off-season for 8 mil and is signed through the next 2 years. The Astros could better use that money elsewhere if they can find someone desperate enough to take him.
Atlanta- RHP S. Feldman (74/C, 32 yr old)
2-1 3.63 ERA in 63 IP
Why trade him?
Feldman makes 2.1 mil as a long reliever and the Braves have one of the better rotations in baseball. His stats are good enough that he could be a #4 or #5 for a team desperate to replace someone struggling.
Miami RHP S. Cishek (87/B, 28 yr old)
20 saves 2.63 ERA in 24 IP. Had 30 saves in 2014.
Why trade him?
He is in the last year of his deal (4 mil) and the Fish have Carter Capps, AJ Ramos, J. Swagerty all as cheaper options who could take over. He will likely be the best CP available on the market next winter, so a team who might want to get a leg up in signing him might be smart to preview him the rest of this year on their team.
Mets
LHP J. Edgin (75/B, 28 yr old)
Pitching in AAA right now after posting a 8.00 ERA early in the year.
RHP S. Romo (89/B 31 yr old)
0-3 17 saves and a 2.63 ERA in 27 IP.
Saved 39 games last year with the Giants
Why trade them?
Edgin is still a pretty highly rated LHP and could just use a change of teams to get back on track.
Romo was an expensive F.A. addition to replace Parnell who was traded last year and well he is proving he can be one of the better CP’s in the game, the Mets are not winning enough to justify his almost 9 million dollar salary.
Philly
LHP A. Bastardo (81/B, 29 yr old)
1-1 4.53 ERA in 43 IP
RHP J. Papelbon (84/B 34 yr old)
0-2 18 saves 2.78 ERA in 22 IP
Why trade them.
Bastardo like Edgin is one of the better LHP available and has posted a 2.00 ERA the past 2 years before this explosion. Plus the Phils still have Diekman as a solid LHP.
Papelbon joins the list of expensive vet’s that need to move (10.5 mil next year)
Pirates-RHP M. Melancon (85/B, 29 yr old)
4-3 1 save 3.20 ERA
Why trade him
Melancon has closer type stuff (proven by his 16 saves in 2013), but is in the last year of his deal and is making 3.5 million.
D-Backs-
RHP D. Hernandez (85/A, 29 yr old)
4-0 0.79 ERA in 45 IP. Posted a 2.22 ERA last year.
Why trade him?
Hernandez was an All-Star this past season, but is in the last year of his contract that is paying him 4.5 mil. Pretty spendy for a 8 IP guy for the D-Backs but could be a good fit for a team who spends money like the Dodgers, Angels or Yankees.
LHP O. Perez (75/C 33 yr old)
1-2 5.46 ERA in 29 IP
Why trade him?
Perez pitched well in Seattle but never found success in the desert. He is still a pretty highly rated LHP so he could have value to someone despite his 5+ ERA
Rockies
LHP R. Brothers (84/B 27 yr old)
5.67 ERA in 27 IP
RHP J. Motte (80/B 32 yr old)
3-4 2.90 ERA in 49 IP
Why trade them.
Both are former CP’s who are making big money (Brother 4 mil, Motte-3 mil)
Giants
RHP T. Lincecum (77/B 30 yr old)
3-12 4.98 ERA 110 K as a starter
Why trade him?
Lincecum is expensive as a RP (6.8 mil next year)
LHP J. Affeldt (71/B 35 yr old)
0-3 4.71 ERA 28 IP
Why trade him?
Another fairly highly rated LHP who is struggling this year but has been solid in the past. Signed through 2016 at 1.7 mil
Toronto
RHP S. Santos (80/B 31 yr old)
4-5 6.08 ERA,
LHP B. Cecil (75/B, 28 yr old)
1-3 1 saves 4.99 ERA in AAA
RHP JJ Putz (74/A, 38 yr old)
1-4 4.90 ERA in 44 IP
Why trade them?
All 3 are F.A. at the end of the season. Even a low C rated prospect would be better than nothing and with those ERA’s they will be lucky to get that.
Chicago WhiteSox
RHP N. Jones (81/B, 29 yr old)
4.94 ERA in 47 IP
RHP R. Belisario (76/C 32 yr old)
3.90 ERA in 30 IP
RHP M. Lindstrom (74/B 35 yr old)
Why trade them
Jones in a F.A. at the end of the year. Well the other 2 talents are being wasted on this team.
Tigers-RHP J. Nathan (66/A, 40 yr old)
4.97 ERA in 50 IP.
Why trade him
He lost his CP job after saving 33 games last year with a 4.50 ERA. His 11 million dollar contract through 2016 is killing the budget. If they even got a Single A (F prospect) and lost the salary it would be a great move.
Twins-LHP G. Perkins (87/B 31 yr old)
20 saves 2.61 ERA in 20 IP
Why trade him
The Twins got Wilhelmsen (80/C, 31 yr old) from the M’s last season in the J. Willingham/T. Plouffe deal and signed him to a cheap 4 year (1.7 mil per) deal, well Perkins will make over 10 million for the next 3 years. Well Perkins has been a solid CP posting 32 saves in 14 and 36 in 13, that 10 million would be better served trying to add a better front line starter to help take the pressure off A. Meyer
Team that could use a RP/CP (Anyone who is in the Playoff Hunt)Comment
