Tough loss in Laird but it could've been worse I suppose. Hopefully you'll be alright.

Just out of curiosity, where do you put your injury slider? In every chise I've done with 30 team control I never get any injuries for my user controlled team and I hate how unrealistic it is. I guess maybe I am doing something wrong when I set up my chise.

Never adjusted the slider. 99.9% of my injuries come from games in which I sim. The only injury I have had this season so far in a game I was playing was when Cano went down and it was a stupid one because he was fielding the ball, made the throw to 1st and then the message game up that he was hurt and out for 3-4 weeks.

I assume there are injuries for other teams besides your own? Because for the first 2 months of my Franchise I didn't realize I had injuries turned off and couldn't figure out why nobody wasn't getting hurt.

        I am officially unhappy...

Morales.. Really.. Is Jack really just this horrible at making deals. Willingham and Plouffe are on the Twins roster too Jack. I don't care if Morales led the team in BA and RBI last year. He hasn't done nothing this year.

I rather just have Smoak/Montero/Franklin or even Ji-Man Choi at DH in Seattle then Morales..

Jack you are a idiot and you suck as a GM...

To top it off he traded one of my favorite RP's S. Pryor to get him.

Obviously I won't be making this deal in my Franchise because 1) I am past the trade deadline. 2) I think it sucks and I am protesting. In fact I am still protesting the deal of Carter Capps to Miami for L. Morrison, because in 2013, he was my favorite RP to play with.

Yeah injuries happen to the CPU teams just never to my team, whether I sim or play the games. Not sure why.

I agree... Not sure why he went after Morales instead of some of the other options rumored. Maybe they will still add another bat.

what you think of Chris Taylor and Jesus Montero getting the call up? I'm pumped. I'm with you on the Morales trade. He wanted to be on the Twins long-term, yet managed those awful numbers. He won't offer us much seeing as he seems to hate Seattle lol

Most scouts think Taylor's career is pretty much going to be alot like Willie's the man he is replacing. I am hoping he will be better. Last year both Franklin and Miller hit and played well when they got called up. Hopefully Taylor can do the same.

Montero to me is our future DH, which is why I totally don't get the Morales deal. So why bring up Montero if he is not going to get fulltime AB's. I personally would love it if Montero could some how still catch once a week to give Zunino a day off and I guess he could play 1B in a platoon with Morrison if the plans are to let Smoak just rot in AAA.

What I dont' get is the moving Walker back to AAA. I assume this means Ramirez stays in the rotation for the time being. I was hoping Walker was going to take Elias spot with him moving to the long relief role.

Yes it has. I want to believe Zunino will snap out of his funk, but even in the games I play, I am typically lucky to get a 1/4 performance out of him. Hopefully he will improve during the offseason, as it would be nice to at least get a .250 15 HR 50 RBI kind of season out of him. Sucre is purely a defense guy, so I will have to decide how quickly I want to rush Hicks or Marlette for a backup role in the future. F.A. as you can see from my post has nothing to offer so at this point it's Z playing the rest of the year out and maybe I sign a little big younger guy in F.A. next year as a backup. Soto, Suzuki, Doumit, Jeff Mathis are free life F.A.'s in 2015.

Mathis will just be another Sacre. He has never been able hit. I think he had 1 decent year with the Angels when he came up with them.

Not even sure when that good year was. In his 10 years he has a career .195 BA with 41 HR's.

His best year was 2012 when he hit .218 with 8 HR's for Toronto.

Best year with LAA was 08 when he hit 9 HR's but he finished the season hitting .194.

So yeah, I think it's safe to say we can scratch him off the list.

                        M'S CLINCH THE WEST!!!

Sticking with what they know best, the Seattle M's took 2 of 3 from Oakland in the 3 game home stand. Now with a 89-59 Overall record on Sept 14th, the M's have officially become the first team to clinch a playoff spot by winning the AL West.

Winning the division snaps a 13 year streak (last won in 2001) and with 14 games left in the season, the M's will not win 116 games, but will most likely pass any other previous year's win totals (other best's were 2002 and 2003 when the M's went 93-69)

Here is a recap of the 3 game series with Oakland

                        Game 1 ( M's lost 5-2 *Played*)

It was a rough night for rookie T. Walker as he gives up a leadoff double to Gentry who scores to make it 1-0, then B. Moss connects on a 2 run HR to make it 3-0. Oakland adds another run in the 2nd, but Seattle answers back as Kyle Seager hits a solo HR to make it 4-1.

In the 4th Walker gets into trouble again giving up a triple to Elmore, then after walking Coco Crisp to put runs at 1st and 3rd with no out, Walker is pulled from the game.

                        J. Nieman making his 3rd appearance since coming up in when the rosters expanded, gave up a sac fly that scores Elmore. But then provides to get a double play ball and then a strike out to end the inning.

Nieman would go on to pich 5 1/3 IP giving up just 2 hits well striking out 6, but the M's bats never came alive.

At the plate, James Jones came in for B. Jackson who was staring in CF in the 5th and in the 7th hit his first career Homerun to make it 5-2, but that was all AJ Griffin would give up.

Griffin finished with 8 IP giving up the 2 runs on 11 hits well striking out 9 for this 10th win (10-10)

Jim Johnson came in and pitched the 9th for his 38th save.

                        Game 2 (M's win 9-4)

Finally the M's have another big day at the plate. R. Cano and D. Ackley both go yard and drive in 2 runs each. K. Seager also had a big day with a bases loaded clearing double in the 3rd as he finishes with 4 RBI.

On the Mound, H. Iwakuma picks up his 9th "W" of the year (9-5) pitching 8 IP giving up 3 runs (none earned) on 8 hits and 2 BB's well striking out 3.

                        D. Farquhar pitched the 9th for striking out 2 to end the game.

Jeff Samardzija took the loss as he goes just 3 IP giving up 8 runs on 7 hits. It was the worse outing he has had since moving to the American League.

                        Game 3 (M's win 3-1)

Seattle scores 3 in the 1st inning as R. Cano hits a 2 run HR and C. Hart adds a solo shot, of S. Kazmir.

On the Mound "King" Felix wins his 20th of the season with 9th complete game of the year. Hernandez gave up just 2 hits and the 1 run well striking out 6. He has now lowered his AL best ERA to 1.84.

                        Roster Notes

The M's resigned Catcher John Buck for the remainder of the season. Buck played in Game 1 of the Oakland series and went 1/3. For the season, Buck is now batting .246 with 2 HR and 8 RBI ,but is hitting .280 vs LHP, which will likely be who he will face moving forward, as M. Zunino is hitting .237 vs RHP and just .205 vs LHP

UP NEXT SEATTLE WILL HEAD TO THE ROAD FOR A 11 GAME ROAD TRIP (4 VS LAA, 3 vs HOU, 4 vs TOR) BEFORE FINISHING THE REGULAR SEASON AT HOME VS LAA

                            MID-MONTH UPDATE

Baltimore O's (82-67) fans are excited. Well Toronto (85-63) has won 4 in a row and holds a 3.5 game lead in the AL East, the O's have taken a pretty firm on the #1 WC spot, leaving the the Angels and Rangers (both 75-74) to fight for the #2 spot with Cleveland and Oakland both (73-76) and Boston (73-77) all within striking distance.

Kansas City (78-71) has won 6 in a row and 7 of their past 10 and looks to be close to clinching the AL Central with a 5 game lead on the Indians.

In the NL East the Atlanta Braves (83-66) continue to hold on to first place despite the Washington Nationals (79-70) winning their past 4 and 7 of their past 10. At 4 GB in the East, the Nat's might be better off trying to catch the Braves as they are 3.5 GB in the NL #2 WC.

For you Phillies fans out their the Phils have won 8 of their past 10 and are (76-73), but are 7.0 GB and at this point their prize is finishing over .500

The NL Central has become a 2 horse race. Cincinnati (84-66) and St Louis (83-67), the loser will likely end up in a dog fight for the #1 NL WC spot with the Padres and Dodgers.

Speaking of the NL West., the Rockies (90-59) are close to clinching the crown as the now have the best record in baseball (can the M's catch them?)

That leaves the Dodgers (83-66) and the Padres (81-67) most likely battling for the #1 NL WC spot
