Re: Barry Powers: The Wonder from Down Under (RTTS)

Recap of the 1st Half of the Double A Season:

Barry Powers Lead the League in the following:

    Batting Average - .559 (next best .326)
    Hits - 127 (88)
    Doubles - 18 (17)
    Triples - 20 (8)
    Home Runs - 28 (14)
    RBI's - 105 (49)
    Runs - 68 (59)
    Stole Bases - 38 (15)
    SLUG % - 1.185 (.557)
    OPS % - 1.743 (.919)

Positional Ranking in the Rays Organization:

Barry Powers did all he could to impress. He dominated all the pitchers in the Double A that he face, and not just by a little but by a lot. Surely he will be at least clled up to the Triple A after the Double A All-Star game but he is more then ready to help the Rays in the majors.

Montgomery Biscuits Standing at the end of the 1st Half:

The 2015 Southern League All-Star Game:

"Barry Powers got over 1 million votes, that's 1 million votes for a Double A All-Star game!!! The Rays better bring this boy up as the nation/world has their eyes on him already. Besides the media attention they would receive, he could actually help them at the CF spot and he couldn't really do any worse then Desmond Jennings is."

Re: Barry Powers: The Wonder from Down Under (RTTS)

Day after the All-Star game at Tropicana Field....

Barry Powers had packed his bags and was waiting for his taxi to take him to the airport to head back to Montgomery. He hadn't heard anything from the Rays GM about where he would be playing, he had met with the some of the ownership who had come down just to see him play.

The taxi had arrived and he was on his way, maybe he could have done better in the game, is going 2 from 2 not good enough? He was was starting to get mad, "If they don't put me up I'm requesting a trade, this is bs that I'm playing in the Double A! I'm Barry Powers!" he said to himself.

Next thing his phone rang, as if the Rays GM heard that Powers wanted out if not put up!

"Hey Barry, sorry I didn't get a chance to catch up with you yesterday. We have decided that we will be moving you up."

First thing came to his head with that he would be heading to Durham to play out the year with the Bulls.

"Can you come and meet me at the stadium so we can get you settled in?"

Wait what....."Settled in? Like in.....?" Barry Powers wasn't expecting this when he woke up this morning.

"You are playing for the Tampa Bay Rays now Barry. We didn't want to send you to the Triple A's and waste this great form you are in, we reckon you can help us in the second half of the season. We need you to bring that raw power and passion to this team. We believe you are ready for the majors."

Barry thought to himself, I was born ready!

The Rays are currently 12.5 games back from the Boston Red Sox who lead the division. The first team that Barry Powers will face is the Red Sox, he plans to help the Rays close the gap from game 1.

Now that Barry has made The Show, I will just do a quick recap of series. I want to get him through as many seasons as possible, I will be doing an interview with him towards the end of this season so everyone can find out what Barry want's to achieve in his career.

Barry Powers 1st (of many) Major League Game:

This is what he had been playing for all of his short life.

He had made it to the show quicker then anyone could of predicted, he smash the competition in the Double A's Southern League but the Majors was a whole different kettle of fish. He knew he probably wouldn't bat .500 but that doesn't mean he wouldn't try.

Barry Powers believes he is the best and wants to prove he is the best, not just of the era he will play in but of all time!

"Do you think this is a desperate move by an organisation that is struggling? I understand he is a fan favorite and sportscenter loves him but he is only 18 with 50 games of Double A ball under his belt. I just hope they haven't rushed him and it wrecks his potentially great career."

"Look at all the fans trying to get a ball signed by this young man. He defiantly has handled all of the media and fan attention well for someone so young.

"That didn't take long Rays fans, his first AB, first pitch and he drives it into left field for his first Major League hit!"

"OH MY! That ball is ouuttttaaa heerrreeeeee! BARRY POWERS HAS ARRIVED LADIES AND GENTLEMAN!"

What a game from our young rising star! He goes 3 from 4, gets a home run and helps the Rays beat the Red Sox 7 to 5.

          Rest of the series....

Powers draws his first MLB walk. A skill that many said he didn't have.

"And he goes BANG! That is Powers second home run already! This kid has so much power it must have something to do with the name!"

The Tampa Bay Rays sweep the Boston Red Sox in the 3 game series helping them close the gap between them and 1st place by 3 games.

The Rays look to have feed of the passion the young up and coming star in Barry Powers as they final got there bats going for a whole series.

                  Barry Powers Highlights:

When laying out for a catch is your only highlight in 3 games you know you had a bad series. Has Barry Powers been thrown into the Major Leagues to soon? His strikeout total is hit, his on-base percentage is low. He needs to flick the switch soon or he could find himself back in the minor leagues before he knows it.
