White Sox Return To Glory (MLB 15)

Hi all, just looking for a place to document the comings and going of what I hope will be a multi-year extravaganza. Picked the White Sox because 1) They are bad in this game but 2) They seem to have some exciting young pieces.

The first three games of 2015 are at Kansas City. Updated rosters make the Royals seem a little more intimidating.

    Game 1: Sale vs. Cueto
    Game 2: Samardzija vs. Volquez
    Game 3: Quintana vs. Ventura

    Wish the Sox luck!

Re: White Sox Return To Glory (MLB 15)

Game 1: White Sox (Sale) vs. Royals (Cueto)

As expected, a pitchers duel. Neither team could muster up much offense through the first 6 innings, but the Royals struck first in the bottom of the 7th, when Omar Infante doubled, scoring Alex Rios from first with 2 outs. The White Sox struck back in the top of the 8th, as Micah Johnson walked on four pitches to knock Cueto out of the game, stole second on Wade Davis, and scored on an Alexei Ramirez single to left. Melky Cabrera than sacrificed Ramirez to second, and after a Jose Abreu single to center and an Adam LaRoche strikeout, Avisail Garcia singled in Ramirez to give the White Sox a 2-1 lead, and that would be all the White Sox would need as David Robertson would slam the door shut for the save.

    Player of The Game: Chris Sale (White Sox) - 8.0 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 12 K's

Game 2: White Sox (Samardzija) vs. Royals (Volquez)

The Royals would strike first again in the bottom of the second, where with one out, Mike Moustakas and Salvador Perez singled, Alex Gordon was hit by a pitch, and Moustakas scored on a sacrifice fly to center to give the Royals a 1-0 lead. The White Sox would threaten, but not score until the Top of the 8th on a leadoff home run by Melky Cabrera off of Ryan Madsen, the 3rd pitcher used by the Royals in the game to tie the game at 1. Samardzija would pitch into the 8th, but with 1 out, gave up a single to Alex Rios which scored pinch-runner Jarrod Dyson from 2nd to give the Royals a 2-1 lead and pull Samardzija from the game. Greg Holland would come in the game and get the save from there, Royals winning 2-1.

Player of The Game: Alex Rios (Royals) - 1-3, 1 RBI (Game-Winner)

Game 3: White Sox (Quintana) vs. Royals (Ventura)

For a change, the White Sox scored in the top of the first, Melky Cabrera singled, and with two outs, Adam LaRoche homered to center to give the Sox a 2-0 lead. Then in the top of the 6th, Cabrera would walk, and Jose Abreu and LaRoche would hit back-to-back singles to load the bases and knock Ventura from the game. Wade Davis would get Avisail Garcia to pop out to the catcher, but with 2 outs, Tyler Colvin would reach on a fielding error by the Royals catcher Salvador Perez to make the score 3-0. In the bottom of the 6th, Alcides Escobar would lead off with a single, steal second, advance to 3rd on a fielding error by the right fielder of the White Sox, Garcia, and score on a single by Kendrys Morales to make the score 3-1 and put runners on the corners with 1 out. Nate Jones would come in for the White Sox at this point and get the next 2 outs and eliminate the scoring threat. In the top of the 7th, Micah Johnson would double with 1 out, and Melky Cabrera would single him home to give the White Sox a 4-1 lead. David Robertson would come in for the bottom of the 9th, but promptly gave up a leadoff home run to Salvador Perez to cut the deficit to 4-2. Then with 2 outs, Robertson would give up a single to Mike Moustakas, and a 2-run home run to Alex Gordon to tie the game at 4. Into extras the game would go, and to be more specific, the top of the 13th. With 2 outs of Royals reliever Luke Hochevar, Tyler Flowers would single, Micah Johnson would single Flowers over to 3rd, and Alexei Ramirez would single home Flowers to give the White Sox a 5-4 lead, and White Sox reliever Chris Beck would do what Robertson couldn't and have a flawless 13th for the save.

Player of The Game: Adam LaRoche (White Sox) - 2-4, 1 HR, 2 RBI, 2 BB's

    Post-Series Standings:

    AL Central

    Tigers 3-0
    White Sox 2-1
    Royals 1-2
    Indians 1-2
    Twins 0-3

Glad to see this up and running. The White Sox are an interesting team to me. Any prospects you looking to bring up and get some playing time this season?
