                  June 8: Arizona 6, Colorado 5
                  June 9: Colorado 6, Arizona 1
                  June 10: Arizona 4, Colorado 3

The Colorado Rockies bullpen imploded again on Friday night as the Arizona Diamondbacks scored three runs in the ninth inning to rally for a 6-5 victory at Coors Field. Davis Peralta went 4 for 5, hitting for the cycle, driving in two, including the go ahead run in the ninth inning. Steve Souza Jr. continued his torrid run as of late also, hitting two more home runs, both solo shots. He now has 14 home runs on the season.

Shelby Miller (4-0) picked up the win out of the bullpen, working two innings and allowing just one run. Archie Bradley worked the ninth, and after issuing an lead off walk, got a game ending double play to earn his 19th save on the season.

Nick Ahmed was hit by a pitch to open the ninth inning and suffered a broken wrist. He will likely miss two to three months and was placed on the 60-day DL following the game. Jack Reinheimer has been recalled from Triple-A Reno to take his place on the roster. Does this get the DBacks more invested in the Manny Machado sweepstakes?

The Rockies took Saturday evening's game 6-1 behind a great pitching performnace from Chris Rusin. Rusin (4-0) worked six scoreless innings, allowing just one base hit and striking out three. Trevor Story hit a three-run home run off of Robbie Ray in the fifth inning to salt this one away. Paul Goldschmidt hit a solo home run, his 14th on the year, for the lone DBacks run, as they managed just three hits.

The DBacks took the rubber match on Sunday afternoon, 4-3 over the Rockies, at Coors Field. Jake Lamb got them going with a solo home run to center in the second off of Antonio Senzatela. Daniel Descalso doubled home Steven Souza Jr to make it 2-0. Back-to-back triples from Jarrod Dyson and pinch-hitter Ketel Marte extended the lead to 3-1 in the seventh. David Peralta would add a sacrifice fly to add on an insurance run.

Daniel Castro hit his second RBI double of the night in the bottom of the seventh off of Yoshi Hirano. They would get a single run in the bottom of the eighth after a leadoff double from Charlie Blackmon. He scored after back-to-back ground outs to cut the DBacks lead to one.

Archie Bradley came on and struck out the side in the ninth to seal it and earn his 20th save on the season.

The DBacks now return home for seven games, three against Pittsburgh and four against the New York Mets. They head into the series with a 1/2 game lead over the Dodgers in the National League West.

Zack Greinke tossed a five hit complete game shutout in game two as the DBacks defeated the Pirates 2-0. An RBI double from Alex Avila in the second proved to be all the runs that Arizona would need. Steven Souza Jr. hit a solo home run in the eighth, his 15th on the season. Ivan Nova (4-3) took the loss for Pittsburgh despite a nice outing. He went 6 1/3 innings, allowing the two runs on seven hits.

Yeah, I was surprised to see the Indians struggling in the A.L. Central. You would think they have the team to dominate that division.

Robbie Ray tossed eight shutout innings on Thursday evening as the DBacks took the opener of a four game weekend series against the New York Mets 8-3. Ketel Marte hit a three-run home run to key a five run secind inning, while Alex Avila hit three doubles and drove in three in the victory. Ray (4-7) allowed just two hits in eight innings of work, striking out nine and not issuing a walk.

Yeonis Cespedes hit a three-run home run in the ninth off of reliever Fernando Salas. It was his 19th home run on the season. Jacob deGrom (4-5) took the loss for New York, lasting just three innings and allowing seven earned runs on eight hits.

The Mets took the second game of the series 3-1, scoring twice in the ninth off of reliever T.J. McFarland. Adrian Gonzalez lined a one out double to center to score Michael Conforto and Todd Frazier.

Arizona took a 1-0 lead in the fourth after A.J. Pollock singled, then stole second and third base before scoring on a Ildemaro Vargas sacrifice fly. Pollock leads the National League with 28 stolen bases on the season. The Mets tied the game in the seventh when Travis d'Arnaud singled to left with two outs to score Todd Frazier. The run was unearned after Ketel Marte kept the inning alive with a throwing error the batter before.

Zack Godley got the no decision for the DBacks despite another good outing. He went 6 2/3 innings, allowing the one unerned run on six hits. He struck out six and did not walk a batter. Jerry Blevins (4-4) got the win out of the Mets bullpen after working a scoreless eighth inning. Anthony Swarzek picked up his seventh save as he worked a perfect ninth inning.

Arizona took the third game in a slugfest, 10-7. Jake Lamb went 3 for 5 with a double, home run and three RBIs in the victory. A.J. Pollock blasted a grand slam in the fourth inning to put the DBacks up 10-4, it was his 18th on the season. Pollock also added to his stolen base total with a steal in the first inning. He leads the National League with 29.

Steven Souza Jr had to leave the game in the fourth after injuring his back swinging at a pitch. It apears that he will miss a few days but should not head to the disabled list.

The Mets managed to salvage a series split, winning 6-3 on Sunday afternoon. Jay Bruce led the charge for the Metropolitans, going 3 for 5 with a double, home run and three runs scored. Shelby Miller (4-1) took the loss out of the bullpen, allowing two runs in the seventh inning in relief of starter Zack Greinke. Greinke was not real sharp either on Sunday, allowing three runs on 10 hits in just six innings of work.

Willi Castro made his major league debut for the Mets on Sunday, acquired from the Indians on Saturday evening along with fellow prospect Ka'ai Tom in exchange for Asdrubel Cabrera. Castro went 2 for 4 with a couple of singles in his debut.

The DBacks will now hit the road for ten games with two in Anaheim against the Angels (39-34), then four in Pittsburgh (33-38), and four in Miami (26-46).
