Wow, that's a nice start going undefeated in OOC play. I doubt you'll finish the year undefeated in Big East play, but barring a collapse you should get a #1 seed. I'll join in giving you props on getting this far. For me it's more of a problem reporting on the games then playing themComment

vs.
Villanova (8-4) vs. #2 West Virginia (12-1)
WVU Coliseum
Morgantown, WV
December 30th, 2020
The Villanova Wildcats (8-4, 1-0 Big East) did it. After a rather rough start to their season, accumulating four non-conference losses and dropping out of the rankings, the Wildcats picked up a very solid win to go towards their NCAA Tournament resume as they blew out the second-ranked and previously undefeated West Virginia Mountaineers (12-1, 0-1 Big East) 96-71 on the road in Morgantown, WV. The Wildcats controlled the game from the start and it never really seemed West Virginia was going to make it a close game.
West Virginia did make a run late in the first half to cut the lead to 44-39 in favor of the Wildcats at halftime. However, after the half, West Virginia got crushed as Villanova outscored the Mountaineers 52-32 after halftime en route to their 26-point shellacking.
The key stat for the game was turnovers. After only turning the basketball over five times Sunday against San Francisco, the Mountaineers turned the ball over 21 times this evening while Villanova accumulated a mere three turnovers. That is an 18 possession swing that is just too much to overcome, even with great shooting.
"We were careless and deserved to lose," said a sullen Coach Frizzell after the game. "As I've said earlier this season, you can't turn the basketball over and expect to win games. It just doesn't happen, no matter how good you shoot or how athletic your team is."
Villanova was led by senior shooting guard Cale Floyd, who led all scorers with 22 points on the night. Small forward Robbie Valdez scored 16 for the Wildcats while Floyd Liberty and Ismail Laudato scored 13 and 11 points apiece, respectively.
With the loss, the Mountaineers fall to 12-1 and 0-1 in conference play. They will attempt to bounce back from this loss on Saturday when they will host the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

Re: Coaching Legacy of James Frizzell (CH 2K8)
Yeah, not the showing I wanted to see. Villanova was rated a 91 OVR, however, so despite their 7-4 record coming into the game, they were very dangerous and we were susceptible to an upset. Still, I didn't expect the game to turn into a blowout, though. We simply could not keep control of the basketball and were very careless with it.Comment

Hey not sure if you checked in yet, but you got some big shoes to fill. WVU won the National Title in Year 1 in my Legacy. They went into the tourney as a #10 seed and held UNC to just 67 points in the Final 4 game after UNC scored 107 in back to back games.Comment

Re: Coaching Legacy of James Frizzell (CH 2K8)
I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to fulfill what WVU did in your legacy, but I will give it my best shot!
BTW, it's time for me to toot my own horn here. I was fooling around on Google earlier and was curious how often this legacy came up on Google searches. It turns out that if you type in "coaching legacy" in Google, it has the option to auto-complete it to "coaching legacy of james frizzell." Thought that was kind of neat.Comment
