    Clemson update

    Clemson, South Carolina.
The Mighty Tigers have been rolling the last weeks of November winning 5 more games, 3 of them being "Games of the Week" by Pontiac.
Nov 16, #12 Clemson beats #11 UConn with a last second three by K.C Rivers to win 97-96. It was always within 5 points for Clemson but they didn't lead in the game until .02 seconds to go.
    Leaders:
Points: Tanner Smith 33, David Potter 20, K.C Rivers with 17.
    Rebounds: Booker with 14.

Hasheem Thabeat was a beast, 13 and 12. But 9 blocked shots. He was impossible down low, thankfully he fouled out with a minute and some change togo.

Nov 21, Clemson rallies to beat Washington 102-88. With 4 minutes to go in the game Tanner Smith fouled out, he was the only one keeping the Tigers in the game and Washington took an 8 point lead. David Potter steped in and took over, scoring 21 of his 24 points in the final 3 minutes as Clemson beat Washington.
    Leaders:
Points: Tanner Smith/Potter 24, Stitt with 14, Rivers with 13, Booker with 10 points and 15 boards.

Nov 24 Clemson runs over Columbia 112- 49. Columbia scored 30 points in the first half, 19 in the second half. 4 players scored 20+ points for the Tigers. 3 others scored 10+, and Trevor Booker had 16 rebounds and 8 blocked shots.

Re: The Legacy of Jai Morris(CH 2k8)

The Tigers add two more wins to the record.

        Clemson, SC.
Coach Oliver Purnell had built a team of speed and athleticism, but just couldn't win the big games. In the past month Jai Morris has defeated 3 teams in the top 25, #11, #23, and #2.

Dec 2, Clemson beats #2 Louisville 98 - 95. With 9 seconds remaining K.C Rivers fired up a three ball from 24 feet to seal another Clemson victory over a top 5 team. A fast paced wire to wire game that was a nail biter.
        Leaders:
        Points:
        Rivers 24, Booker 17, Oglesby 16, Stitt 15, Tanner Smith 9.
        Reb: Booker 12, Rivers 8.

        Louisville:
        Points:
        Terrence Williams 30, Smith 20, Sosa/Samules 14.
        Rb: Samuels 8, Clark 5.
        Edgar Sosa has 13 assist.

        Dec 8. Clemson beats Army 90- 50.
Demontez Stitt has 36 points 12 assist to lead the Tigers past an over-matched Army squad that played 12 players 5+ minutes. The team rotated in 5 new players each dead ball.

Re: The Legacy of Jai Morris(CH 2k8)

Clemson inks 3 on National Signing day.

Michael Beckley, Alexis Raji and Gerald Schwartz.
Remeber those names, they are all three going to be huge in the ACC over the next few years.

Michael Beckley is arguably the best player in Maryland, he will be a big time scorer for the Tigers. The coaching staff wants to put him at the 3, but play everything from the 2 to the 5 in rotation.

Raji is the best Center in the 2009 class, standing 6' 10'' the Tigers hope he can grow a few inches to dominate the ACC. He comes in with an A in shooting, defending, rebounding and skills. Coach Morris wants to use him at the 3 and 4 positions but start at the 5.

Schwartz comes out as the best player in California. The 6' 9 PF was the leader of his ABL team and is the heart and soul of his high school team, a team that was runner up for the Cali 3A state title last year. He is a project player for the Morris coaching staff, rough abilities, only a C in skills and B in intelligence but an A+ Potential.

The Tigers have 2 more scholorships to dish out this year, they hope to land #7 ovr prospect Wes Maki-Tulokas and 5 star Neil Worthington, a Junior College freshman with great skills at the 2 guard.

Re: The Legacy of Jai Morris(CH 2k8)

                ACC Recruiting round up, Midseason.
                Boston College Eagles
                ***** SG Marcel Russell
All-American from hometown Boston, the Eagles didn't have to travel far to watch this kid play. He recently played a tournament in the Eagles Alumni Hall just weeks ago. One of the best 3 point shooters in the 2009 class with 43% in ABL Play, he is one to watch.

                Clemson Tigers
                **** PF Michael Beckley
Big time scorer out of Maryland, you will hear his name often. A player who can play 2 through 4 on the court and can play defense as well as anyone. Will probably be the best freshman in the confernce at next years end.

                ***** C Alexis Raji
A short center, but a big time threat. The Tigers signed a good one out of Colorado.

                **** PF Gerald Schwartz
#69 Player and #4 Pf in the 2009 class, he will be a leading big man for a few years to come.

                Duke Blue Devils
                ***** PG Tanner Adler
The best player(#5 ovr in the 2009 HS class) inked in the conference is the only player the Blue Devils needed. The Massachusetts native will start at point for Duke next year.

                Florida State
                **** SG Quincy Steele
6'7'' Junior College transfer is going to bring instant firepower to the Seminoles offense.

                Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets
                **** SG Quin Hazel
A tall SG from Atlanta, Quin might be the the second best 3 point shooter in the class (42%), however he doesn't take that many only a 35 tendency his game is more at the basket on penetration.

                *** PF Lace Mallory
A short PF, only 6' 6'', he will be moved to Sf or Sg because his range with his shot, he is also a great defender. GT might have found a diamond in the rust with Quin Hazel's teammate Mallory.

                *** SG J.S Sessoms
The third ABL teammate that GT inked from the Hot Ballaz in Atlanta. J.S is a true swingman SF with a great 3 point shot(11 of 17 in ABL) and a spectacular dunking ability.

                Maryland Terrapins
                ***** SF Travon Turner
A tall Sf, Mr. Basketball in Georgia, Turner was a a hot topic amongst the ACC. Georgia Tech and Maryland battled to no end for his services next year this All-American will be an instant impact for the boys in red.

                Miami Hurricanes
                **** PG Raoul Rindnour
Luke's little brother is another great PG from the state of Washington. With McClinton going pro the Hurricanes needed someone to take control of the team.

                *** SG D.C Delgado
Another hot hand to fill in for McClinton's minutes. A local boy for the Hurricanes.

                *** SF Femi Nash
The short SF has a strange name but a great defense. Could develop into a wonderful ACC player.

                UNC
                ***** PG Bernie Myles
In another heated contest over a major prospect the Tarheels beat out Clemson to get Myles. The most all around PG, and a great pick up for the Tarheel's as Ty Lawson will likely go pro.

                NC State
                *** C Shon Gregory
6' 10 Center from Bmore, Maryland. Averages a double double in high school and is a good defender.

                *** PF Randy Ervin
6' 7 PF from Florida, very undersized but athletic, will give defenders fits with his speed.

                ** C Caleb McCrommon
7' Center from Virginia is a scoring machine, over 15 points in ABL play. Big size with great potential.

                Virginia Cavaliers
                *** PG Freddie Skeeter
Can't make up that name, Doug is their next addition.

                *** PF Majak Valentine
Very tall PF at 6' 11

                Virginia Tech
                *** SF John Gale
North Carolina SF with good upsize an speed.

                *** PG Don Draughan
VT is looking to add two speedy guys to the roster.

                Wake Forest
                **** SG John Krager
Tall SG from D.C. kind of like a young Oglesby, but black.

                **** PF Sly Ivey
Tall kid from Queens will make the young deacons even more powerful down low.

                Winners:
                Duke, UNC, Clemson

                Losers:
                Nc State, Virginia.

In another fast paces game Coach Morris had his Tigers up to par to beat the Texas LongHorns. "I think our boys are very tired, we have been running, running, running. In practice we barley run because we know its going to be a track meet during the games we focus on defense and shooting. I think its paying off, we are really playing great after a sloppy start. Our bigs are finnally clicking as a tandem down low. Booker and Baciu are picking up easy transition buckets and drawing the collapse so our guards can shoot open looks from the wings. Stitt finally has the dribble drive under control and we look to roll the rest of December in pretty easy until we go to the Dean Dome January 6."

                  Clemson stats:
                  Stitt 18 points, 5 assist.
Rivers 17 points, 4 rebounds 7-9 from the field.
Smith 9 points, but was injured late in the game.
                  Booker 17 points 12 boards, 8-13 FG%.
Baciu 12 points 11 rebounds, 6-11 from the charity stripe(That hurts)

Notes: Potter had 12 points in 6 minutes, 5-8 from the field, but was also hurt with a leg injury. No word on how long he will be out.

                  Texas:
Abrams 23 points, 6 assist. 24 shots in the game and played 39 minutes.
Mason 15 points and 6 assist. 3-9 from 3 land.
Johnson 14 and 11 with 7 blocked shots, he overmatched Oglesby often.
James 6 and 6 but picked up 3 early fouls
Dexter Pittman had 7 points, 11 boards but fouled out.
Harrison Smith had 19 points in 11 minutes off the bench. 5-7 from 3.

Notes: Texas had 3 players foul out.

                  #3 Clemson is (11-0)

Clemson rolls past Broncos. "I hate to win like that, but its hard to not run over a weak team. We played our 3 man bench for the entire second half but they still were able to put up 38 points. I think size was a big issue, Boise's tallest player was 6' 9 and he never saw the court. We have 4 players that height or taller."

                    Clemson stats:
                    Stitt 11 points, 7 rebounds, 7 Assist.
Rivers 5 points, 10 rebounds, 1-7 from the field.
                    Smith 20 points, 5 rebounds/assist, 8-14 Fg%
Booker 22 points 19 boards, 9-21 from Fg
Baciu 17 points 11 rebounds in 17 minutes

Notes: Rivers has come under the flu and only played 15 minutes and was not dressed in the second half. Free throw shooting in practice payed off for Baciu, he was 8-9 from the stripe.

                    Boise:
2 players with 5+ points. Sg Garner with 8 and SF Noonan with 9 off the bench.

Clemson wins another nail biter in LittleJohn Coliseum. It seems to be a trend that the Tigers love, according to leading scorer Demontez Stitt the teams love the drama and the action, "When its down the wire and there is less than a minute to go, its go time for us, we live off that feeling." The Tigers were evenly paced the entire game, at half time the game could go either way at a deadlock 31- 31 tie. When it came to the last minutes Ole Miss' tried to get an upper hand by fouling but Booker, Baciu and Tanner Smith were almost perfect each trip to the line.

Clemson almost got stunned but the Samford Bulldogs on a saturday afternoon. "We we're looking ahead and almost got left behind" as senior K.C Rivers put it, the Tigers were looking ahead to the top 25 match up with Alabama next tuesday when they go down to face the Tide. The Tigers came out flat and if it wasn't for an all around team effort in the second half they would have come away with a loss. Coach Jai Morris, "Not happy, not happy one bit. We worked hard in practice, we watched lots of tape and still our boys scoffed the thought this team would come close to us. Terrible mindset, we might take a big hit in conference time with that mindset."
