I hear ya on Josh Smith and the charity stripe lol. I think he's shooting somewhere in the low 40% for me. But he is throwing down 20-30 points a game even with the horrid FT%.

Thanks for the advice btw. I have noticed that it's mostly my jumpshots that screw me over. Mostly if I aint wide open it aint goin in the hoop.

GL in the rest of the season I'll def keep watching to see how it's going.

And I see your having problems with Marvin Williams. What were you thinking of doing with him?

Marvin will probably stay as my starter. I'm playing realistically here, but if I wasn't, I would have traded him away to Memphis by now... along with Josh Smith, lol.

Marvin gives the team a more well-rounded starting lineup. He's a decent defender and rebounder and is a mismatch against a lot of the smaller SF's or a lot of hte slower SF's in the league.

Yea Marvin struggles a lot in my association as well but when he gets the right matchup he becomes unstoppable. Put him against a smaller SF and I can back down into the post with him all day.

Get him against a slow SF and he can work it around for a good jumper.

Been practicing on my jumpers so hopefully I'll be able to have a little more success (lord knows I gotta win a game sometime lol).

          GAME 16: Atlanta Hawks (9-6) @ Philadelphia 76ers (5-10)

The Atlanta Hawks were looking to bounce off their losing streak, and tonight they did just that. With the help of solid play from their starters, the bench basically played most of the game as it was a blowout throughout the night.

SG Joe Johnson (19 pt, 3 reb, 4 ast) was named the player of the game and started the night off a hot start. He had 17 in the first half.

Glad to see ya came off that losing streak finally. I know how frustrating that can be. Especially losing to bottom tier teams that make you wanna facepalm.

How's Teague doing btw? He rips up the J's when I get him in every now n then.

Teague's averaging around 8 minutes per game for me (I think). He's hot or cold... very fast though but still has a ways to go in terms of development.

                GAME 17: Atlanta Hawks (10-6) @ Detroit Pistons (8-8)

The Hawks end the month of November at Detroit. It was a one-sided game for the Hawks as they were hell-bent on ending the season on a positive note. No one other than PF Josh Smith (35 pts, 11 rebs, 4 asts, 3 stls, 3 blks) could have helped the Hawks more tonight. He was the definition of "stat-stuffer" and he even went 7-for-11 on the charity line.

                    GAME 18: Toronto Raptors (10-9) @ Atlanta Hawks (11-6)

The Hawks began their month of December with a quality win over a solid team. Hawks' captain and leader SG Joe Johnson (21 pts, 7 reb, 5 ast) had a terrific night as the Raptors had no answer to his offense. The Hawks also outrebounded the Raptors by a margin of 10 as PF Al Horford (11 pts, 17 reb) and PF Josh Smith (17 pts, 8 reb) made sure that PF Chris Bosh (8 pts, 9 reb) would not outrebound them like he did in their previous matchups. SG Jamal Crawford (21 pts, 2 reb, 7 ast) provided quality minutes off the bench and further solidified the title of "6th Man of the Year" thus far. SF Marvin Williams (20 pts, 3 reb) had a breakout game as he helped pick up the slack of PG Mike Bibby (0 pts, 2 reb, 7 ast).

Looks like the season is turning in your favor. Some quality wins there.

Glad to see Marvin Williams is stepping up when you need it.

GAME 19: New York Knicks (8-11) @ Atlanta Hawks (12-6)

The Hawks suffered another depressing defeat as they are beaten by the Knicks at their own home court. The game was an interesting one as the Hawks were beating beaten tremendously all night, and with the help of rookie PG Jeff Teague (15 pts, 3 ast), the Hawks rallied down the line as they played full court D. SG Joe Johnson (15 pts, 7 reb, 4 ast) was cold for the first three quarters as he only shot 6-for-21 tonight. PF Josh Smith (17 pts, 10 reb, 2 ast, 4 blk) had a nice line, but was only 3-for-9 from the charity strip and is showing no signs of improvement.

With 5 seconds left on the clock, the game was nodded up 105-105. PG Mike Bibby (15 pts, 10 ast) would then turn the ball over on a wild pass and SG Nate Robinson (17 pts, 9 ast) would throw it down for the dunk as the clock runs down to 1.5 seconds, and with that much time left, Joe Johnson missed a last-second heave from behind the three point line.

Made a couple changes to my association... I changed Joe Johnson sig shot back to "J. Johnson"... and went over to Playmakers' Pro Sliders to try em out for a few games.

EDIT: Tested the sliders... didn't like them, went back to the sliders of GreeneFlash.

                            GAME 20: Atlanta Hawks (12-7) @ Dallas Mavericks (11-9)

SG Joe Johnson (26 points, 3 ast) bounced back from his terrible game against New York as he helped give the Hawks the offensive boost that they needed to defeat the Dallas Mavericks. The game stayed close throughout the entire night and the Hawks looked to their captain to yet again close another game down for them. PF Josh Smith (16 pts, 10 reb, 2 stl, 1 blk) had a solid night as he went on to be named the player of the game for the Atlanta Hawks.

The two players that gave the Hawks the most trouble were SG Jason Terry (23 pts, 3 reb, 4 ast) and PF Dirk Nowitzki (34 pts, 8 reb).

The Hawks made an unusually high amount of free throws as they went 23-for-28 from the free throw line (Dallas committed 15 team fouls) making it 82% of the free throws made. The Hawks also had an unusual stat line as their points in the paint piled up to 54. The Hawks, while improving their FT%, have shown yet another weakness, however... their 3PT%. Today, they shot 2-of-12 from outside the line making that just 16% made. Coach Mike Woodson claims that that will be the next thing he will get this team to work on.

Next Game: The Hawks will come back home to face off against Derrick Rose and the 10-9 Chicago Bulls. Rose, averaging 20 PPG, 7.7 APG, and 2.9 RPG, comes in as the leading scorer on the lately struggling Bulls (4-6 in the past 10 games). The Hawks will look to capitalize as they try to catch on fire again as they did in the beginning of the season.

                            ACCOLADES THIS WEEK:

                              GAME 21: Chicago Bulls (10-9) @ Atlanta Hawks (13-7)

Hawks' captain and scoring leader SG Joe Johnson (31 pts, 4 ast, 3 stl) lead the team to another night of victory as the Hawks defeated the Bulls 96-93. He would later be named the player of the game ... G Kirk Hinrich (25 pts, 5 ast) proved to be a tough one to defend as the Bulls held on until the very end of the game. With 1.6 seconds left, the Bulls had a chance to shoot the buzzer beater, and thanks to yet another steal by PF Josh Smith (15 pts, 10 reb, 4 astl, 3 blk), the Bulls were finally put away ... C Al Horford (12 pts, 15 reb, 3 stl, 2 blk) also piled the statsheet up to go along with his counterpart ... The Hawks continue their terrible 3-point shooting as they go 2-for-13. That brings the Hawks' last in the league with a shooting percentage of only 32% from behind the line. It took the Hawks a while to get over their foul shooting woes, but they did get over the hump. So they may be able to fix it, but Coach Mike Woodson will most likely need much more time to get his team to start making their threes.

                                GAME 22: Atlanta Hawks (14-7) @ Toronto Raptors (13-11)

SF Marvin Williams (32 pts, 8 reb, 4 ast, 2 stl, 1 blk) had arguably the greatest game of his career. With SG Joe Johnson (18 pts, 5 reb, 3 ast) struggling; shooting only 7-for-23 and 0-for-7 from behind the line, Marvin chose no better opportunity to break out. Many fans were criticizing him calling him the Invisible Man. There were even rumors that he might be traded off to Memphis, but tonight, Marvin showed those fans why he was regarded as one of the best prospects to come out of the draft. He showed the explosiveness and the tenacity that he showed as a freshman in college.

The Hawks continue their slump in the three point category. Joe Johnson, as mentioned before, was terrible from behind the line, but he wasn't the only one. The team shot 10% from the three point line and was 2-for-19. The only two that were made was shot by Marvin Williams, who shot 2-for-4 from there. Along with Joe Johnson, Mike Bibby (0-for-4), Jamal Crawford (0-for-2), and Jeff Teague (0-for-2) also missed all of their three point shots. This may be an area for concern as the Hawks should be known for making threes not missing them especially with the amount of shooters they have on this team. Woodson claimed that the Hawks put in extra work practicing their threes, but it was certainly not showing tonight as most of the missed shots were wide open.

Next Game: When will the three point nightmares end for Atlanta? We can tell when the Hawks travel back to Atlanta for a three-game home stand as they face off against the 12-11 New Jersey Nets (4-10 in the past 10 games). SG Jamal Crawford is listed as 'day-to-day' as he reportedly twisted his ankle during a team practice Saturday. He is expected to play.
