    UNLV Runnin' Rebels Legacy (Ch2k8)

I will be doing a UNLV legacy as head coach Lon Kruger. I'm not too great at HTML or anything, so this thread isn't going to be too flashy, but it will be a good read for those who like to follow college hoops.

=P and no I'm using one of OS's. With a few edits to UNLV and other MWC schools, as well as other teams I feel were underrated

Glad to see it. I actually ran with UNLV for 4 years back in my Coach Akpan days. Andy Akpan was my favorite player in all of my legacies and he was a Mr BB from Las Vegas NV but after not getting a scholarship offer from UNLV and Nevada he came and played at Boise State for the orginal Coach Dezaron. Then I turned him into a coach who started out at Texas Southern but went on to UNLV to lead them when Coach K retired.

Good luck. I know you are going to need it especially during the Washington State game.

              #4 (0-0) @ #16 (0-0)

The UNLV Runnin' Rebels believe that the Mountain West Conference is theirs to lose this year. With transfers Derrick Jasper (Kentucky) and Chase Stanback (UCLA), the Runnin' Rebs have high hopes for this season. They started off the season against yearly opponent, #4 Louisville. The Rebs beat Louisville in Louisville last year without former rebel star, Wink Adams. Tonight they had all of their starters and were convinced to win at the Mack.

In the first half, UNLV came out showing the world what they had, as this game was televised on ESPN. Junior captain, Tre'Von Willis had the first 8 points for the Rebels, knocking down two 3 pointers and a hard dunk over Sophomore, Semardo Samuels. This caused coach Rick Pitino to call a timeout. UNLV never looked back after that timeout. The first half was an offensive show as UNLV scored 54 points, but Louisville also was putting on a show, scoring 44 points in the first half.

At halftime coach Kruger made adjustments to where he could attempt to keep his comfortable 10 point lead, and so he did. The Runnin' Rebels of UNLV win their first game of the season, with a demanding 92-83 win over #4 nationally ranked, Louisville.

Coach Kruger : "I'm extremely impressed on how we played tonight, and if we can play like this for the rest of the season, you better believe we will go far in the NCAA tourney. The main difference in this game was our free throw shooting performance. We got to the line 22 times, and converted 19 of them. The guys deserved this win after a performance like that. Our 3 point shooters were hot tonight, and everything was falling for us."

              UNLV top performers:
              Oscar Bellfield - 16 pts, 2 stl, 2 ast
              Tre'Von Willis - 15 pts, 4 ast
              Derrick Jasper - 15 pts, 3 reb, 3 ast
              Kendall Wallace - 12 points

              Louisville top performers:
Preston Knowles -17 pts, 2 stl, 5-10 from 3 pt land
Jerry Smith - 16 pts, 4-6 from 3 pt land
              Rakeem Buckles - 12 pts 3 reb

Next up, UNLV travels to Hawaii for the Hawaiin Invitational

Thanks, I'm basing my format off of yours if you couldn't tell. That sounds cool, I've never really been able to get into a closed legacy though, I'm not that patient

After that Louisville game, I jumped from #16 to #5...I hate that about Ch2k8. The polls are terrible lol. I don't even know how I was pre-ranked at #16...

Re: UNLV Runnin' Rebels Legacy (Ch2k8)

Congrats on the big win. Louisiville is one of my top rivals on this game. Seems like I play them every year in the tourney especially well at Boise State. (For some reason the selection committee likes that matchup in real life as well)

The polls are one thing that needs fixed if they ever make a 2k11. It's all based off of the teams Overall Rating not off records or who you beat. At least thats what I notice most of the time. I played a game once where I was #7 and beat #2 yet I dropped to #9.???

As far as layout. I like it I am always looking to upgrade my look but so far I have had a hard time finding anything else to add. I don't know how these guys do all the pics and video stuff. I just download images into photobuket and then add them to my post.

Thanks! I hate Louisville. I actually went to the Louisville @ UNLV game this year where we did beat them, and they were actually ranked at 16 (Louisville). But yeah I have noticed that with the rankings as well.

And as far as the layout, I'm right there with ya. I don't know how to make it look all good with the pictures and the HTML tables and all that good stuff, the only I know how to do is download team logo's and put them on here lol.

                        (2-0) @ #5 (1-0)

The Rebels of UNLV travel to Hawaii to hopefully come home with the Hawaii'n trophy. The Rebels would open up their first round against Big 12 team, Oklahoma State. After seeing UNLV play well against Louisville, they became the favorites in this one. The Rebels would open up the game going on a 14-5 run against the Cowboys. This run would continue on the whole first half. The Rebels would be up 46-24 going into halftime, thanks to Massamba's great first half with 15 points.

The second half would be the same story. UNLV was firing on all cylinders and looked like a national championship-worthy team. The Rebels would shut down the Cowboys, holding them to 48 points. The Rebels hold on to the win 81-48, advancing to 2-0 on the year.

                        UNLV top performers
                        Massamba - 17 points 6 reb 5 ast
                        Jasper - 11 pts 8 reb
                        Stanback - 12 pts 2 reb 2 ast

                        Oklahoma State top performers
                        Muonelo - 9 pts 7 reb 4 ast
                        Anderson - 9 pts 3 reb

In the 2nd round of the tournament, UNLV faces 2-2 Alabama A&M, who defeated Marquette in the first round. The winner of UNLV and Alabama A&M faces Arizona State in the final.
