Hey you look like you have a good team on your hands... I was just wondering which game this was because SC Upstate isn't in your conference and they joined the A-Sun in the 07-08

Preview- Kennesaw State Owl's at Mercer Bears

      at

      Mercer | Kennesaw State
      ________________________________
      2-2 (0-1) | Record | 5-3 (1-0)
      73.5 | Points Per Game | 62.1
      40.3 | Rebounds Per Game | 25.6
      15.8 | Assists Per Game | 13.6
      16.3 | Turnovers Per Game | 7.5
      %42.1 | Field Goal Percent | %43.6
      %66.7 | Free Throw Percent | %49.5
      %29.0 | Three Point Percent | %29.7

These teams bring an interesting matchup to the table. This conference matchup will have Mercer's high power offense going against Kennesaw State's great defense and efficient offense. Kennesaw is averaging over 17 steals per game and Mercer averages almost 17 turnovers per game, this could turn into a nightmare for Mercer if they don't take care of the ball. Kennesaw is efficient at not turning the ball over, but they have struggled to convert free throws and hit open shots. Mercer's one big advantage over Kennesaw is in rebounding, as the Owl's are the worst team in the NCAA in rebounding (thats right, dead last).

        2-2 (0-1) Mercer- 32
        5-3 (1-0) Kennesaw State- 56

Kennesaw State has emerged victorious for the sixth time in nine games this season, in what was one of the slowest and lowest games of the season. The Owl's dominated Conference opponent Mercer, but both teams struggled to score. Mercer's high powered offense bowed to the strong inside play of Kennesaw and turned the ball over 21 times, rendering Mercer's defense helpless against the onslaught of fast breaks put on by Kennesaw. Kennesaw's offense however failed to hit open shots and Both teams played a slow-it-down style that resulted in a low scoring, slow paced game.

"I feel comfortable with how we played, especially on defense" said Coach Hansen.

        Kennesaw Top Players:

        Raoul Trammell- 16 points, 3 reb, 2 ast, 5 stl, 5/14 FGs, 2/3 3pts
Tasmin Schwartz- 9 points, 4 assists, 4/6 FGs
Trey Ballinger- 3 points, 9 reb, 2 ast, 1 blocks

@VandyRedskins21, Im playing this in 2k7 so no SC Upstate.

The team isn't too shabby, My main source of offense is capitolizing off turnovers (I have steals set at 18 but still get a lot). The stats are definetly different when playing with players whose ratings are in the 50's.

Im playing 15 minute halfs, but im gunna start bumping them up by a few minutes over the course of the next few games to get some better stats, I feel a bit behind the other teams, especially in rebounds.

            Kennesaw Making Waves Early
            By Jeff Caprice

Its 5:30 AM in Kennesaw. The campus is littered with a few lights shining from dorm windows, the devoted students. The Small town is resting. But nestled near the back of the Kennesaw State Campus, is the Athletic office, and there you will find mens basketball coach Noah Hansen. He has a cot in his office, a coffee make and lots of film.
"Sometimes after a game or a long day of working on some schemes I crash here." Said Hansen over laughter.
The 29 year old has more people talking about Owl's basketball through 9 games then any coach has since the 2004 championship season. Hansen's work ethic is rivaled by nearly no one on the campus, and he needs to work even more to get the team where he says he wants it.
"I can never do enough in my oppinion, theres always something else that I can do to make us a little bit better. My goal is to get wins this year." Said the rookie head coach.

Hansen has brought the team 6 wins faster than they have ever got them in their time among the D1 ranks. Hansen has built a defensive minded team that revolves around a sturdy group of freshman with the help of some Juniors and Seniors and the occasional Sophomore. Hansens goal: be a contender for a conference title and get the Spec Landrum Center back to its glory days, when 5,000 fans used to be nothing to attend a game.

The Owl's have a two week break now, and as the signing period ends, Hansen says recruiting is his number one task over that two week period.
While most coaches may be talking to high ranked highschool seniors, Hansen is wooing highschool juniors, junior college transfers and foriegn prospects, showing them pictures of the new player lounge he had constructed and telling them of his devotion to helping players achieving their dreams.
"If a player wants to get to the NBA, if thats his dream, than I'm going to do everything to help that player get where they want to be. I'm a dream guy, I day dream a lot, and I never drempt that I would be coaching a team that has as much guts and spirit as these guys, so dreams mean a lot to me." Said Hansen.

If you havn't got a chance to check out the Owl's yet this season, check the Kennesaw State Athletics website for a full schedule of games. General Admission to games at the Spec Landrum center start at $6.50. The next home game for the Owl's is December 2nd as they host Lipscomb.

Ok thanks for letting me know. And yea I am playing 15 minute halves in my career legacy too and I might bump it up as well for the same reasons as you. You seem like you are having a very successful legacy so far. Keep it up!

Preview- Kennesaw State Owl's at UW-Green Bay Phoenix

                UW-Green Bay | Kennesaw State
                ________________________________

                64.1 | Points Per Game | 61.4
                33.7 | Rebounds Per Game | 25.8
                12.9 | Assists Per Game | 13.2

                %67.9 | Free Throw Percent | %53.4
                %34.4 | Three Point Percent | %30.2

These two non conference opponents should match up nicely as Kennesaw comes to Green Bay. Once again Kennesaw is clowned in the rebounding catagory, but everything else is pretty even. Kennesaw has got its free throw percentage up considerably in the past few games, its now over 53 percent.

Yeah its a lot of fun playing with an obscure team, I checked your legacy out as well. I had actually been thinking about Radford, but Kennesaw just seemed right haha.

It was another defensive masterpiece by the Owl's on Tuesday as Kennesaw whooped up on UWGB infront of 6,000 Green Bay faithful. Gregg Bouma dominated the game scoring 27 points, a season high for any Kennesaw player. The Owl's ran the fastbreak, slowed Green Bay down, and most importantly; hit shots. The Owl's nailed 7/17 fom beyond the arc and shot .466 overall.

"We're playing some great basketball right now, pretty simple. We've got a couple of tournaments coming up so we picked a good time to get our game figured out." Said Coach Hansen

Kennesaw is in rhythem and playing its best ball, Maryland is going to have to stop their offense and find a way to crack one of the best defenses among the Mid Major ranks.

Kennesaw State got their blowout on, blowing away Maryland Eatern Shores in the first round of the Vegas Invite Tourny. The Owl's collected a season high 42 rebounds, commited just 7 turnovers and forced 22 turnovers. Up until this game no Owl's player had recorded a double-double, but two players got one in this one, as Tasmin Schwartz (20 points, 10 assists) and Sheray Alpay (12 Points, 11 rebounds) became the first players under Coach Noah Hansen to do so.

"We couldn't have played better out there today, we were at our top game. I finally felt satisfied with the rebounding, and our offense was brilliant." Said Hansen.

Kennesaw State now advances to the second and final round of the tourny. Other notes on the game include Gregg Bouma's bad offensive performance, as he shot 3/14 from the field, and 0/5 from long range on his way to 6 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Trey Ballinger fouled out with 9:36 left in the second half, he left the game with 4 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 4 blocks.

Kennesaw is rolling, but lets not forget the last time they made it to the Final ROund of a tournament they choked. Kennesaw needs to play a full 40 minutes in this one. Charleston may be struggling to get to .500, but they are ranked higher in the RPI than some of Kennesaw's earlier opponents. Both teams are lead by young coaches looking to make their mark, so this game means a lot to both teams.

Kennesaw State continues its roll by destroying Charleston Southern in the championship game of the Vegas Invite. Raoul Trammell scored the first 11 points of the game, on his way to a 32 point game, as the Owl's offense exploded for its most potent game of the season. Gregg Bouma added 17 points and 7 rebounds and Tasmin Schwartz ammased a season high 14 assists.

Charleston was able to hang with the Owl's for most of the game, but the Kennesaw defense allowed just 4 points over the last 13 minutes. Kennesaw has one more tournament, the Soda Pop Classic, remaining, before they get into the thick of their conference games. The Owl's are now on a five game win streak, in which their style of play has gone from a fastbreak bang-it-inside team, to a set up offense, one in which point guard Tas Schwartz has excelled.

"Whether its been Harvey (Ewing) or Raoul (Trammell) or Gregg (Bouma), Tas has done a good job of finding the hot hand out there, and the stats are really showing it." Said Coach Hansen.
