Yes, Fab King is my top priority right now, he's a point guard and with Tasmin Schwartz being a senior, it makes getting him all the more important.

Isreal Joiner is pretty much just a safety valve point guard, and since he's the only other highschool senior even close to liking my school I thought I might as well offer him a scholarship.

Hey just thought I'd throw some advice out there... If you are looking for a recruit to sign, don't necessarily look at how much he likes your school but how much he likes you compared to other schools. If a recruit has 58% interest in you it might not seem like a lot but look at how much the other schools are interested in the same guy. You can find a lot of 2* recruits like that and sometimes even 3* recruits that are like in the 50s and 60s interest but you can still sneak in and grab the recruit. Just thought I would throw my 2 cents in there haha. Btw great job so far this season especially against Colorado St!

thanks I apreciate the advice. Recruiting is definetly a concern becaus eI want to build this program up (I plan on staying for about 5 years). But the nice thing is, because I have like 7 freshman this season, I can afford to take a hit this offseason. I think if I win the conference, the highschool juniors and sophomores that im recruiting right now, will definetly sway my way.

          Kennesaw Aiming for Tournament Bid
          By Jeff Caprice

The last time Kennesaw played in a tournament they won the national championship. Of course that was D2, but the Owl's believe if they can get an invite to any type of tournament this season, they could make waves.

New coach Noah Hansen has a sense of belief instilled in the Owl's, and they have produced a steady stream of solid wins and are developing an identity as a hardnosed, in your face, defensive team. Coach Hansen has made a quick turnaround of the Owl's, and they have already matched their win total of 10 games last season. With 15 games left on the schedule, 14 of them conference games, the Owl's still have half a season to get noticed for a tournament bid, though their RPI will have to do most of the talking.

"Teams like us, our record isn't as important as our RPI is in determining if we get into a post season tournament, that why its really important for us not to drop any more games to teams we shouldn't be losing too." Said Coach Hansen, when asked about his teams chances for a tournament bid.

The other deciding factor is often the conference record. Teams in weaker conferences often need to show that the teams in their conference are no match for them, which is why Kennesaw would need to win almost all of their remaining games to really get looked at for an NCAA bid. With the Conference shedule now at the forefront of their vision, the Owl's set the sights at Eastern Tennessee State, who at 7-6 and 4-0 in conference play, may be their biggest opponent going down the stretch. The two teams will have their first matchup in just 15 days on January 20th, and will meet for their second matchup on Kennesaw's third to last game of the year, a contest in Kennesaw.

              12-4 (3-1) Kennesaw State- 85
              3-6 (1-1) Campbell- 71

Kennesaw was able to keep its roll on saturday night as it posted a mildly dominating win over Campbell. Kennesaw made the travel to Boius, North Carolina not really knowing what to expect from the Camels.

"We had seen their game tape and all, but they really havn't played very many games this year, especially in conference, so we didn't really know a lot about them, I think we did a good job of closing them out in this one." Said Coach Hansen

The Camels hopped out to an early 26-16 lead, but runs of 12-2 and 10-2 gave the Owl's a 42-37 halftime lead. The second half was dominated by Kennesaw's defense, forcing missed shots and rebounding well, meanwhile the offense cleaned the boards for a season high 15 offense rebounds.

"When you give a team the kind of second chance opprotunities that we did tonight, you're basically giving them the basketball game." Said Campbell Coach Rob Laing.

With this victory Kennesaw State now finds themselves a half game back from the division lead going into their next game, a visit to 1-10 Gardner-Webb. Trey Ballinger is continuing to tear it up, as the 7-foot-1 Center has scored over 20 points in his last four games, and has scored in double digits for 6 straight. Ballinger is averaging 9.2 points per game this season.

              Kennesaw Top Players:
Trey Ballinger- 22 points, 10 reb, 9/18 FGs
              Tasmin Shwartz- 13 points, 5 reb, 4 stl, 3/4 3pts

I think Trey Ballinger has made something apperent; He is a beast. The Owl's Center logged his most impressive game of his short career thus far, exploding for 28 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. The rest of the team performed admirably as well, as Kennesaw scored a new team record for points in a game, and blasted conference opponent Gardner-Webb out of the water.

"I don't think we even played our best basketball out there today, we could and should have done better, but when you play a team with a record like this, you tend to not try your hardest." Said Coach Hansen. "Concivably, there was a few spots in that game where they had the chance to take control of the game, we could have easily lost that contest."

Its hard to tell whether Coach Hansen is being hard on his team or just expects more, but it was certainly an impressive win for the Owl's. Rebounding was a problem much of the night for the Owl's, as they let up 11 offensive rebounds to a usually horrible rebounding team.

With that win the Owl's move into a tie for place in the Atlantic Sun Conference with Eastern Tennessee State (Both 5-1).

                  Top Kennesaw Players:
Trey Ballinger- 28 points, 10 reb, 5 ast, 2 blocks
Tasmin Schwartz- 16 points, 13 ast
Raoul Trammell- 12 points, 5 reb, 2 ast

Kennesaw is fighting hard to keep their RPI under 100, and that loss to Lipscomb shot it way up, as the new rankings sent the Owl's shooting up 55 points. Jacksonville needs a win here to get themselves back into the conference race, meanwhile Kennesaw is looking to take over the conference lead.

Well it seems as if Kennesaw has once again forgot how to play defense. Luckily for the Owl's Trey Ballinger, Raoul Trammell and Harvey Ewing remembered their offensive assignments, and Deji Smalls was able to come up with a clutch performance.

Kennesaw seemingly had a lockdown on the game, allowing just 25 points through the first 17 minutes, but Jacksonville exploded, doubling their score in the next 5 minutes. Kennesaw saw their lead diminish steadily and at one point faced an 8 point deficit. Coach Hansen was visibly irratated with his teams poor performance throughout the whole game, with his assistant coaches having to restrain him from running on court on several occasions.

Near the end of the game Harvey Ewing would hit two huge three pointers, one to get within a point, and one to tie the game, before Jacksonville once again took the lead with 2.8 seconds. With no timeouts left and needing a basket, Ballinger heaved the inbounds to Tasmin SHwartz who flipped it to Deji Smalls, who was running to the key. As time expired Smalls made a miraculous flip to the basket, scoring an amazing bucket to tie the game at 90 and force overtime.

In overtime it was all Kennesaw as they outscored the Dolphins 14-4. Trey Ballinger extended his 20+ point game scoring streak to 5 games, and recorded his second straight double-double.

                      Kennesaw Top Players:
