BROWN EXPOSED IN OPENING GAME

11/3/14 - Olean, NY: After being tied at halftime, the Bears were held to 4-32 shooting in the second half. The went 0-16 from 3 in the second half. They also gave up 51 points in the second half.

"We came out extremely flat in the second half. We did not run our offense effectively, we took dumb shots, we didn't hustle on the boards, and we gave them open shot after open shot," said Rogers.

Brown boasts a very good frontcourt with Wheless, Badu, and Bozeman but only scored 13 combined.

"Wheless was pretty disappointing tonight to be honest," commented Rogers, "He will come back and be his normal self next game. Badu might not have scored much tonight, but I thought he played a really good game. He played solid defense and did a lot of good things that didn't show up on the statsheet."

This was not how head coach Rogers and his Bears expected to start their season after winning a conference championship. They look to bounce back against North Carolina A&T in the NIT Season Tip-Off.

BROWN DOMINATES IN NIT OPENING ROUND

11/8/14 - Columbus, OH: The Bears used a dominating second half to secure their first win of the 2014-15 campaign.

"It was a very good game for our guys," commented Rogers, "Our bigs did a really good job taking the fight to them."

The trio of big men that Brown boasts racked up 48 points and 28 rebounds.

"I was really pleased with our frontcourt tonight. We scored something like 50 points in the paint. I was especially proud of Joey. He showed we he can do tonight. Izik had a career game himself getting a double double."

Freshman Andriel Carlisle also showed what he was capable of doing knocking down two 3s.

"A.C. obviously is getting all the attention as the new kid on the block but Andriel is very good in his own right. He wasn't highly recruited in high school being just a 2 star, but he has a lot of talent and we are fortunate to have found him."

BROWN HEADED TO MADISON SQUARE GARDEN

11/9/14 - Columbus, OH: The Bears looked down and out when freshman A.C. Badu took over.

"A.C. really stepped up in the second half," said Rogers, "He was basically non-existent in the first half but really came alive after the break."

However Badu wasn't the only one to step up in the second half. Christian Gore hit three straight 3s early in the second half.

"Christian really gave us a lot of momentum with those shots. We never really looked alive until he starting hitting. Everything came together after that. Taylor Wright also had an outstanding all around night."

Brown is now heading to Madison Square Garden where they will face off against UCF. #25 Marquette and San Diego State are the other teams in the tournament.

"We are extremely excited to get the opportunity to play in front of a national audience in a historic stadium."

BEARS ESCAPE WITH WIN ON THE ROAD

11/13/14 - Philadelphia, PA: Brown got revenge after getting blown out last season against Drexel.

"This was a very good game to win," said Rogers, "We had an 8 or 9 point lead for a lot of the second half but we could never pull away. That is what playing on the road against a good team is all about. That was just a great game to win."

Last season Drexel beat the bears by 32 in the same gym and was also a 7 seed in the NCAA tournament.

"That was an extremely good team that we just played. They have an extremely talented backcourt and they should be a tournament team this year again."

Once again the Bears dominated in the paint in order to get the victory.

"It's no secret that our post game is our strong point. 14 of our first 16 points in the second half were between Joey and A.C. Those guys along with Izik are very good down low. Late in the game it was Daymond's shooting that kind of propelled us to win the game though. It was an all around team effort to win."

11/15/14 - New York, NY: Madison Square Garden has caught fire and will not be able to host the NIT Season Tip-off this week. The games will take place in the Carnesecca Arena where St. John's plays. The teams represented in the tournament are Brown, UCF, Marquette, and San Diego State.
