Before I start my 1st Association got probaly bunch of silly questions

1: I think you can either play with whole team or set it up to play one position.. Only thing with this when season is over you would know those were all stats u performed.. How do u play? I've been playing with whole team

2: Theirs a lot of veterans on here that has Association running with great detail. How do you get all the info? And there has goto be a
better way to enter info in .. rosters, gamestats etc etc
3: I assume 12min is best to use I tryed a 8min one and top score barely broke 50pts..

Just basically any 1st timers tips would be great looks like a lot of fun just finding time to enter info .. Going give it a shot I see we've a site with templetes with some info to follow..

Wish me luck may start one soon

    Thanks in advance

I play with the whole team when I do my dynasty. One key part in making a good association is making it realistic while also having some creativity. A big think that s lot of people do wrong is that they don't get a good slider set so their results and scores come out either lopsided or aren't realistic. Hope O could help!

I agree with BlueJays. Keep it realistic, but some trades are ok.

Here is a place to get lots of tables that can help you out http://dynasties.operationsports.com/index.php and best is too be creative. Make sure you're having fun playing the games and writing recaps, because if it isn't fun for you then it makes everything else you post not as exciting. Also I agree with what the other 2 said.

IMO, just have fun. That even supercedes the realism thing in my book. Though I like to incorporate both. No right or wrong way to play.

Re: Before I start my 1st Association got probaly bunch of silly questions

My recommendation is to pick a team you like to play with that is not very good, and then to try and build them up, (Bobcats, Magic, Suns, etc.) or to pick a middle of the road team, and try to get them over the hump (Hawks, Rockets w/o Dwight, Mavs, etc.). I like to pick a team with either a lot of cap space, or a lot of expiring contracts, so you can make the team more your style by signing free agents that fit how you like to play. If you need to get info you need to dig around for stats, season stats, league leaders, awards trackers, etc. Its there, its just hard to find sometimes if you don't know where to look. Another way I make reporting these things fun, is I make it a GM dynasty (read trekfan's Ronnie Gold Story, My Tony Winter Story, or vicebeleiver's Richard Ortiz story to get a better idea of how those work. It give you a story, and a person in the series, so you'll end up growing more attached to the series and it will be more fun to do IMO. Its a lot of work too, but its well worth it, and it gives you more to do then report scores and transactions and trade rumors and other on-court only things.

Those are just suggestions on how to set it up. When I play I like to keep it real, but maybe you want to make an earth shattering moves that alters the NBA as a whole. Like, I never did a series on it, but I did a heat association where we did a three team trade where we sent LeBron and Chris Bosh out and I brought back in Josh Smith and preseason roster Kyrie Irving (before his ratings skyrocketed to like 89) for fun. I sent Lebron to cleveland for Kyrie and 2 first rounders, while I gave up one of those first rounders and Chris Bosh for Josh Smith.

So really there is no right or wrong way to do it, but make sure you enjoy it. Also get good sliders and rosters and draft classes, because if you don't it becomes much less enjoyable.
